>> Nº 34 on My 2015 Reading Challenge – A book with a love triangle <<
What if all the crushes you ever had found out how you felt about them…all at once?
Lara Jean Song keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They aren’t love letters that anyone else wrote for her; these are ones she’s written. One for every boy she’s ever loved—five in all. When she writes, she pours out her heart and soul and says all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly, Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control.
This book is so cute! I really enjoyed it. About the love triangle thing, I wanted to leave this category to one of the classics, but truth is, this would then be the second book that I read that did not go anywhere, and I couldn’t have that. Anyway, there’s no lacking in love triangles on this book, we have the Margot – Josh – Lara Jean, Lara Jean – Peter K. – Genevieve and finally Peter K. – Lara Jean – Josh.
Fair warning, there might be SPOILERS!
I have to admit that I was worried at first, the reviews said great things, but for the first few chapters I could not relate to Lara Jean, and she felt a lot younger than she should be. But then, once she start’s hanging out with Peter and begins relaxing and being more herself, she grows up a lot and it’s so much easier to relate to and to really like her.
Again, I was a bit worried that the focus of the book would be Josh… See, I really started to like Peter, I thought he was great. Luckily, Lara Jean realized the same 😉 !!!
About her family, loved her dad, loved Kitty, not crazy about Margot. Still wondering why the hell she broke up with Josh, because having sex with the boyfriend of 2 years should not be reason enough. Also, did not like Chris at all! Kitty, oh, I love that kid, I was on to her from the start!!!!
I can’t wait to read P.S. I Still Love You, because I have so many questions in my head. Also, I want to read her letter to Josh, because he get Peter’s and two others, but we don’t read Josh’s… I want to.
All in all, quite enjoyable, it left a smile on my face – I kind of liked it that it didn’t have a proper ending, it left me craving for more.
