Lifetime cancels Witches of East End
The Beauchamp women will not be returning next summer =( . Lifetime has decided to pull the plug of the supernatural and magical drama Witches of the East End, that just ended its second season. So sad…
I don’t know why I just liked that, because I am devastated! I read the books and I loved the show so much more. There was this whole (really active!) campaign no Twitter to renew the series and I didn’t think it would be an issue. I know that ratings went down, but then they should’ve ended on a different note. I hate it when there is still so much unresolved and they just cancel it.
now i’ll probably take a lot of time to get to it… I have a problem: I get “separation anxiety” from some shows – for instance, if I don’t know the fate of a show, I keep the last few episodes to watch when I know the outcome, so I’ll be ready to say goodbye forever or not… I do this every year with Supernatural (even when it’s obvious they’ll get back… it also means less time between “the end” of that season and the begining of the next 🙂
I totally understand where you are coming from. I have separation issues as well and I hate it when I’m done with a show and it’s just over. But it’s even worse when there was some kind of cliffhanger or unresolved storyline. I hate that! I want to yell at the networks “I need freaking closure!”
I don’t know if you ever heard of the show “Valentine”, but I loved it to bits and they just cancelled it mid-season and I freaked. It was supposed to be like the mid-season cliffhanger, but they just never showed the rest, because they didn’t even finish shooting the first season. That’s so unfair to the viewers, even if there are only few. They totally did it right with 666 Park Avenue. They knew they’d get cancelled, so they took a larger break, rewrote the last couple of episodes and gave it a proper ending.
oh… i loved Valentine!!! Yeah, I hate the cliffhangers too, but they can only get the ending right if they’re warned beforehand of the show’s cancellation… on this case, the show ended weeks ago, and they just came to a decision now. it’s sad and unfair for us
That’s so cool! So few people now Valentine, but I thought it had a great premise and they just messed it up with their positioning. Seriously, who would watch it on Sunday afternoon?
I can’t say that I understand their cancellation, but I suppose the network has it’s reasons. I just wish they’d have made up their mind earlier.
that’s it. I wish that at the time a show is almost over, that at least the writers and producers should know the fate of their own shows, so no very stupid decisions are made, thinking they’ll have another season to put things back together
I will, for sure, if not for anything else, I’ll watch it because I love aunt Wendy 🙂 (not to mention the hot brothers that look nothing like each other)
oh my … I wish I could see your reaction when you’re finished. You’ll need to write a post about your emotions or something so that I can know what you were thinking!
sure… i’ll do that… you just left me thinking that something will happen to Wendy… that’s not good! (I usually read spoilers, but this a show I read absolutely nothing!)
I will neither confirm nor deny any of your suspicions because you shall not be spoiled by me. The ending is just really messed up now that I know it won’t continue 😦

Oh then you’re gonna be angry when you reach the end!
