The bedtime book tag

I was tagged by Tasha @ HEAD IN THE CLOUDS, HEART IN THE BOOKS to do this book tag, The Bedtime Book Tag. This was originally created by Kellys BookSpill and you can find the original video here.

  1. What book kept you up all night reading?

The Mortal Instruments: City of Fallen Angels and City of Lost Souls kept me up until like 4 a.m. each, considering that I had work in the morning. I’m much more controlled now, and I hardly do that anymore, knowing that I will be pretty tired the next day, I mostly force myself to stop reading… Sometimes is quite tough, and I have to shove the book inside my backpack, otherwise I’m tempted to pick it up again.

(see the gorgeous new covers?! I’m so in love with them)

  1. What book made you scared to go to sleep?

I don’t read horror books, but sometimes a book has me scared to go to sleep because I need to know that the character is all right… and then I toss and turn because I want to know what happens next…

  1. What book almost put you to sleep?

The Iliad by Homer. I still haven’t finished it. The problem is not in the book, I assure you, I love mythology and all that. But I have a pocket version of the book, in Portuguese, with teeny tiny letters, and I was reading it in my commute to work, on the train, when said commute was about 1h, so I naturally just fell asleep every time I opened the book. I do intent to read it though… someday.

  1. What book has you tossing and turning in anticipation of its release?

A Court of Thorns and Roses #2 !!!!! I’m obviously waiting for a few others (An Ember in the Ashes #2, I’m looking at you!!!).

  1. What book has your dream girlfriend/boyfriend?

So many, but mainly The Infernal Devices trilogy… JEM CARSTAIRS!!! 😀

  1. What book world would be your worst nightmare to live in?

The Hunger Games, no doubt. It’s just such a cruel world and a horrible way to grow up (or die). And I’m not even within the reaping age anymore…

  1. What book cover reminds you of night time?

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. Look at that cover! How could you not think of night time?

  1. What book has a nightmarish cliffhanger?

I can’t remember any! I will say it again, I hardly start a series when it comes out, so usually if there’s a cliffhanger, I just pick up the next book on the series 😉

  1. What book have you actually dreamed about?

A Court of Thorns and Roses… I also daydream about it… not nightmares though…

  1. What book monster would you not want to find under your bed?

I don’t remember its name, but there was a kind of monster in ACOTAR which Feyre could not see, but could sense, you know what I mean? I felt that it was something similar to a Dementor, which by the way, I would so not want to find under my bed. I think that the monsters who mess with your head are the worst kind.

That was fun 😀 !!! I will tag *YOU* (because my brain is not functioning enough to tag specific people, and because everyone should do this one, ’cause it’s great!). A huge thanks to Tasha again for tagging me for this one 😉 .

Awesome answers, Cristina! I don’t read (or even watch) horror either. /shudders/ Those books just aren’t for me. JEM! ❤ He's so beautiful, talented, and kind. And that edition of HP is gorgeous!

Oh and I love your blog's new look! 🙂

thank you! It was raining today, which put a damp on my plans to go watch Ant-Man, so I just stayed home to tweek my blog… it was in dire need.

Jem oh… I just find him kind of perfect, I love Will too, but not the same. He was the first book character for whom I felt this kind of attachment.
I love my Harry Potter books. I read them well in my 20’s, so I bought the whole edition because I fell in love with it. 😀

I think my first fiction crush was Jace. But I liked him less after City of Glass. Plus, I met Jem in TID, hehe. You’re right, he’s pure perfection. 😉 And I read Harry Potter in the summer before 5th grade so I want to say I was 11 years old. Good times, I wish I could experience those books for the first time again. Truly magical.

When HP came out I was well in my teens, thinking of college, unfortunately reading wasn’t a “cool thing” and I let it slide. It wasn’t until I was finishing my masters degree, before Deathly Hallows 1 came out, that I saw those covers and I knew that I had to read it all!

          Life is strange sometimes.

I liked Jace in the first couple of books, though he’s too full of himself for me to find him “perfect”, you know? I really like him though.

I had seen all the HP movies when I read, and I loved discovering all those little important things that didn’t made into the movies, you know?

          • Summer @ Xingsings says:

I totally see the flaws in Jace as well. That’s probably why I wasn’t as attached to Will. They’re just so similar (for obvious reason) but also in terms of personality. And I understand what you mean about the HP details. I’m one of the few readers that actually saw a couple of the movies prior to reading them as well. 🙂

Yay! This tag seems fun! I really want to do it!
I’ve been delaying reading ACOTAR because I think it’ll be one of those books that I’ll be needing the sequel immediately! So not reading it for me is harsh 😀
