Last month there was this amazing thing on Amazon.co.uk, where you could get 3 books for 10£. That’s amazing! Amazing I say! I say that because here in Barcelona or in Portugal, for that matter, the selection of books in english, that are ready to take on stores, is very limited. So, I jumped at the chance of buying some books, I needed some for my Reading Challenge anyway…
I started to click on the beginning of the month and finished my order on the 31st, my shopping bag had at the time some 22 books. So I had to cut a few… I managed to stay with 17! Yeah, not all of these belonged to that wonderful sales promotion, but nonetheless, the books were cheaper than buying them here. I ended up ordering 17 books and with the difference from pounds to euros and shipping costs and everything, it still came out for like 7€ a book, it’s quite cheap!
To sum it up, I’m very happy! I feel like a kid on Christmas day!

So cool!
I once read a book titled “It’s Not Me, It’s You” but it was by Jon Richardson. It was hilarious.
Did you know “Me Before You” got turned into a movie as well? It’s with Emilia Clarke, Sam Claflin and Jenna Coleman. I’m really excited for it!
I ordered “Eleanor & Park” last June but I still don’t have it. I think it takes until next January, because it’s some weird re-printed edition. I just want to read it before the movie comes out.
Attachments – love it!!!
Have you watched “Gone Girl”? I only read the book so far. It took me quite a while until I got into it, but then it was just so suspenseful!
Bossypants – only heard good things about it!
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief – it’s hilarious!
a movie that combines Emilia Clarke, Sam Claflin and Jenna Coleman?! I’m in! When is it coming out?!
The only one from Rainbow Rowell that I’m now lacking is Landline, they still didn’t have the paperback available…
Loved the movie Gone Girl… one of my favorites of last year, that’s why I want to read this book so bad.
I thought it was about time that I started reading Percy Jackson, and the books were so cheap that I thought “why not now?!”
😀
My thought exactly about the You Before Me movie!!! I’m not sure about the release date. I think it’s around March 2016 though.
I don’t have Landline either, but I love Rowell!
I only read the first Percy Jackson book, because there weren’t any books available with fitting covers to the first one I bought. I loved The Lightning Thief though!
I’ve been meaning to read them since the first movie came out, but it’s not like I could find the books in english… it’s not like in portugal and here in spain we don’t have books in their original versions, it’s just that we only have like a very restricted space and only some top books get there… that’s why I lost my cool in the bookshops while in the UK the last time… 😀
Oh, I didn’t know that. Here in Austria we can get pretty much the majority of all English language books. The only thing is that shipping takes a bit longer, because the shops barely have them on stock.
oh, we can order them too, but it usually doesn’t compensate. ordering in amazon is usually cheaper and faster. it takes away that lovely sensation of holding a book in your hand and deciding to buy it.
I don’t buy my books from amazon, but I do buy them online at my favorite bookshop. I often walk around in the English book section at the shop as well and they do have a lovely selection, but they don’t have the same appreciation for new YA releases as I do and therefore I often know about books I want to order before they have it at the shop. So, I buy from them, but not very often at the shop.
that’s pretty cool, and they have everybook you want?! because here, you can go online and order some books from the “local” bookstore, but the selection is somewhat limited
they are more of a chain than just one bookstore, so yeah, their selection is pretty big.
here and in portugal we have FNAC (I know is marocco and france they have it too), but although it’s quite a big company, the selection is not that steller… 😦
My company is called Thalia and I know that they have it in Germany as well, but I have no idea where else. They also have quite a lot of sweepstakes and giveaways and once I one an entire book package. I was so excited!
wow that sounds nice 🙂 I was so damn happy yesterday about my box of books… so I can imagine the excitment 🙂
Boxes of books are the best!!!
Have you ever heard of owlcrate? I want to treat myself to one someday. You should check it out (http://www.owlcrate.com)! It’s a Canadian company that creates YA-book-packages each month. It’s always a newly released book and then some fan-articles, like posters, badges, little figurines or bookmarks that fit the topic. Unfortunately, they only have about 20 boxes per month and international shipping costs quite a bit. Still, just once I want to get one for myself!
I had never heard of it before, now I’m going to have to check it out. It looks so cool! I love the Harry Potter vibe!
Absolutely! I saw it on some booktuber channels and instantly fell in love with the concept.
😀
Because we had been talking about the movie: http://www.mugglenet.com/2015/04/matt-lewis-cast-in-me-before-you/
That’s great news! According to imdb it will also feature: Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Ben Lloyd-Hughes (from Divergent) and Brendon Coyle (Downton Abbey). So, basically people from shows and movies I love hahaha
YES!!! points for the movie already!
Definitely! And since I’ve heard that people really love the book (although I haven’t read it myself. One of the rare stories I don’t want to be spoiled about) I have high hopes for the film.
indeed! I will probably be reading it in the next couple of months, but i will not spoil it for you 😉
Hahaha thanks!
