Real Neat Blog Award

Hello!!! I’ve been nominated for a Real Neat Blog Award, so first of all, a big thank you to Anne @ ANNE-THOLOGY OF BOOKS, and you should definitely go check out her blog… go here! NOW!!!

wpid-real-neat-blog-award

The rules are simple:

1. Thank and tag back the blogger who nominated you

2. Answer the questions he/she did to you

3. Nominate 7 bloggers

4. Ask 7 questions for them to answer

So, without further ado, here are Anne’s questions (and my answers). Be warned, they are of the personal and deep kind.

  • How have you changed from a year ago?

I haven’t changed all that much, I guess I’m reading more, but personality wise I’m still pretty much the same.

  • Are you content with your life right now? Why?

Content? I guess so… Happy with it? No. I guess I’m at a point when uncertainty is looming and that is never good. I wish I had already finished my PhD and was already on another stage of my life…

  • How has writing/blogging influenced your mood?

Blogging has been a huge influence on my mood, it makes me happier and lighter. It’s a way to vent and let go, talk to other people, and realize that no matter which thing you think you’re alone at, you’re really not.

  • Describe a book pet peeve you have.

Ohhhh, when a book series is not all in the same size or format… it drives me crazy!!!!

  • What character traits do you value most in a person?

Honesty… I have trust issues.

  • What is the difference that causes you to envy someone but admire someone else?

Humility.

  • Simple question this time: favorite candy flavor?

Probably not so easy… lol… I guess I would have to say strawberry (as in strawberry gummies), or watermelon?! I don’t know… I’m actually not very big on candy…

My nominees are (by the way, go check out their blogs… 🙂 ):

And my questions to them… they’ll be a tad lighter, I’m not capable of forming rational thoughts in this heat (37ºC here in Barcelona!):

Where would you rather spend a vacation? Beach? Mountain? City? Why?

If you got stranded in a desert island, which 3 items would you like to have with you?

What’s your biggest celebrity crush? Why?

Coke or Pepsi? Or “what are you talking about, there’s no difference”?

Favorite time of the year? Why?

Name a music that reminds you of your childhood?

You can only pick ONE book to read (forever), what would it be?

Blast from the past: 90’s music

Spotify has a few interesting features… yesterday I wasn’t sure what I was on the mood to listen to, so I went to the 90’s playlist, and OMG, what a blast from the past. Here are 10 90’s tracks that left a smile on my face:

  • Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) – The Backstreet Boys

How cool was this clip when it came out? And who else knew all the steps?!

  • I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That) – Meat Loaf

I LOVE this music, I still have the 12 minute version of it on my mp3…

  • Baby Can I Hold You – Boyzone

Ohhh, look at those baby faces…

  • Truly Madly Deeply – Savage Garden
  • Pretty Fly (For a White Guy) – The Offspring

This was everywhere back then 😀 !!!

  • Oops!… I did it again – Britney Spears

It was such a huge hit!

  • Barbie Girl – Aqua

I bet you can still remember this whole song!

  • MMMBop – Hanson

Hanson’s first big hit. They’re all grown up now…

  • No Scrubs – TLC

I love TLC so much!

  • Bring it All Back – S Club 7

S Club 7 success was short lived, but this was a great and catchy song.

So, were these songs part of your younger years? 🙂

July TBR

I never did a TBR list before. I only decide which book to read next when I’m finished with the current one. This month, however, will be a little different. Recently I moved most of my possessions back to Portugal, yes, I mean most of my books, so I had to roughly pre-determine what I was going to be reading for the two upcoming months…

1. P.S. I Still Love You (Jenny Han) – I actually just finished this one last night, it took me a bit more than I was hoping for, because I had a few hectic days where I couldn’t get a word in…

2. An Ember in the Ashes (Sabaa Tahir) – Just started it this morning 😀 ! I have been wanting to read this since the moment I bought it in May, so here I go.

3, 4 and 5. Throne of Glass, Crown of Midnight and Heir of Fire (Sarah J. Maas) – Since the moment I finished ACOTAR I’ve been itching to pick this series up. My only problem with it is that I don’t know how to fit it in my Reading Challenge… May I count it as a trilogy?! Even though I know it’s in fact a series and the 4th is coming out in September?! I don’t know… and I don’t care, I want to read them!

6. The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender (Leslye Walton) – I think (or rather I hope) that I can fit this book into this month. I read 8 books in May and another 8 in June, so I think it’s possible. This one has a spot in my Reading Challenge
