Hello. This week I’ll share some photos from my trip to Rome, from the New Year from 2009 to 2010. I’m an unusual 30 something, because since forever I tend to spend my new year’s eve and day with my mom and grandma. It always happened like that, and I kind of like it – I don’t like crowds or anything like that. In 2009 my mom wanted to go to Rome, and my grandmother was still well enough to travel, so we decided to go, the 3 of us. I’ll admit, I love traveling with my mom, but my grandmother is a whole other business… I love her, but we clash a lot. A LOT!
Rome is a gorgeous city. It was my first time in Italy and I really loved it. We only stayed for a few days, so there wasn’t much time to see things properly and explore everything we wanted, but we did see some pretty cool places :).
By the way, I’m a sucker for ruins of any kind :D. The Colosseum was pretty cool :D, and so was the Roman Forum.
I would definitly like to go back there and explore some places. We didn’t have the chance to go to the Vatican museum or go to any museum for that matter. One thing that it’s absolutely great there is the food…. AMAZING!
So, have you been to Rome? What did you think?
How exciting! I’ll be going to Rome soon and your pictures made me that much more excited! Awesome pictures!
By the way, when did you go? I’m surprised at how empty it looks. I really hope I can avoid the crowds, but I don’t think that will be possible in April.
I went on new year of 2009/10. There were some crowds, but nothing extreme
😊😊😊
No, I haven’t so thanks for those beautiful pictures that allow me to experience it vicariously!
Please keep blogging about your traveling adventures. :]
I will 😊
I’d love to go to Italy some day ! It is up there with the places I want to go to the most !
That’s awesome 😊. I need to go to some other cities in Italy 😉
Those pictures are gorgeous! I would love to go to Rome someday 😀
Have you been to Italy, Marie???
I’ve been to Como and Milan so far, yes! 😀
oh, I would love to go to Como 😀
It’s so, so pretty! I actually have a blog post about that city coming up…soon, probably in two weeks (I’m was in a huge planning mood today, haha) 😀
that’s awesome. I’ll keep my eyes open for it 😉
Oh god I’d love to go to Italy! Actually I’m half Italian, I have citizenship and everything but I hadn’t been lucky enough to go just yet, but it is top of my bucket list. So glad you had fun and could travel with your mom, it’s so nice 🙂
it’s so cool that you have double citizenship :)!!! I actually travel with my mom a lot, at least once a year 🙂
Rome looks beautiful! I always enjoy your “Wandering About” posts 🙂
😉 thanks
No problem 🙂
I really want to go back to Rome; it’s one of my favourite cities 😀 Beautiful photos like always 🙂
thank you 🙂
I’ve actually never been to Rome, but I’ve been to Venice twice 😀
🙂 did you like it?
Yes, but only during the night. During the day there were too many people.
i’m curious about venice 🙂
It’s really beautiful! I like going to places by boat as well, so that was a plus. As I said though, very crowded! Like there are definitely more tourists than locals and that’s just sad. During the night everything calms down though and it can be that magical place it’s supposed to be.
i hate overcrowded places :(, that’s my main problem with barcelona
I get that! Me too! It makes me all nervous and uncomfortable.
and you can’t walk at your own pace… bah… i hate it
Oh god … I hate slow walkers in front of me, but at the same time I hate it when someone steps on my heels when I want to stop at a certain place.
yep, same. but the problem (at least here) is that if a group of 6 people are slow walking and stop, they occupy the whole sidewalk… they don’t give a f**k
Oh, that sucks …
