Music: Be Our Guest (Disney’s Beauty and the Beast)

Life is a funny thing. While growing up I positively hated the song “Be Our Guest” from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Off course, I later realized that the problem was not the music, but the translation (I watched the movie in Brazilian-Portuguese when I was little), which totally sucked. But today I was listening to the Disney playlist on Spotify, and I totally love this music, it’s so addictive!

You can see here the horrific Brazilian version:

I love Disney!

Unfortunately I never like the Brazilian-Portuguese versions but I love the European Portuguese ones sometimes even better than the original ones (maybe because I grew up listening to them). And am I the only one who is excited for the live-action movie??? I want it to be so good.

      I’m super excited too 😀

In my time (because I’m probably older than you), we got the movies in Brazilian. it wasn’t until The Lion King and Pocahontas that they started to do it in Portuguese (for real). I do love our songs, some more than the originals, but this one was never one of them…

Actually, I’ve only seen this movie in Portuguese (EU) once, when it come out a few years back for its anniversary.

Yep… I’m from The Lion King and Pocahontas time (my favorite Disney movies ever) so I always had the european portuguese ones. Even in older movies. I had the european portuguese version of Oliver and Company (also one of my favorites) and I love our songs

Disney usually has great music in most of the movies, but there are always exceptions. Never did care for “Fantasia”. It was too repetitive for my taste.
