For 2016 I’m doing 2 reading challenges: the Goodreads Reading Challenge, where I’m aiming for 75 books (and secretly hoping I reach 100); and the Popsugar Reading Challenge.
I’m quite excited about the Popsugar challenge. I didn’t manage to finish the 2015 one, but I have high hopes for this year. 😀 Who’s with me?

with you on this! I wasn’t really trying to complete the challenge last year but this you I’ll try to complete it. at least most of it because reading a political memior does not sound like fun reading to me. Just not my thing. If you have a recomendation for this it would be great.
To be totally honest i haven’t even read the whole scope of the cathegories 😀
hahaha! I kinda just skimmed through it
Good luck with both of your challenges!
Positive vibes and happy reading to your challenges!
Thank you Joey. 😉
I’m doing the same challenges. Well, I’m not aiming to 75 books (I’m only trying for 60) but I think that this year Popsugar reading challenge is a little bit more manageable than last year
I have to really look at the list and start trying to fit my january books in there…
I have a doubt about that. Do you think that the broken dreams books that we still have to read are considered a book and its prequel?? Also, Winter is going for the retelling category for me
yeah, winter will be retelling for me too… i guess the broken dreams book can go there, right? it is a book and its prequel… 😉
I think so. I know it a novel and a novella but it’s also a book and it’s prequel and I don’t know if I’ll read another book and prequel after this. Also, Carry On might be good for the New York Times Bestseller 🙂
i thought of that as well :D, well, did we just figured 3 categories?! 😀
I think so. Now we just need to figure out all the other ones XD
yes, but having 3 figured out in day 2 of the year is kind of great 😉
We have 364 days to figure all the other categories 😀
😀 true! A book with a blue cover has to be the easiest one, right? and a book with over 600 pages? Illuminae maybe?
I just bought Voyager and it has over 1000 pages. If I read it it may also be used in the over 600 pages 😀
ohhh, definitely! that’s a lot!
It is. I’m scared of that book. And let’s not forget the YA bestseller. That one is super easy for us
hmmmm, anyone big really, which one are you thinking?
I don’t know yet but Lady Midnight and Glass Sword are going to be released soon and I hope to read them.
yep, those sound like good contenders
Everyone knows that they will become bestsellers so that’s another category figured out 🙂
😀 oh yeah, progress!!! A book under 150 pages… we can use a novella or any of the books from the kissing bundle
Yes. Also, a book you can finish in one day and a book released in 2016 might be easy too
oh yeah, that should be super easy. also, a book that’s becoming a movie this year, I’ll go with a monster calls by patrick ness 😉
I need to get that one. It’s perfect for thatcategory
right? 😉 a book from the library? I don’t go to libraries 😦
Me neither. I have one right next to me now but they probably don’t have books that I normally read
yeah, that’s what I’m afraid of 😦 also, the poems? wow, I don’t really like poetry 😦
Me neither. I don’t even know if I ever owned a poetry book
yep, i didn’t. Does Os Lusiadas count? omg, now that i’ve read all the categories, some are really damn hard!
Os Lusiadas should count.. Maybe this is the year I’ll finally read Fernando Pessoa. I hated it in the portuguese classes because I was never good with poetry. Some are really hard bu we have 364 days to think about it 😛
yep 🙂 I didn’t exactly like Fernando Pessoa either…
The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender has a blue cover. I think we can have another winner here even though a blue cover is pretty easy to find
yes, I need to read that one as well 😀
A political memoir? I’m afraid of this one…
I’m going to look for a Donal Trump memoir. It might fit the satyrical one too XD
LOL! I don’t think I can read anything by him… just no… lol
Me neither, that man is ridiculous, but my joke was on point. Just saying XD
it was 😛
Sometimes I can be really funny but only sometimes 😛
Good luck for your challenges! I don’t think I’ll participate in anything yet again hahaha
You’re doing the goodreads though, right?
Yeah, but not like reading specific kinds of books or so.
😉 are you doing the blogging challenge about the discussion posts? That sounded interesting
Yep, but I still have no idea what to discuss
yep, same problem here, I also don’t know which day of the week to aim a discussion post…
I only know it’s not going to be Sunday, because that’s my trailer day hahaha
😀 that’s cool! you’re having fixed days for stuff :D. I’m trying to figure out my blogging schedule for these next weeks ;), also, my blog will be 3 in a couple of days 😀
Already!? That’s so soon! 🙂 but also yay!
I only have Trailers on Sunday and sometimes TTT, but that’s it hahaha
that’s cool 😀 I have TTT on tuesdays, and BTT on Thursdays and on sunday it’s usually Wandering about or an award… i just don’t want to post reviews and tags on following days
You have more of a system than I do then! I post so randomly! I thought about wether I should start posting around the same time every day, like say 11 AM or something, but then I just like to be flexible so much.
😀 I only have “fixed” times when I schedule posts, otherwise I don’t care 😉
Good to hear I am not alone in that then hahaha
not at all 😉
Good luck with both of your challenges!
I’m quite excited for the Popsugar Challenge. I’m not aiming to complete the entire thing, but if I do that will be so great 🙂
😀 i’m feeling the same way
So happy I found your blog! I’m doing both challenges as well. Have a great 2016 and best of luck with the challenges!
Oh thank you! And good luck for yours too! What’s your goodreads number? Happy new year 😉
Thanks! It’s 32657066. 🙂
Lol I was thinking about the profile number! Last year I went for 150, and as I don’t like to lose I somehow managed to read all of them, but I have no intention of doing the same mistake again 😉
I think I’ll go for 30, easy peasy. 🙂
that’s a good number 😉
Good luck on the challenges! Feel like people doing the goodreads challenge are in a marathon of some sort. I’m the person giving out the bottles of water of course.
eheh, i know what you mean… but i had fun with it last year, so i’ll try again this year 🙂
Hi! I also started challenge on goodreads! Good luck with yours. I have a question. Can I borrow your picture “2016 Reading Challanges” to put it in my site http://www.pasjonatkaksiazek.blogspot.com in the top of my 2016 list of books?
Good luck with yours 😊 and sure, borrow away 😉
Good luck with your challenges! 😀
I failed with the Popsugar one last year, because I didn’t organize myself better with it.
I ended up failing too… I think I was short 10 books or something. Are you doing it this year?
I don’t think I’ll be doing it this year. I’m doing another challenge though to read my books on my shelves that have been sitting awhile. I want to try to read 30 of those. Since I’m always buying books and then they start collecting dust when I buy more haha.
that’s a very good challenge 😉
So far I’m only doing the Goodreads challenge! Best of luck with Goodreads and Popsugar. I would really have to branch out to do the Pop Sugar Challenge!!
Thank you. The popsugar always has some difficult ones, but let’s see how it goes 😉
You’re welcome! I guess that’s why it’s a challenge 🙂
Good luck with your challenges this year! I hope you complete them! I’ve l set my Goodreads book challenge to around 60 books, so hopefully I can complete that this year. 😊
Thank you Josie! 60 is a lot of books 😀 good luck with yours 😉
Hi there! I am also participating in a 2016 Reading Challenge and would love to have you join me on my journey as well! If you would like, please check out my blog. I look forward to reading about what you are reading! Happy 2016 and best of luck on your challenge! -BJ
😀 I’d love to follow your journey as well 😀 good luck with the challenge 😉
Good luck! I’m not doing the Popsugar Challenge, but I’m aiming to read 100 books for the Goodreads Challenge 🙂
Wow, 100 is so many books!!!! Good luck with it 😉
I also didn’t finish the 2015 one, I hate the pressure it puts on me! I just feel I need to finish it so I push myself in December and ended up in a reading slump 😀 That’s why I don’t participate in the 2016 one. Good luck with your challenges! 😀
I decided somewhere in october that finishing wasn’t that important 😀
I’m with you on both, although I only opted to hit 30 of the Popsugar requirements. I wasn’t exceptionally impressed with this year (definitely not to the infatuation I had for last year’s challenge). With you the best!!
i get you 😉 this year’s challenge is bound to be easier than last year’s though, because it already has 10 less categories…
Heck yes 🙂
Hey just curious? Are you like other blogs that take review requests at all? My book just came out a couple days ago and I’m looking for readers. I didn’t see a contact me box or anything so I was curious and didn’t know how to get a hold of you. Mine has a blue cover and published in 2016 😉 Just saying haha https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28096757-innuendos in case you are curious like me.
I’m with you for these challenges. I always do the Goodreads challenge going for 100 this year, but I have never heard of the pop sugar one looks fun. So thanks for bringing it to my attention 😀 V. Kelly
Hi. I do accept review requests, and my contact is in my About page: https://tinyobsessions.wordpress.com/about/ – I should probably rename it, lol :D. I would love to review your book, the blurb sounds super funny. The popsugar challenge was around last year too, though slightly different 😉
