Welcome back for the 12th day of The Harry Potter 30 Days Challenge! As you know by now, Leannaatc @Short Story Long had this idea of a month full of Harry Potter and you can find the prompt for each day here here.
– Day 12: Favourite ship? –
I actually have 2 huge ships within the Harry Potter Universe… I mean, I ship a lot of other people, but these 2 are strong.
Ron & Hermione
I don’t care what J.K. Rowling said a while back about this being a mistake or whatever, Ron and Hermione complement each other so well… I shipped them since they were kids, so awkward around each other, never really knowing how to demonstrate their feelings… with Ron always standing up for her, but never truly admitting it. And then the jealousy… Book 4 was hard for Ron! Book 6 was hell for Hermione! But I love their relationship, their foundation of friendship and all the things that were never said throughout the 7 books, but that you could feel through the pages.
““Hang on a moment!” said Ron sharply. “We’ve forgotten someone!” “Who?” asked Hermione. “The house-elves, they’ll all be down in the kitchen, won’t they?” “You mean we ought to get them fighting?” asked Harry. “No,” said Ron seriously, “I mean, we should tell them to get out. We don’t want any more Dobbies, do we? We can’t order them to die for us -”
There was a clatter as the basilisk fangs cascaded out of Hermione’s arms. Running at Ron, she flung them around his neck and kissed him full on the mouth. Ron threw away the fangs and broomstick he was holding and responded with such enthusiasm that he lifted Hermione off her feet. “Is this the moment?” Harry asked weakly, and when nothing happened except that Ron and Hermione gripped each other still more firmly and swayed on the spot, he raised his voice. “OI! There’s a war going on here!” Ron and Hermione broke apart, their arms still around each other. “I know mate,” said Ron, who looked as though he had recently been hit on the back of the head with a bludger, “so its now or never, isn’t it?””

Lupin & Tonks
Individually, they are two of my favorite people in Harry Potter, together, I love them to death. Oh, I suffered when she was so in love with him and he still refused her, I cried when he abandons his family, I smiled so much when he gets back to them, and then I was destroyed when both of them died, leaving Teddy… 😦
Still, they’re still amazing, and I shipped them from the moment I realized that Tonks was in love with Lupin.
““You see!” said a strained voice. Tonks was glaring at Lupin. “She still wants to marry him, even though he’s been bitten! She doesn’t care!” “It’s different,” said Lupin, barely moving his lips and looking suddenly tense. “Bill will not be a full werewolf. The cases are completely-” “But I don’t care either, I don’t care!” said Tonks, seizing the front of Lupin’s robes and shaking them. “I’ve told you a million times….” And the meaning of Tonk’s Patronus and her mouse-colored hair, and the reason she had come running to find Dumbledore when she had heard a rumor someone had been attacked by Greyback, all suddenly became clear to Harry; it had not been Sirius that Tonks had fallen in love with after all. “And I’ve told you a million times,” said Lupin, refusing to meet her eyes, staring at the floor,“that I am too old for you, too poor….too dangerous….” “I’ve said all along you’re taking a ridiculous line on this, Remus,” said Mrs. Weasley over Fleur’s shoulder as she patter her on the back. “I am not being ridiculous,” said Lupin steadily. “Tonks deserves somebody young and whole.” “But she wants you,” said Mr. Weasley, with a small smile. “And after all, Remus, young and whole men do not necessarily remain so.” He gestured sadly at his son, lying between them. “This is….not the moment to discuss it,” said Lupin, avoiding everybody’s eyes as he looked around distractedly. “Dumbledore is dead….” “Dumbledore would have been happier than anybody to think that there was a little more love in the world,” said Professor McGonagall curtly…” ― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Did you ever think about shipping Dobby and Winky? XD They’re my OTP of the Harry Potter series, don’t Judge. XD
dudge?! never! I did, but poor Dobby, Winky was always drunk and complaining about everything… 😉 but sure, they would be a cute pair 😀
I always imagine that if Dobby were still alive he would help Winky with her drinking problem and they would live happily ever after. 😝
oh, i like that! 😀
That is actually crazy adorable. I can picture it:
“Harry Potter! I is tellin’ Winky to stop drinking and to call our Master an old fart!”
“You mean Dumbledore?”
“Yes, sir! He is saying that we may call him an–” Dobby stifled a giggle, “old fart if we choose sir, but Dobby isn’t saying so because Master pays us well!”
“Is Winky taking pay now Dobby?” Hermione asked.
“No, miss. But she is wearing the clothes Dobby bought for her with his pay! She keeps them clean now.”
“You bought her clothes?” Ron asked.
“Yes Wheezey! And Winky is wearing them without spilling butterbeer on them!”
“So…she’s still drinking?”
“Not so much sir.” Dobby’s ears folded down. “But Dobby will make sure she stops! Winky will see! Working at Hogwarts and getting pay and being free…Winky will see!”
ohhhhh (I miss Dobby!)
They will just be the cutest 😍😍😍
I love your choices! Haha, I will never forget how either of these pairs got together because (1) “OI! THERE’S A WAR GOING ON HERE!” is the most sound cockblock in the world and (2) In that scene not only does Tonks end up with Lupin, but Fleur ends up with Bill, both proving that werewolves (and other supernatural creatures wizards have prejudice against) deserve and can have love.
yeah 😀 I loved Tonks and Lupin story so much on the books… I was so mad that the movies didn’t do them enough justice 😦
I know right? GRRRRR….
it was just so important, given how Teddy would become such a big part of that final message… I wanted to see it all 😦
I know! We only get small glimpses of their relationship in the movies….i don’t even think we get to see them get together and that is just SAD.
😦 at least we have the books 😀
I love both of those couples. Although I also love Harry and Ginny and when they first kiss. Ron and Hermoine and Harry and Ginny’s first kiss are the most epic romantic parts of the books. Although, there’s not really a whole lot of romance there anyways…lol
I agree with that. 🙂 they are both great moments in the books 🙂
