August TBR

As promised in my July Wrap-up, I will now share with you the books I’ll be reading in this month of August.

I will have a little more time this month than I had the last one. For one, I won’t work on weekends, because it’s August. The university will be empty, so I’ll use my time better, not having to wait for other people is extremely gratifying. We’re not having insufferable heat anymore here (which I hope holds up). So, this is my month in books (click on the cover to go to their GoodReads pages):

1. More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera – I’ve actually already started this one and am close to finishing it.

2. Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas – obviously, right?! I wasn’t able to fit it into last month, but I’m sure will make time for it now, starting tomorrow (probably)!

3. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi – I will finally read the Shatter Me trilogy! As soon as I am done with Heir of Fire, I will pick this up.

4. Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi

5. Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi

6. Modern Romance by Aziz Ansari and Eric Klinenberg – Like Bossypants, I decided to try the audiobook, which is great. I’m already 1 hour in and Aziz is super funny. I realized that audiobooks are perfect when I’m at the gym, walking to the university or grocery shopping!

7. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh – I plan for this one to be the only book I buy this month (and it’s already on it’s way), but I definitely want to give it a go before the last week of August.

8. The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas – Now I know I’m pushing the envelope, I HOPE I get time to squeeze this one in, I think it’s highly likely.

And that’s it! Obviously I would like to have more time and fit more books in (Ready Player One, you’ll be next), but I’ll have to see how this month unfolds. What do you think of my book choices for this month of August?

The Harry Potter 30 Days Challenge #2

Welcome back for the second day of The Harry Potter 30 Days Challenge. Leannaatc @Short Story Long created this original challenge and you can find the prompt for each day here here, and you can also see her post for the second day here.

– DAY 2: YOUR FAVORITE movie? –

Again, like I mentioned of The Harry Potter Tag, my favorite, as the book, is Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

Much like I said about the book, I find that this movie has the perfect amount of drama, comedy, action, love, heartbreak…  The direction is superb and I think it’s the movie when Daniel Radcliffe really came into his own. The trio does an even more amazing job in the movie, which then they manage to top it off in The Deathly Hallows (which are magnificent, both of them).

I love the transitions between the comedic elements of this movie to the dark moments :), I think that why this is my fav.

July Wrap-Up

And that’s it, July ended and we’re already in August… how the hell did that happen?! o_O

july_wrap_up

Back at the beginning of this month I has set up reading 6 books this month, as you can see on my July TBR. I have failed! I had meant to read:

1. P.S. I Still Love You (Jenny Han)

2. An Ember in the Ashes (Sabaa Tahir)

3. Throne of Glass (Sarah J. Maas)

4. Crown of Midnight (Sarah J. Maas)

5. Heir of Fire (Sarah J. Maas)

6. The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender (Leslye Walton)

I ended up not reading Heir of Fire or The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender due to lack of time.

But I did read:

1. P.S. I Still Love You (Jenny Han)

2. An Ember in the Ashes (Sabaa Tahir)

3. Throne of Glass (Sarah J. Maas)

4. Crown of Midnight (Sarah J. Maas) (review coming soon)

5. Bossypants (Tina Fey) – I actually listened to the audiobook – my very first audiobook! (Review coming soon)

All in all it was a bad month in terms of time to read, but the books themselves were amazing, I only wished I had had the time to get to Heir of Fire, but worry not, I’ll be done with it by this time next week. I’ll be posting my August TBR later today.

Small News on Marvel’s Jessica Jones

Since Netflix announced the several shows that they would be producing with Marvel, the one I’ve been more interested in has been “Marvel’s Jessica Jones“. Not only will it feature a female superheroes, but Krysten Ritter (who is one of my favorite actresses) plays the main character, and also David Tennant (one of my favorite actors) plays the villain.

The logo for the show was finally released yesterday, and the show is set to premiere later this year. It will be set within the same small universe of Daredevil (inside the major MCU), and Rosario Dawson is even set to drop by as Claire, first introduced in Daredevil.
