Book Traveling Thursdays: A Book by a Favorite Author

168709

Today is the first day of Book Traveling Thursdays, which a weekly meme created by Catia @The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @Danielle’s Book Blog. The goal is to share the covers of a book related to that week’s theme, which you can see at the Goodreads group, indicating the original cover, the one of your country, your favorite and least favorite. Sounds like fun, right?

So I was either going with Cassandra Clare, J.K. Rowling, Sarah J. Maas or Rainbow Rowell, I went with the latter ;-). So, let’s have a look at Attachments, which I mention before how much I love it.

Original Cover:

This cover is a mistery to me, because I think it was replaced rather quickly by the one below with the chairs (and thanks for that, because this one kind of sucks!).

I think that all of Rainbow Rowell’s original covers are amazing, all of them, but not this one! Let’s all agree that the original one is the one below in the favorite department?!

Cover from my Country (Portugal) & Cover from the country I live in (Spain):

So, given that I’m currently living in Spain, I thought it would be good to put both covers, unfortunately Attachments hasn’t arrived to either country! I know, right? HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?! So, the next best thing? I’m giving you the cover from Brazil (hey, at least is Portuguese!).

Favorite Cover:

No doubt my favorite cover is this one, which incredibly came out just a few days after that atrocious pink one above, so honestly I think this is considered the “original” one.

I have the UK version, which is nothing much, but one day I will get this hardcover because it’s so damn pretty and I love it!

Least Favorite Cover:

The Turkish cover is BAD! Really BAD!!!! I mean, what were they even thinking is this cover? It has absolutely nothing to do with the original one, and honestly it doesn’t even fit the story =/.

Wally West is coming to The Flash

The CW has announced yesterday another addition to The Flash cast. Keiynan Lonsdale is joining the second season of the show as a series regular, playing none other than Wally West.

Who is Wally West you ask, and why does the name sound so familiar?! Well that might be because he’s also known as the Kid Flash, the Barry Allen’s Flash sidekick, and he is the third person to go by The Flash.

In the comics Wally is Iris’s nephew, though I imagine that for the show they will probably make him her cousin or something. But what does this mean? Is Barry getting a sidekick so early in the game? Will Wally be introduced in the series for long-term plans? What? What? I’m getting quite excited about this second season!

The Harry Potter 30 Days Challenge #7

Welcome back for the 7th day of The Harry Potter 30 Days Challenge. As you know by now, Leannaatc @Short Story Long had this idea of a month full of Harry Potter and you can find the prompt for each day here here.

– Day 7: Who’s your favourite female character and why? –

I’m going to cheat… again! Sorry people, but choosing one is not an option here.

Hermione:

Hermione is obviously one of my favorite female characters on Harry Potter. I say obviously because she’s smart, she kicks-ass and she also has more “screen-time” than any other female on this book, so it’s pretty easy to love her, even if she’s an “insufferable know-it-all” (don’t worry honey, I am too at times).

Tonks:

I feel in love with Tonks as soon as she made her first appearance on Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix. She’s just so cool, and if you thought she looked cool in the movies, it has nothing on her coolness on the books. First off, she’s super young, and she’s already an Auror. She changes her hair colour very often, she gives advice to the girls and becomes more than a friend, she has horrible relatives, but she’s still so awesome. And she falls in love with Lupin and doesn’t care if he’s older, poor or a werewolf!

Luna:

I don’t think is possible not to absolutely love Luna Lovegood. She sees the world much more clearly than any other person, she doesn’t care what people say about her, she’s always herself! Enough said, Luna rocks!

Minerva McGonagall:

Full disclosure, I already loved McGonagall before reading the books, it might have something to do with the Amazing Dame Maggie Smith portraying her on screen! With that said, McGonagall is OUT OF THIS WORLD! She is always funny and respect worthy, but her confrontations with Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix will forever be within my favorite bits of these books. And her sass… 😀

Molly Weasley:

I talked about the Weasley men the other day, but in truth that family wouldn’t be who they are if they weren’t led by the amazing Molly Weasley. She’s a fierce mother and a force of nature. Her worst nightmare was loosing all her family, including Harry… and she killed Bellatrix!!! Points for Mrs Weasley!

– Day 2: Favorite Movie? –

– Day 3: Is there anything in the film adaptations that annoyed you? –
