Happy 4th Blogiversary to My Tiny Obsessions!!!!

4thblogiversary

People! My blog turns 4 years today!!!

4thblogiversary_1Last year I explained a bit how and why I decided to start a blog, but My Tiny Obsessions only turned into a book blog in the middle of 2015. I still try to have more diverse content, such as posts about music, TV and movies, but I’m not watching that much TV lately, so I’ve been lacking on that department.

Let me just make a few comments on how the last year of blogging went here, ok?

  • In the past year I had over 100,000 views from over 50,000 viewers (my total is now 255k views and 149k viewers);
  • I gathered over 22,000 likes and over 9,000 comments (which brings my total to 34k likes and 18k comments!);
  • I wrote over 600 posts during the last year, which means I have over 1600 posts on this blog;
  • 1,782 WordPress followers and 2,625 total followers (last year I had 763 WP and 1,230 total followers);
  • I started reading a lot more Romance and Contemporary and I like it;
  • I got eARCs from some of my favorite authors this year, and again, I liked it!

Overall, it was a good blogging year for me, and I hope I keep doing this for a long time to come.

A huge THANK YOU to all my followers and blogger friends!
you make this worthwhile :D.

Kisses on a Paper Airplane (Sarah Vance-Tompkins)

kissesonapaperairplane

Drama student Hannah Evans isn’t kissing any frogs on her path to find Prince Charming. She’s determined to share the perfect first kiss — with the perfect boy — in the perfect place — or she’s not kissing at all. When Hannah meets a cute ginger-haired boy in first class lounge in the London airport, she knows he’s ‘The One.’

Pop star Theo Callahan is on the road to get as far away as possible from his back-stabbing best friend, and his supermodel girlfriend who broke his heart. Until one shy smile from Hannah has him rethinking all of his travel plans.

Theo is smitten, but he’s worried she’s just a groupie in search of the ultimate selfie. Can Theo learn to trust Hannah in time to share one perfect first kiss, or will Hannah be forced to kiss a frog?

OMG, what took me so long to finally pick this up?! I’ve had this eARC on my kindle for ages, as in, since August, but I haven’t had the time or the mood to pick it up. But because I’ve vowed to be better at reading my galleys this year, and my goal is to read my backlogged ARCs from Netgalley, I decided to start this one, and it was a great decision.

This is a very short book, VERY VERY SHORT, and that was my main complaint about it, because I needed more. Because the writing was absolutely fabulous. Sarah Vance-Tompkins tells this book through the POVs of both Hannah and Theo, though Theo’s are few and far between, and they are on the first person! The narration is so funny and clever. I was laughing the whole time :).

The story was so cute and sweet! I was rooting for Hannah and Theo to kiss already, because they were just so adorable together. The characters are not 100% fleshed out, because, again, this is a super short book, but enough of their personalities and issues are dealt with. I really like how Theo helped Hannah to look at what she had a little differently and value life a little more. Hannah, in turn, showed Theo that it was ok to trust again and let go.

Obviously this is a case of instant attraction, but these two spend 2 days through 3 airports together, and end up talking about pretty important things for both of them, so the story made sense to me, even if a little too perfect. Speaking of which, I want a 1st class airport lounge like the one described in the book…

Guys, if you’re looking for a fast, small and super cute contemporary romance read, give Kisses on a Paper Airplane a chance.

Book Traveling Thursdays: A Book I Would Like to Read for the 1st Time… Again

btt_gold

Hello, welcome back to another Book Traveling 168709Thursdays, which a weekly meme created by Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @Danielle’s Book Blog. The goal is to share the covers of a book related to that week’s theme, which you can see at the Goodreads group, indicating the original cover, the one of your country, your favorite and least favorite.

This week’s theme is “New beginnings… Choose a book you would like to read for the first time again“. I’m so bad at this! And I think I’ve used all the books I would like to read as the first time all over again… but I’m going with Night Owls by Jenn Bennett because this book was amazing, and I wouldn’t like experiencing it for the first time again.

Original & Favorite COver:

I love the UK original cover. Luckily it’s the one I own :D.

COVER FROM MY COUNTRY (PORTUGAL) & COVER FROM THE COUNTRY I LIVE IN (SPAIN):

This book is not out in either country yet.

LEAST FAVORITE COVER(s):

These are my least favorite ones. I don’t hate the US cover, but I don’t really like it, even though I think the US title is more appropriate than the original UK one. Then there’s the Brazilian cover, again, I don’t hate it, but I don’t really like it either. Finally the German edition… just NO.
