Castle: season finale (most satisfying moment!)

Castle‘s season 6 came to an end this Monday. If you watched it, keep going, otherwise you’re at your own risk!

I’m not going to do a recap of the episode, in general it was a funny episode (with too much crammed into it), with a bitter ending. I’m torned about that ending: for one, I did want the perfect wedding for them, because they deserve it, and definitely they did not deserved what happened. From another point of view, this just made things a whole more interesting… and truth was, they were not having their perfect wedding anyway… but I’m hopeful that they’ll have it next season!

I had ONE extremely satisfying moment in the episode:

Thank God they ruined that awful dress somehow! It’s just sad that they gave her such a better dress just so she could watch her boyfriend’s car burning up… Well, let’s hope that the fall will bring Castle back, alive and well!

ABC’s “Selfie”

ABC has picked up Karen Gillan’s Selfie! The show is about a self-obsessed 20-something woman who is more concerned with “likes” than being liked. The show also stars John Cho.

The trailer doesn’t look that bad, it does look like a movie trailer instead of a sitcom… but we’ll see. Karen’s accent tho, I dont know how she’s going to pull off an entire series. And I’m really curious to see how they’re going to work around her hair. I love John Cho, and I wish Karen the best (although she was never my favorite Pond), let’s at least hope that it does better than Super Fun Night!

X-Men: Channing Tatum to play Gambit

Hell NO!!! NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I can’t stress enough how disappointed I am with this casting confirmation for the upcoming X-Men movie! Hell no! What are you thinking, X-Men producers?!

Producer Lauren Shuler Donner confirmed the news at the London premiere of X-Men: Days Of Future Past, last Monday: “It’s Channing, yes, I’ll develop it with him.”. She say he would be perfect for the part because: “He’s a rogue, Channing. He’s a rascal just like Remy LeBeau. And he can handle the action, we all know that. And he’s got a really good heart, because I know him personally, I did a movie with him. So I think he’ll be great for Gambit. And he’s not from New Orleans but he is a Southerner – he understands that world – and you know Gambit loves New Orleans.

I’m seriously not happy about this casting choice. Look, I like Channing Tatum as much as the next girl, he’s kind of cute and funny and looks great without a shirt… none of these characteristics define Gambit! I would have been more satisfied if they brought back Taylor Kitsch, who played Gambit in (that really bad) X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Gambit and Rogue are two of my favorite X-Men, I loved them in the animated series back in the early 90’s and I loved them even more throughout the comics. I was seriously disappointed when back in 2000, Bryan Singer casted young Anna Paquin as Rogue, because as much as I love Anna Paquin and her Marie, she didn’t convey the image of the fierce and outspoken Rogue that I always knew. But now they are putting Tatum as the love of her life, presumably in the 80’s (meaning that the 2 characters won’t even meet), and that just doesn’t work for me….

Obviously, the X-Men are more than just the sum of its parts, and no matter who plays who, I know that all the upcoming movies will be great and I can’t wait to watch them. We’re just a few weeks away from X-Men: Days of Future Past, and I can’t wait!
