Random Casting News

A lot of things have come out on this last days about the castings for the new shows and existing shows coming this fall.

First of all is a not so very good news (at least for me): Captain Gates is no more. Yes, Castle will not have the adorably grumpy Captain coming fall, as Penny Johnson Jerald will not be returning for season 8. I really don’t like this, and I suspect that the game plan will be putting Beckett in charge of the 12th, but I don’t think that’s right… that’s jumping way to many hoops to get there.

On a much happier note, Sendhil Ramamurthy will reprise his role as Mohinder in Heroes Reborn. I always loved Mohinder, and I LOVE Sandhil, so I’m pretty excited about this!

Speaking of Heroes of some sort, Arrow’s Tommy will move to Chicago. Yes, Colin Donnell is the new series regular at Chicago Med, and he’s thought to be playing a doctor in pediatrics… oh my… By the way, Chicago Med was just pushed up to the fall!!!!! Yeah!

Joel McHale, fresh out of Community, just landed the first guest role in the X-Files revival. He’ll be playing Tad O’Malley, who is a conservative Internet news anchor who becomes an unlikely support for Mulder. Excitement forming!

And I guess it’s time to catch up on Elementary, as John Noble was cast to play Sherlock’s dad next season!!!

Agents of SHIELD upped two of its members to series regular, Henry Simmons, who plays Mack and newcomer Luke Mitchell, a.k.a. Lincoln. I’m quite happy about this, though not having yet seen the last 5 episodes of the season, I’m a bit wary of both of them. In the meantime, I really want to know what’s Nick Blood’s status, because that’s the one I want to stick around.

If I still watched Grey’s Anatomy, I would be pretty happy about this news. Jason George was just promoted to series regular. I’m still happy for Jason though, I absolutely love him 🙂 .

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: What They Become

What they become alright!!! What a magnificent episode, they just keeps getting better! Not only did they deliver a fantastical mid-season finale, they also just opened up a whole new universe… well done Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

  • Melinda May!!! You badass!
  • Skye’s dad is psycho… I was so moved when he was talking to her and then he went and was like “now I’m gonna kill that guy, no biggie!”. Kyle MacLachlan is crazy good at being crazy scary.
  • I really like Bobbi and Hunter, it’s a real shame that she’s keeping something from him, because he really does love her.

  • “Join S.H.I.E.L.D., travel to exotic distant lands, meet exciting, unusual people … and kill them.” – seriously, how can anyone not like Hunter?! He’s hilarious and has the most awesome accent!
  • FitzSimmons… my babies! They haven’t been this in sync for such a long time…
  • Did Skye just put three bullets in Ward?! WOW! I didn’t know she had it in her!

  • Skye be like “Coulson is my real daddy!”
  • Thank the heavens that Mack is alright. But poor Coulson, he was beat up a lot in this episode. I don’t know if I like Raina anymore…
  • WOW! That scene… wow! The effects were breathtaking, and Skye… wow! And the Terrigen Crystals… wow! And Raina, what did she become?!

  • Skye, or should I say Daisy Johnson, or maybe Quake?! And wow, Inhuman and with powers… Skye just took a few steps up.

  • Tripp… if you hadn’t kicked the thing you wouldn’t have turn to stone and then to dust… oh… I knew it was coming and still I cried like a baby… =( bring him back… please! He’s just so cool and I like him so much…

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: …Ye Who Enter Here

Wow, what an episode, I’m still catching my breath…

B.J. BRITT, CHLOE BENNETT, IAIN DE CAESTECKER, MING-NA WEN, CLARK GREGG, NICK BLOOD, HENRY SIMMONS, ELIZABETH HENSTRIDGE, BRETT DALTON

This week, the team finally finds the location of the hidden city, one half of the team is dispatched there to gain access before HYDRA, while the other half stays behind to protect Raina from Whitehall. Meanwhile we find out that to enter the city you have to be worthy (and it so happens that the guys there don’t have reception on their phones =/ ). HYDRA manages to get into the Bus and Ward takes Raina and Skye with him. The episode ends horrible, with the bus exploding, Skye with Ward and Mac at the bottom of a pit!

  • Triplett can get shot more often… just saying that if everytime he does, he appears shirtless, I won’t complain about it (and neither will Jemma, by the looks of her…).

  • What kind of secret are Bobbi and Mac keeping from Hunter?!
  • Really cool all the scenes with Patton Oswalt playing the “twins” Billy and Sam Koenig…
  • Also, where can I buy that umbrella?!
  • Please tell me that Mac somehow survives, and unharmed, I couldn’t bear to lose him, I like him too much on this show.

  • I love Skye, but there’s no amount of (unseen) training that would put her on the same level as agent 33, given the years she has of active duty. Still, it’s pretty cool to have someone with May’s face all messed up.

  • Ward is just downright annoying nowadays.
  • That tension between Fitz and Simmons… wow! I get that she got overwhelmed; everything happened very fast, I also think that she hasn’t realized yet just how much she loves him, but I do hope she figures it out soon. It was so nice to have them in sync (even if just for a minute), I have missed that.

  • I really liked that Coulson is feeling more like Coulson each day. There are no acceptable casualties… oh Phil… I DO like you!

  • Raina is starting to get on my nerves as well… always doing what’s in her best interest… LOL… anyway, something tells me that something will happen to her before the end of the season.

  • That last scene with agent 33 was weird, for a moment I thought that maybe the one in the car was really May somehow…

In how many pieces can SHIELD break my heart?!

MARVEL’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. came back with a different (and awesome) vibe. A lot of new faces, a new location, new responsibilities. But the real question is: how heartbreaking was it?! The answer?! A LOT!!! MUCH MORE THAN IT SHOULD! Warning, it will contain spoilers…

B.J. BRITT, CHLOE BENNETT, IAIN DE CAESTECKER, MING-NA WEN, CLARK GREGG, NICK BLOOD, HENRY SIMMONS, ELIZABETH HENSTRIDGE, BRETT DALTON

1. The first couple of minutes broke my heart for all the right reasons: Agent freaking Carter and two of the Howling Commandos!!! That’s right! The episode opens in 1945, with Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), Jim Morita (Kenneth Choi) and Dum Dum Dugan (Neal McDonough) – reprising their roles from Captain America: the First Avenger, doing groundwork against HYDRA, setting the newly founded S.H.I.E.L.D., and it’s glorious! – Drum roll for tear number 1, 2 and 3!

2. Leo Fitz… There’s a constant reminder throughout the episode that Fitz is very clearly not alright. He has trouble remembering words and forming coherent speech, most of the times managing to do so with the help of Simmons… – a lost count of the tears by now, seriously, Fitz is like that man-child that under no circumstances should be hurt, never, ever… and he has, and it hurts. Brilliant job by Iain De Caestecker through the whole episode.

3. All the new faces, for what? Seriously people, what’s wrong with you? How do you figure: “let’s introduce all these great characters and then let’s kill most of them by the end of the hour.”?! Four new agents were introduced: Lance Hunter (Nick Blood), Izzy Hartley (Lucy Lawless), Mac (Henry Simmons) and Idaho (Wilmer Calderon). But by the end of the hour, and after Hunter performs and amputation on Hartley, two of them are killed. I was shocked, I thought that Lucy Lawless would be, for sure, a recurring guest star, I mean, she’s freaking Xena! – Tears number… (something) – this twist surprised me, it showed that they have balls on that show, and that this season is going to be unpredictable!

4. No hugs?! I was expecting Coulson to at least give one small little hug to Skye… but no… sad!

5. Melinda “mama” May! Oh yeah, May is in full protective mode. She’s more “human”, I like her even more!

6. It’s all a matter of priorities. Coulson establishes in this episode that he has stepped in his role as SHIELD director, which means that he had to set his priorities straight and think about the greater good and not on what’s best for the people he loves. This is heartbreaking, because you know he has to be like that, but it’s like losing the part of Phil Coulson that I love. Let’s see what the next episode brings.

7. And it turns out, there was no Simmons there after all… yeah, Simmons left, apparently because she felt that Fitz would be better off without her. Except that he isn’t. He sees her, he only talks to her and she’s just a figment of his imagination, of his need for her… I’m curious to what led her to make her decision, because there better be a good explanation, otherwise, I don’t know if I can forgive her 😦 !!!
