I make my living as a hustler, and I’m great at it.
I don’t have a single tell and I use that to my advantage to manipulate any situation.
I’ve always known what a person is about to do before they’ve even decided.
That is, until I met Penelope.
I can’t get a read on her, and what’s worse, she doesn’t want anything to do with me.
Which only makes me want her more.
Now I’m in for the hardest hustle of my life.
Somehow I have to convince her she belongs with me.
Good thing I’m always up for a challenge.
First and foremost, I read this book with Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much, so go to her blog in the next couple of days to read her take on this book.
Your know when the cover has very little to do with the story? Yeah, this is one of those cases.
I really enjoyed the writing on this one. The book is told in dual POV, from Gavin and Penelope’s POVs, and both their voices are funny as hell, and quite distinct – which is always welcomed when we have dual POV.
As characters, I liked both of them, though I have to say that no matter how awesome the banter and the interactions between Gavin and Nell were, Gavin was not my kind of guy. I liked that he was cocky and he knew how to play life, but he was just a little too much alpha for my liking. But I did love how Nell responded to him when he was being prissy, so it was kind of perfect. Penelope was feisty! 😀
The romance was fantastic! It was insta-attraction, for sure, but it was funny to see Nell trying to deny her feelings and seeing Gavin chase her around. It caused a lot of hilarious situations! Then it was good to see their layers peeling off, while they feel for each other. I was also a fan of the conflict and its resolve, because I like when the issues come from within – I’m weird! Also, OMG, was that HOT!
Just a side note to say how much I loved their friends!!! I’m sensing 2 more books coming our way, and I would be ecstatic to see it. I need a book about Page and Graham, because I need to know what the hell happened between them, and because Page is amazingly funny! And then I want to see Scott finally taming Davies, because I loved Scott!!
So, if you’re into the new adult genre, and like a little chase romance, give this one a chance! You’ll definitly have a great time reading it.

Yes yes and yes. I completely agree with everything as you probably already knew. Can we have Page and Graham’s book now?? I want to know what the hell happened between them. I also loved Page and I need her book asap
Page was hilarious. the things that came out of her mouth were epic! 😀 I’m preparing myself for Graham, I’m pretty sure he’ll be a huge asshole most of the time 😀
He’s going to be a complete asshole but their fights will be hilarious and I want to read that. Imagine how much Page will mess with his head now that she’s living in the hotel and that they have to see each other more often now that Penelope and Gavin are dating XD
EHEH!!!! It will be awesome. Oh, I do hope there’s a plan for future books, it would be a shame if those 2 stories never came to life.
The other two books have to be planned. The way they showed Page and Graham and Davies and Scott has to mean something right?? I need those books in my life
i hope so too! I don’t want to be so bold as to ask the authors, but I’m kind of hitching to do just that…
You can ask and then tell me their answer XD
LOL. i tagged them on the tweet…
Me too but no one answered to that XD
same. one of them liked it, but that was it
That’s what happened with me too
The other author just liked my tweet too. Maybe we’ll get answers now
An excellently informative book review.
Curious: does the hustler in question work with women or men?
Neither. He’s a poker player
Ah! I see what you mean about the cover not making sense now!
lol, see? 😉 and he also has a perfect poker face, and he doesn’t throw away smiles like that 😉
Your review has me heading over to NetGalley to request this even though I already have a ton of books to read!
😀 It’s a fun fun read! 😀
I want to read this book but I’m hesitating due to the cover. After reading your thoughts, I’ve changed my mind. 😀
🙂 this book is hilarious! (ignore the awful cover)
