BANGED: Rock Stars, Bad Boys & Dirty Deeds

banged

I should warn you that when I requested this bundle I thought that the books would be all New Adult with a dash of Erotic romance… turns out it was just the opposite, so all books are sex heavy, with the lightest one being More Than Music. So, this is definitely not fit for a younger audience, as some books deal with alternative forms of sex… you have been warned!

She’s the daughter of rock royalty. He’s been warned off her by her famous father. But Jed Brody has lusted after Chloe Blackthorne for four years, and when Chloe lets him know the lust is entirely mutual, nothing will stop the bad boy of rock claiming her as his. Career be damned.

This Anthology starts with a bang! Lust’s Rhythm starts with an almost hypnotic way… the first chapter got me hooked, I liked the writing THAT MUCH! I really liked both characters, Jed and Chloe were kind of adorable, and their relationship was adorbs too. It moved way too fast, but I think that Lexxie Couper did a great job in setting their relationship up, and letting us know that despite having just actually met for the first time, these two had been in each other’s lives (and in an important way) for four years. And more importantly, they had amazing chemistry…

I do realize that I would have liked the story better if I read the other books in the series, but because I hadn’t, Chloe’s father and brother sounded a bit douchey to me. Either way, great start for this bundle…

When a beautiful former fling blasts back into his life, jaded rock star Darko Dunne’s peaceful seclusion on a private island comes to an explosive end. Faced with a band of ruthless criminals and a ticking clock, Darko and Muireann must pool their resources to rescue the baby he never knew he had.

Ok, Goodreads didn’t let me rate this one 0 stars, but I can do it here, right? This was definitely the worst book I ever read! I liked absolutely nothing about this story, which makes me so so sad. The plot was atrocious, so were the characters, there was zero chemistry between the main couple and the sex was so badly written… nothing worked for me here.

It was such a shame, especially because Darko had potential, given that he was facing depression and was stepping away from his band, but it all got lost in a plot that involved a lot of guns, a baby, a desert island and a french cook that was not what he seemed like. Did I mention that the sex was awful?! bahhhhh….

When Hailey crashes a Half-Life after party, she expects to find the bastard who knocked up her little sister. Instead she meets the sexy front-man who agrees to give her access to his crew if she gives him access to her body.

All Lock demands in return is three days of complete control over the Sunday School teacher. With a contract, because he’s been burned before. One misstep could send the band—and his tenuous sobriety—up in flames.

Hailey and Lock push each other’s limits… Against the penthouse window. Backstage. In the limo and on the elevator. But as the contract counts down, neither are ready for the party to end.

This book actually had a good premise and the plot was kind of good, it definitely had some twists that I did not see coming. But unfortunately the writing did not do it for me, it tried too hard to be lyrical at times, especially in the more intimate situations, and I didn’t like it.

About the characters… I tried to sympathize with Hailey, but after the first day I just couldn’t… no matter how attracted you are to a guy you never met, you don’t sign a contract allowing him to do ANYTHING to you… I don’t know… isn’t it weird? I kind of liked Lock, lol, surprisingly, and I felt that his character had a LOT of potential. There was a parallel story to theirs, about Hailey’s sister and the guy who knocked her up, and I honestly liked that story line better than the main one.

This book was a lot more erotica than I was expecting, and I mean a LOT MORE. Some situations were fun and hot, but there was a particular moment of light BDSM that I didn’t like because it felt so out of place… There’s also a threesome, and some guy to guy action, and I’m pretty sure that the main male character is bi and slightly in love with his best friend, but the situation was loaded and the book didn’t explain it, and I felt that it should have. There was a lot of tension and unsaid things between the two guys and I, as a reader, was totally lost to most of it.

Nathaniel Darke: She knows just how to press all my buttons. Bass-playing bitch, crawling under my skin. I want to believe one good shag will cure me of her. But instead, I end up addicted.

Loveday Trevaskis: Nathaniel Darke is a perverted tit fucker, I know because I let him fuck mine. He’s my enemy. I ought to run away from him as far and fast as I can. But I don’t.

OOOOHHHHH! I liked this one so much! But it was so short!!! But I’ll definitely want to read the rest of this series. Nate won me over when he allowed his brother to be beat up by his ex, eheh, and Loveday was just super cool, that girl knew what she wanted ;-).

I’m a sucker for first person present tense, especially when both main characters are funny as hell, and British to boot. I loved the writing, it was funny and witty, and the plot was simple but worked well, and I’m curious to see what will become of the band. And Nate and Loveday had amazing chemistry and I loved it.

He’s the rockstar she doesn’t recognize. She’s the fighter he’ll never forget. Nothing stings as much as the first hit…or hurts so good.

This story has so much damn potential, I will be continuing this series, for sure, because I want to know more about Evie and Johnny. But it got me a long while to actually get into the writing style and the main character, Evie. The British slang is strong on this one, but my problem was that Evie cursed more often than not. I don’t usually mind it, but right off the bat it made it hard to connect with her, and given that this is only told in her POV, it was hard. But once she and Johnny were together, and things started to heat up, this book was damn amazing! (I would say that the first part would be 1* and the rest would go up to almost 5*).

The chemistry with these 2 was off the charts and their time together was hot as hell! I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

Wilson: Tabitha Leyton is a mess, but now she’s my mess. To the rest of the world, she’s a superstar. Secretly, she’s a witness to depravity and a train wreck waiting to happen. But I can’t get her out of my head. And for one angry, secret night, we have each other in every imaginable way. The whole time, I know she’s off-limits. So in the morning, I’ll walk away. Officially.

Ok, I only had one small (huge) problem with this story: IT WAS TOO DAMN SHORT. I did like the pull between Tabitha and Wilson, and both characters have enough hidden to make them extremely interesting. Also, despite the title, I didn’t find this novella as “dirty” as some of the other stories, in fact, it was super well written.

When geeky guitarist Maddie Taylor joins tattooed rock star Jared Cross’s band to compete on a reality TV show, their attraction becomes impossible to resist—but their forbidden romance might tear their band apart and cost them everything.

It should come to no surprise that I loved this book, just as I loved all the others in this series. This was the one I really wanted to read, because I already loved the characters so much. The writing is amazing, and so is the plot. You can read my full review of this book here.

Sex is the last thing on his mind, or he wishes it was…

Spook Mortensen has one rule when it comes to relationships: just say no. He has his reasons. Good reasons. His policy of total abstinence has kept him out of trouble for years. Sex ought to be the last thing on his mind, but whenever go-getting sound engineer Allegra Hutton shows up, she doesn’t just hijack his libido, she downright screws with hit. The only way to deal with her is to tie her up. Alle realises she’s upsetting Spook’s rhythm, but she’s under no illusion that he’s the right top to warm her bottom.

Hmmm, I don’t even know how to start with this one. This novella is the follow up to another novella, Remastered, when Spook and Alle meet, so I went ahead and read that one before going on with this one, because I was a bit lost. I liked this one better than the first, but in both I really liked Spook, but I’m still not convinced about Allegra – by the way, where can I buy her small purse that fits a pack of condoms and a vibrator?! Because I’m pretty sure that party bags don’t have that kind of size… Moving on… Spook is an interesting character, and I’m curious to actually read the next book to find out what the hell happened that made him abstinent.

I was curious about Xane’s character though, and I can even see myself reaching for this series to learn more about his sexual fluidity, because I found that unusual and different. By the way, I should mention that Spook and Allegra are both into BDSM…

Ufff, we’re done! Let me tell you, reading this bundle was no easy task, Erotic romance is not really my comfort zone, yeah, I like a hot and spicy romance, but in most cases, it was not what these books were. Still, it was worth it for a few of them…
