Musical Mondays: Lost Stars by Keira Knightley/Adam Levine

If you’ve seen my review of Begin Again, you know how much I loved the movie, so I thought it was fitting to feature the movie’s main song today… mostly because I love it. I’m putting up the 2 versions of this song, the one sang by Keira Knightley and then the one done by Adam Levine. Please tell me which one is your favorite version, because I keep bouncing between the 2.

Please don’t see just a boy caught up in dreams and fantasies
Please see me reaching out for someone I can’t see
Take my hand let’s see where we wake up tomorrow
Best laid plans sometimes are just a one night stand
I’d be damned Cupid’s demanding back his arrow
So let’s get drunk on our tears and

God, tell us the reason youth is wasted on the young
It’s hunting season and the lambs are on the run
Searching for meaning
But are we all lost stars, trying to light up the dark?

Who are we? Just a speck of dust within the galaxy?
Woe is me, if we’re not careful turns into reality
Don’t you dare let our best memories bring you sorrow
Yesterday I saw a lion kiss a deer
Turn the page maybe we’ll find a brand new ending
Where we’re dancing in our tears and

God, tell us the reason youth is wasted on the young
It’s hunting season and the lambs are on the run
Searching for meaning
But are we all lost stars, trying to light up the dark? ooh

And I thought I saw you out there crying, ooh
And I thought I heard you call my name, yeah, yeah
And I thought I heard you out there crying, oh
Just the same, oh, yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

God, give us the reason youth is wasted on the young
It’s hunting season and this lamb is on the run
Searching for meaning
But are we all lost stars, trying to light up the dark? ooh

And I thought I saw you out there crying, ooh
And I thought I heard you call my name, ooh
And I thought I heard you out there crying, oh

But are we all lost stars, trying to light up the dark?
But are we all lost stars, trying to light up the dark?

Rookie Move (Sarina Bowen)

In high school they were the perfect couple — until the day Georgia left Leo in the cold…

Hockey player Leo Trevi has spent the last six years trying to do two things: get over the girl who broke his heart, and succeed in the NHL. But on the first day he’s called up to the newly franchised Brooklyn Bruisers, Leo gets checked on both sides, first by the team’s coach — who has a long simmering grudge, and then by the Bruisers’ sexy, icy publicist — his former girlfriend Georgia Worthington.

Saying goodbye to Leo was one of the hardest things Georgia ever had to do — and saying hello again isn’t much easier. Georgia is determined to keep their relationship strictly professional, but when a press conference microphone catches Leo declaring his feelings for her, things get really personal, really fast….

As it should come to no surprise by now, I’ve read Rookie Move with Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much, as a buddy read, so check out her blog in the next couple of days for her take on it.

So far, everything I’ve read by Sarina Bowen, I loved! This book was no exception. Once again the writing was captivating, and really enjoyable. I’m more of a 1st person narrative fan, so the fact that the book was told in the third person was not my favorite thing, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I loved both main characters, that’s not much to say about it: they’re AMAZING! Actually, I kind of liked everyone in this book. Georgia was fierce and strong, whether she was Princess or Killer, she was awesome all the way. And Leo? Leo was kind of dreamy! The way he knew what he wanted and went after it was great. But mostly, the way he loved Georgia was the most amazing thing of all.

Their connection and relationship was great as well. Even though we don’t get to see how their first relationship went, we get a few glimpses, that are enough to let us know the depth of which it went and how perfect they are for each other, since the time they were both 16. Their connection as adults is even better, because they have known the difference between being with each other and without, and with is definitly the better option.

The plot is great as well, and I liked that their conflicts came from within, from their own fears and limitations, and not from external sources.

All in all, I really loved this story. It was cute and funny and heartfelt, and it made me laugh and cry and swoon like crazy. I can’t wait for the next story in this series.
