Stripped (Piper Lawson)

“I’ve been in New York four weeks. I’m behind on the spring line, days from homeless, and getting sued by the only person in the whole damn city who’s seen me naked.”

Ava Cameron has stars in her eyes. When the feisty designer moves to NYC after graduation with her best friend, things are finally clicking into place.

But now their brand new label, Travesty, is under attack.

The man leading the charge is the hottest hookup Ava ever had. One she never wanted to see again…

Nate Townsend might be from the right schools, the right neighborhood and the right family. But under the surface, his scars run deep.

When the society prince and the loud designer come face to face on a case that could decide Ava’s future, sparks fly.

Nate’s not about to let Ava forget she’s the only person who knows his secrets. And Ava’s walking the line between getting Travesty back on track and being dragged into the gutter by one stubborn young lawyer planning to take her down.

If Nate Townsend didn’t make the gutter look so damn good…

Hey guys, once again, I read this book as a buddy read with  Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too, so go check out her blog in the next few days for her take on this one.

This was my third Piper Lawson’s book, and I think this one is my favorite! The book was highly entertaining and I absolutely loved it.

It didn’t start out well though… for the first 20% of the book, I wasn’t getting into it, the characters were annoying me and I was slightly confused by the story. But then, once certain things get out of the way, I started enjoying it more and more, and I fell in love with the characters completely.

Once again, I loved Piper’s writing, and OMG, the chemistry!!! The way she wrote some scenes… *sigh*! I do think that if the book was organized in a different way, it might have worked better, because I honestly couldn’t get my head around what had happened between Ava and Nate on their one-night-stand to warrant a reaction like she had. I think that for this one, it might have worked better to have the whole “one-night-stand” episode and THEN go ahead 6 months.

After my initial problem with her, I ended up loving Ava. I loved her strong personality and brash comments. I loved her truth bombs and how she stood up for herself. She was amazing! And then there was Nate, and although he messed up, I understood the why, and he was so perfect for Ava. They balanced each other out so perfectly. And have I mentioned the crazy CHEMISTRY?! It was off the charts HOT!!!

I do wish that some issues had been dealt in more depth, but I overall really enjoyed the plot and the storyline. And I could have read another 300 pages of Nate and Ava together, because they were that good.

I will surely keep reading Piper Lawson’s books, I will read Schooled (the first book of the series) and I’ll patiently wait for the next one of the series, which I’m assuming is Jordan’s story. I want them all! Well done! And if you haven’t read any book by this author, what the hell are you waiting for????
