Hello, welcome back to another Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is:
Ten Books Every X Should Read (up to you! Examples: every history nerd, memoir lover, ballet lover, feminist, college student, etc etc.)
This one is hard for me, I don’t’ feel qualified to sprout out 10 books in either category that YOU should read. Instead, I’m reversing it a bit, and making it about me – yep, this is my blog and I do what I want 😛 . So, I’m going to show you 10 books that I SHOULD read and the reasons why.
Ahah, I love your choice of topic this week, I should have done the same thing, to remind myself of the books I must read ahah 😛 I really need to read Me Before You as well, and YES do read The Selection and let’s chat about how annoying America is 😛
eheh. I just wasn’t in the mood to push my faves, lol, I couldn’t find a suitable theme.
This is a great list! The first 6 books are all ones that I’ve read and loved. I just recently finished Me Before You (like you I wanted to read it before the movie comes out). It’s not my usual type of book, but it was very good. And I just finished my read of The Night Circus, I think it may have been even better the second time around. It’s such a good book!
😀 so you support my list then? 😉
OMG! YOU HAVE NOT READ ME BEFORE YOU OR UGLY LOVE!?!?! (Yes, I’m shouting at you!) That’s terrible. I loved them. I think you’ll love them. Oh, and The Night Circus, too. READ THEM!
LOL, I’ll read Ugly Love soon, because I’ll buy it as soon as I’m in portugal. I do own Me Before You and The Night Circus, but I haven’t been in the mood for them 🙂
I can understand that. I can’t wait to see what you think, though!
😉 i’ll keep you posted. Ugly love is on top of my list from Colleen Hoover, so it will happen soon
You HAVE to read The Selection – if only to fangirl over how awesome Maxon is 🙂
😀 eheh, i will, soon. the books have been shaming me down from their shelf
“Reeeead us, Cristina…..read us….”
LOLOL!!!
Great choices! I have read almost all of them and they are great! Three I still need to read are Me Before You, Red Rising and The Selection even though I own both haha. I definitely want to read Me Before You before the movie comes out.
eheh, everyone is reading Me Before You this year 😀
I feel the same about topics like this, recommending books I to others to read, I just don’t feel qualified enough to do so. Therefore, I didn’t manage to put together a list for this week’s TTT. This is still a good list! I’ve original had The Night Circus and Red Rising on my TBR list, and also feel the need to read them! Good list 😀 Nice take on this week’s topic!
thank you 🙂
Seriously, drop what you’re doing and read Little Women and Red Rising immediately. Then I need to hear everything you thought about them! Two of my all-time favorite books and I LOVE it when people read them. 🙂
i will… soonish!
There are several on here that I still need to read as well – you are not alone! 🙂 But yeah… read Little Women 😉 My TTT
i will 😉
What a great spin you decided to put on this tag. The fonts you used are SO PRETTY. I liked looking at your post as much as I enjoyed reading it.
oh, thank you 🙂
The Night circus and Red Rising are a must read. Both books are so captivating and the character dynamics are really interesting. I must confess, I’ve yet to read the Lord of the Rings yet, I mean unless you count my dad reading them to me when I was a child? But I do plan on reading the series by the end of the year cause I basically grew up with the franchise haha.
i would say having someone read them to you would classify as “read” 😉
Me Before You and Ugly Love are both amazing !!!
noted 🙂 😉
I need to read Me Before You as well! Everyone is just gushing about it and it seems right up my ally! Love your topic this week!
the hype is strong though. I feel like there’s a huge pressure to love the book and cry as hell while reading it.
Oh my gosh I know right. Contemporaries are my favourite so if it’s done well there’s a high percent chance I’ll love it and I’m an emotional person and cry in books that aren’t even supposed to make me cry so I’ll probably be fine but yeah that hype for everyone else is probably intimidating :S
Great list! I have LOTR on my list as well and I have The Night Circus sitting on my shelf waiting to be read 🙂
same as mine 🙂
So I kind of love that you went with books that you should read. That’s so much simpler than I would’ve made it, haha.
I’m not gonna lie, internally I’m screaming and want to tell you to skip The Selection, however I think everyone should have a chance to make their own opinion on it. (Not that you’d listen to me anyway, lol.) Me Before You is currently sitting at home waiting for me to get to because I’ve been putting off reading. My friend read and loved The Night Circus, so now of course I have to read that.
Great list!
Yeah, I bought the selection trilogy a while back, and it still has the plastic protection and everything. I think i’ll be angry at the books, but I need to find out for myself, you know?
Definitely! It’s not all bad, actually. But my favorite (used lightly) book was The One. It just…felt different from the others.
i’ll keep that in mind 🙂
Nice list! All of these books are on my list as well!!
😀
If you want I can just explain to you why everyone hates America Singer from the Selection Series ;D Actually, have you ever seen ” The Selections with Barbies” that Epic Reads released on youtube? It’s really funny and it will give you a feel for the book series!
I’ve heard so much about America… I never saw that one though.
Here’s the link to the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tRmanz1cS4 You should definitely check it out, it’s really funny 😉
thank you 😀
I would so tell you to read any other Collen Hoover book first because I did not like that one. But it also depends on how you like your NA romance
i want to read all of her books :D, so it shouldn’t really matter which ones go first, right? Still, i know this one is polarizing, so I’m curious.
I think it’s a good idea to start with the first published books so you can see the progress of the authors writing but I get why you wanted to start with that one since I started with that one haha
lol 😀
I loved the selection series so much. I hope you like it once you get the chance to read it? I highly recommend it!!
good 🙂
Ooh yes, we both so need to read Me Before You! I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about it. 🙂 Hope you enjoy reading Ugly Love!
i feel like everyone will be racing to finish the book before the movie comes out 😀
Haha I know, right?! 😀
YES! You definitely need to read Me Before You. It starts off a bit slow, but the ending was beautiful! I hope you like Ugly Love. I had some issues with Miles because I think he’s an ass XD, but I completely adore Tate. There’s also a song to go along with the book and it’s AMAZING! I literally tear up every time it plays on my iPod.
confession time: I’ve listened to the music, it’s on my spotify playlist, and i love it!
LOL, did you listen to November 9 too? Major spoilers in that song XD
NO, that one I didn’t listen to. I did listen to Maybe Someday and I’m totally in love with that song
I’m just basically in love with Griffin Peterson himself, haha. He’s so adorable!
i have to agree 😀
The Selection & Ugly Love 🙌🏻🙌🏻
The Selection series because it’s one of the best YA series I’ve read.
Ugly Love because it’s practically perfection. CoHo can do no wrong!
yay for both books 😀
I personally enjoyed Ugly Love, I’d say that you might enjoy it! It made me cry, in fact!
And oh gosh, you must read Lord of the Rings! But be warned it is a big commitment and also, the author writes like a historian in a way – the style may not be completely suited to your tastes (I almost couldn’t get into it, but I’m glad I did!)
lol, that’s my thing with LotR, I feel like I need to be in the perfect mood to get into it. what do i read first? The Hobbit? Or LotR?
I’d say to read The Hobbit first. It’s easier to read in my opinion, and it’s a great story – i think it will be a good lead up for you!
good! I own the hobbit 😀
Love the list! I agree with all of them – I’ve only read Lord of The Rings on here. I would suggest it, but beware, it is a massive series to get through 🙂
that’s what I’m afraid of 🙂
I loved this list Christina! Though The Selection will make you pull your hair out to no end :p
LOL, oh, I hope not… i like my hair!
Love all the books on that list and will be so happy once you get to some of them in the near future. (You know which, so I don’t have to say anything)
BUT HOW HAVE YOU NEVER SEEN THE PRINCESS BRIDE`? That movie is the best and I associate it with so many happy memories. Like sleepover with friends and even guys being able to quote half of it.
