Top Ten Tuesday: It has it? I want it!

Hello, welcome back to another Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is:

Top Ten Things That Will Make Me Instantly Want To Read A Book (topic originally done back in 2013 as top ten words/topics that will make me instantly want to read a book) — so yeah basically any topic or theme or ANYTHING (ie if X person recommends it) that will make you instantly want to pick up a book. My list will likely be called Jamie-bait because there are soooo certain things you can say in a summary or a review that will just instantly draw me to it!

This should be an easy one…

1. Beautiful Covers

I’m a sucker for a gorgeous cover. I have to admit that I sometimes request books on netgalley without even reading the blurb…

2. Sports Romance

Is this news to anyone? Especially Hockey!

3. College Romance

Same as the above!!!

4. Geeky Things

When a book mentions geeky things in the blurb, I want it.

5. All the ships

I’ll ship them all, so if a book has them, I want it.

6. Lay Lines

Incredibly, I’m digging this!!! Damn, I blame The Raven Boys for this.

7. Unique formats

Unique formats lige Illuminae really get me going.

8. Rom Coms

They’re usually so much fun, so I love them.

9. Book recommendations

When someone I trust recommends a book to me, I don’t even think twice.

10. Auto-buy authors

If one of my favorites is dropping a book, I’m gonna want to buy it.

YES to lay lines! I blame Maggie Stiefvater for so many aspects of my reading taste haha 🙂 Do you know of any other great books that talk about lay lines? I’ve never been able to find many others. Great list!

Great list! I’m a sucker for pretty covers and well and I’m so with you on requesting books from netgalley just for that reason. Then I get approved and realise im not actually that interested in the synopsis 🙈 Oops!

haha The Raven Boys had me wanting to find the ley lines around my local area and then coincidentally the topic came up in one of my lectures which was all kinds of awesome but creepy at the same time.
