Award season (as we all know) has begun and today the Oscar nominations came out and, as always, there is so outrage for one specific movie or another or other stuff, but hey, it happens all the time. My problem this year is that I REALLY want to watch a lot of these movies, but don’t have much time to do so.
So, here’s my list…
The Theory of Everything
Hector and the Search for Happiness
Qu’est-ce qu’on a fait au Bon Dieu?
While I can catch 4 of these in the movie theatre right down the street (original version) – where I saw The Imitation Game just yesterday – for most of them I’ll have to watch in Barcelona… so I predict a couple of double (or triple) features this weekend, one here in Sant Cugat and another in Barcelona… given that it’s highly unlikely that Boyhood and Mr Turner will hold on for another week.
The plan will be something like:
– Friday (when I get home from work): The Theory of Everything (because this is the movie I’ve been looking forward the most) and Qu’est-ce qu’on a fait au Bon Dieu? (mainly because it premiered before Christmas and it’s a miracle that it is still on… I never saw this many French movies…).
– Saturday (wake up extra early to catch the first screening): Hector and the Search for Happiness (Simon Pegg, Rosamund Pike… I don’t even have to watch the trailer to know that I really want to see that) and Boyhood (because it has been showing for a long long time). Then I would love to catch Mr Turner or Unbroken but those bastards only show this movie at 10pm, and by that time I have to be home…
– Sunday will be a day for work and maybe catch The Grand Hotel Budapest in the comfort of my bed…
– Sometime during the week I’ll find some time to watch Birdman, before they stop showing it here.
