Musical Connections #4

musicalconnections

Hello!!!! Today I’ll do a quick post (because I have to catch a plane in a few hours). I can’t listen to any album by K’s Choice without linking it to my exams from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of University.

         exams

Me and a friend developed this routine when we started studying for the exams on the first semester of the first year… we would get to the university around 8 a.m., set our things at the library, go for coffee (maybe a game of cards), go study a bit, break, study… it worked well for most of the time. LOL. She introduced me to K’s Choice, and when a lot more people started to gather around us – due to her mad skills at Math – I really concentrated on my music.

Our routine maintained itself more or less constant throughout her 4 years of college, even though by the 3rd year we had different subjects matters.

I chose this for this week’s theme because TODAY IT’S HER BIRTHDAY!!! Happy Birthday IF (if by any miracle you’re reading this – which you sometimes do). Double congratulations are in order because she just became a Doctor this week! Yeah!!! She did it right 😉 and managed to even finish her PhD before her 30th birthday (I’m beyond proud of you!).

I’m leaving, on a airplane…

… But I’ll be back in a week! LOL. I’m leaving today to go HOME!!! Oh yeah, I’m really needing a few days with family and friends. I’ve already packed and came to 2 startling realizations, first, every single t-shirt I set aside to take with me (a.k.a. my most worn pieces of clothing) are all fandom related! Yup!

Second realization, my suitcase has around 27 books inside right now… and the only purpose of even taking clothes is to not damage my precious books!

My TBR shelf here is considerably lighter, but I can’t hold on to all my read and unread books here, so I just left those that I’ll probably get around to in the next 3 months.

I’ll probably ease up on the posting in the next few days, I suspect I’ll have a somewhat filled week, between helping my brother and sister in law furnish their new house, seeing some friends that I haven’t seen in months, being with my sister, hugging my nieces – because I miss the both of them so so much, and obviously, spending some time with my dad (I live in his house and all…). 😀

But I’ll be around and I’ll be on twitter a lot (because I’m hooked!) !

Doctor Who: BBC (finally) confirms Jenna Coleman’s exit

After more than a year of endless rumours, BBC has finally confirmed that Clara Oswald will be leaving the Time Lord during this 9th season, although the when, why and how are still in the air.

All I can say is: FINALLY! I really like Jenna Coleman, and I like Clara well enough – although not my favorite companion, I still liked her better than Amy – but it was about damn time for her to leave the show. Last season was way too focused on her and not enough on The Doctor, and I want to see Capaldi with a different kind of companion. Please, can they give us a male companion now?
