Bones, what the hell are you trying to do to yet another lovely squintern? In Big in the Philippines (S09E13), Wendell Bray, my favorite squintern, who’s been around for so long, dated Angela, is big friends with Hodgins, was diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare form of sarcoma with little chance of survival.
By the end of the episode and after not being sure if he wanted to fight it, given his slim chances, he decides to do it, to fight it, to go through quimio, radiotherapy and maybe even amputation. Although we know that by episode 20 he’s still alive (given that he’s the intern there), I still don’t understand why this kind of plot. Don’t get me wrong, it was one of my favorite episodes in a while, one that actually showed Brennan’s human side and it was touching to see how much she and booth care about Wendell, I still think they could have done it differently and sign an almost certain death sentence to his character.
I just hope that the season doesn’t end with a death… at least not Wendell’s… if you guys want to kill an intern, do it to one of the newest guys, please!
