Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Books I Should Read

top 10 tuesday

Hello, welcome back to another Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is:

Ten Books Every X Should Read (up to you! Examples: every history nerd, memoir lover, ballet lover, feminist, college student, etc etc.)

This one is hard for me, I don’t’ feel qualified to sprout out 10 books in either category that YOU should read. Instead, I’m reversing it a bit, and making it about me – yep, this is my blog and I do what I want 😛 . So, I’m going to show you 10 books that I SHOULD read and the reasons why.

Ahah, I love your choice of topic this week, I should have done the same thing, to remind myself of the books I must read ahah 😛 I really need to read Me Before You as well, and YES do read The Selection and let’s chat about how annoying America is 😛

This is a great list! The first 6 books are all ones that I’ve read and loved. I just recently finished Me Before You (like you I wanted to read it before the movie comes out). It’s not my usual type of book, but it was very good. And I just finished my read of The Night Circus, I think it may have been even better the second time around. It’s such a good book!

OMG! YOU HAVE NOT READ ME BEFORE YOU OR UGLY LOVE!?!?! (Yes, I’m shouting at you!) That’s terrible. I loved them. I think you’ll love them. Oh, and The Night Circus, too. READ THEM!

Great choices! I have read almost all of them and they are great! Three I still need to read are Me Before You, Red Rising and The Selection even though I own both haha. I definitely want to read Me Before You before the movie comes out.

I feel the same about topics like this, recommending books I to others to read, I just don’t feel qualified enough to do so. Therefore, I didn’t manage to put together a list for this week’s TTT. This is still a good list! I’ve original had The Night Circus and Red Rising on my TBR list, and also feel the need to read them! Good list 😀 Nice take on this week’s topic!

Seriously, drop what you’re doing and read Little Women and Red Rising immediately. Then I need to hear everything you thought about them! Two of my all-time favorite books and I LOVE it when people read them. 🙂

  7. Lois says:

The Night circus and Red Rising are a must read. Both books are so captivating and the character dynamics are really interesting. I must confess, I’ve yet to read the Lord of the Rings yet, I mean unless you count my dad reading them to me when I was a child? But I do plan on reading the series by the end of the year cause I basically grew up with the franchise haha.

I need to read Me Before You as well! Everyone is just gushing about it and it seems right up my ally! Love your topic this week!

Oh my gosh I know right. Contemporaries are my favourite so if it’s done well there’s a high percent chance I’ll love it and I’m an emotional person and cry in books that aren’t even supposed to make me cry so I’ll probably be fine but yeah that hype for everyone else is probably intimidating :S

Great list! I have LOTR on my list as well and I have The Night Circus sitting on my shelf waiting to be read 🙂

  10. Carrianne says:

So I kind of love that you went with books that you should read. That’s so much simpler than I would’ve made it, haha.

I’m not gonna lie, internally I’m screaming and want to tell you to skip The Selection, however I think everyone should have a chance to make their own opinion on it. (Not that you’d listen to me anyway, lol.) Me Before You is currently sitting at home waiting for me to get to because I’ve been putting off reading. My friend read and loved The Night Circus, so now of course I have to read that.

    Great list!

If you want I can just explain to you why everyone hates America Singer from the Selection Series ;D Actually, have you ever seen ” The Selections with Barbies” that Epic Reads released on youtube? It’s really funny and it will give you a feel for the book series!

  12. thedaydreamingbookworm says:

YES! You definitely need to read Me Before You. It starts off a bit slow, but the ending was beautiful! I hope you like Ugly Love. I had some issues with Miles because I think he’s an ass XD, but I completely adore Tate. There’s also a song to go along with the book and it’s AMAZING! I literally tear up every time it plays on my iPod.

  13. Josephine says:

I personally enjoyed Ugly Love, I’d say that you might enjoy it! It made me cry, in fact!
And oh gosh, you must read Lord of the Rings! But be warned it is a big commitment and also, the author writes like a historian in a way – the style may not be completely suited to your tastes (I almost couldn’t get into it, but I’m glad I did!)

  14. Natasha says:

Love the list! I agree with all of them – I’ve only read Lord of The Rings on here. I would suggest it, but beware, it is a massive series to get through 🙂

  15. Kat Impossible says:

Love all the books on that list and will be so happy once you get to some of them in the near future. (You know which, so I don’t have to say anything)
BUT HOW HAVE YOU NEVER SEEN THE PRINCESS BRIDE`? That movie is the best and I associate it with so many happy memories. Like sleepover with friends and even guys being able to quote half of it.
