I make my living as a hustler, and I’m great at it.
I don’t have a single tell and I use that to my advantage to manipulate any situation.
I’ve always known what a person is about to do before they’ve even decided. That is, until I met Penelope.
I can’t get a read on her, and what’s worse, she doesn’t want anything to do with me.
Which only makes me want her more. Now I’m in for the hardest hustle of my life.
Somehow I have to convince her she belongs with me.
Good thing I’m always up for a challenge.
First and foremost, I read this book with Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much, so go to her blog in the next couple of days to read her take on this book.
Your know when the cover has very little to do with the story? Yeah, this is one of those cases.
I really enjoyed the writing on this one. The book is told in dual POV, from Gavin and Penelope’s POVs, and both their voices are funny as hell, and quite distinct – which is always welcomed when we have dual POV.
As characters, I liked both of them, though I have to say that no matter how awesome the banter and the interactions between Gavin and Nell were, Gavin was not my kind of guy. I liked that he was cocky and he knew how to play life, but he was just a little too much alpha for my liking. But I did love how Nell responded to him when he was being prissy, so it was kind of perfect. Penelope was feisty! 😀
The romance was fantastic! It was insta-attraction, for sure, but it was funny to see Nell trying to deny her feelings and seeing Gavin chase her around. It caused a lot of hilarious situations! Then it was good to see their layers peeling off, while they feel for each other. I was also a fan of the conflict and its resolve, because I like when the issues come from within – I’m weird! Also, OMG, was that HOT!
Just a side note to say how much I loved their friends!!! I’m sensing 2 more books coming our way, and I would be ecstatic to see it. I need a book about Page and Graham, because I need to know what the hell happened between them, and because Page is amazingly funny! And then I want to see Scott finally taming Davies, because I loved Scott!!
So, if you’re into the new adult genre, and like a little chase romance, give this one a chance! You’ll definitly have a great time reading it.
