I decided to go the obvious way and do some of my favorite contemporaries, either YA, NA or adult. Here we go!

Thursdays, which a weekly meme created by Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @Danielle’s Book Blog. The goal is to share the covers of a book related to that week’s theme, which you can see at the Goodreads group, indicating the original cover, the one of your country, your favorite and least favorite.
This week’s theme is “Every author has to start from somewhere. Choose your favorite debut novel“. I’m doing something I didn’t want to do, but I have to! I’m using Attachments by Rainbow Rowell for this one. I LOVED this book, and it’s my favorite contemporary by Rowell, however I did use it before for the BTT, and you can check it out here if you want.
I’m considering the beije cover as the original, though technically the pink one was released first… by a couple of weeks. I don’t like the pink one though… no no no.
This book was finally released in Portugal and Spain. I’m not the biggest fan of the portuguese cover, though it could have been worse, I guess. I love that the Spanish edition kept the amazing design of the original one.
I love these 3 covers! The original one from the US is amazing, I love it to bits. Then I find the indonesian cover possibly the prettiest of them all… I mean, look at that! Awesome! And finally, and to my great surprise, the russian is amazing as well! I love that they used the original theme and added the characters. Great.
I have the UK covers actually, and I hate it. Then there’s that awful Turkish cover… no no no.
Hey hey hey! Here I am with another book tag, this time it’s The ‘Spring has Sprung’ Book Tag and I was tagged by The Orang-utan Librarian. Thank you so much! And let’s do this 😉 .
1. Flowers: Look on your bookshelves. What is the most beautiful book both inside and out?One of my most beautiful books, inside and out, has to be Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon.
Just look at it, isn’t it gorgeous? And it’s such a good and sweet read 🙂 .
2. Grass: What is a book that you find that others like way more than you do?Given the goodreads rating that Nirvana has, I would say that a lot of people liked it WAY better than me, considering that I rated the book 1 star… which I have to be honest and say that I don’t really understand how that’s possible… to each its own, right?
3. Rain: What’s a great book that lifts your spirits when you’re down?The obvious answer here has to be Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda, right? I read this book twice already, and I love love love it! It makes me happy. So much so that I even borrowed my physical copy to my bff. I hope she takes good care of my precious!
4. Dew: What’s a book that made you feel alive?Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy’s Us surely made me feel alive. Maybe because my heart was actually hurting while reading this book. Maybe!
This book has it all: great dialogue, great characters, great story, great romance, huge heartbreak… perfect.
5. Storms: What’s a book that you found unpredictable?Hmmmm, I would say that Anything You Want by Geoff Herbach was pretty unpredictable. There were definitly some things that I didn’t see coming at all. Also, the book was nothing like I expected, but it’s oh so good!
6. Rainbow: What was a book that you struggled with, only to be happy that you read it in the end?Well, I struggled with Lady Midnight, but not because the book isn’t brilliant or because I didn’t want to read it, just the opposite. But it is a huge book, and my hands and arms would hurt when I had been reading for awhile. The book is heavy like hell!
7. Chilly Weather: What’s a book that you couldn’t finish or didn’t enjoy?Perfect time to mention my last 1 star reading, and that was Lessons of the Heart, which is a YA/NA teacher/student romance. It was so so bad, and it had nothing to do with the forbidden part of it. You can check out my review of it HERE.
8. Warm Weather: What’s a book that you loved and wanted more of?I wanted more of Adorkable for sure. Such a cute and good read. I wanted to see what happened after that last scene and what was in store for Sally and Becks, because they were so adorable together :D.
9. Green: What’s a book that you haven’t read yet, but really want to?Actually, I’m saying one that I’m gonna start today, and that is The Rose and the Dagger, by Renee Ahdieh. I’ve had the book for a few weeks now, but I can only manage one physical book at a time, and I needed to finish Me Before You before starting this one.
10. Pink: What’s a book in which you felt a strong connection to the characters?I felt a really strong connection to Isla and Josh, in Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins. Maybe that’s why this was my favorite book of the companion series. There’s just something so great about Isla and Josh.
11. Purple: What’s a book that when you read it, you feel safe?Not sure I fully understand this question, but hey, I’ll give it a try?! I think Attachments by Rainbow Rowell was a book that made me feel safe, maybe because I loved the story and it’s my favorite contemporary of Rowell’s. Have you read it? You should!
12. Orange: What book do you feel is intelligently written?I didn’t want to repeat authors, but I kind of have to. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell is, in my opinion, one of the most intelligent written books I’ve ever read. I loved how the base of the book was known, but she twisted everything. I fins the magic system especially compelling.
13. Yellow: What book puts a smile on your face?Ok, try to look at that cover and not smile… did you manage it? Big Rock by Lauren Blakely definitly put a huge smile on my face. It’s an amazing romance and I highly recommend it to everyone who likes NA romances.

Ten Books I Really Love But Feel Like I Haven’t Talked About Enough/In A While
I’m going to show you ten books I’ve read, and that I’m sure I’ve talked about a few times, but clearly not enough.
After doing the girl-guy and guy-guy version of bookish friendships, it was time to highlight some good girls BFFs in books. While trying to find some great friendships, I came to the conclusion that good girls BFFs are rarer to find in books than guys BFFs. Have you noticed that? Girls tend to start a book as best friends, but more often than not, something happens to change that status… it’s weird, and I fell sad about that. Either way, here are some good ones.
Am I cheating here because Iko is an android? Hmmm, I don’t think so! She’s very much a human in all that matters, and she and Cinder are awesome together.

These two biker like hell, but ultimately they trust each other and have each other’s backs.
Even while apart, Sky and Six went out of their way to stay close. I love how non-judgmental their relationship is, and that’s why they’re one of my favorites BFFs ever!
One of the best things introduced in QoS was the amazing friendship between these two strong fierce warriors. I can’t wait for book 5 :D.

I loved them on the show, I loved them even more on the book. They’re kind of perfect 😀 – and way better than the original friendship in Jane Austen’s book.
Their emails are hilarious. There isn’t a single doubt that these two ladies are BFFs!
This friendship took a while to develop, but ultimately the two very different roommates gave in and entered an unlike beautiful friendship.

I admit that I’m a bit depressed after writing this post. I need to read more books about awesome girls BFFs, without the drama of the book butting in said friendship… recommendations?!

So, here we go… I’m choosing my 10 favorite books of this year… this is gonna be tough… But here we go, in no particular order, 10 books that made me super happy and glad that I picked them up this year… I would have a lot more in the list, but I didn’t want to repeat authors either…
I’ll do this in graphic form, because I talked of these books enough times to not have to repeat the reasons why I love them.

Top Ten Quotes I Loved From Books I Read In The Past Year Or So
Suddenly I’m very glad that I’ve been collecting quote posts and creating and inserting quotes images on my reviews for a few months, because it means that I have those made already. Sure, there are probably some great quotes that I’ve read lately that won’t be in here, not that they wouldn’t be in my top ten, but I’m just too lazy right now to go look for them 😛 – so this is the Top Ten of quotes that I had already collected, and posted, on this blog.

… So it means, it’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday, and today’s theme is: Top Ten Books That Would Be On Your Syllabus If You Taught X 101. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.
I have to admit that I was a bit at a lost here, I had no idea what to write about, but luckily Kat @Life and Other Disasters, gave me a fantastic idea, she said “Or books that have the perfect fictional crush in them.” and I LOVED IT! With that in mind, welcome to my Top Ten Books with Perfect Male Specimens 101.
By now it comes to no surprise to anyone, but I have a huge crush on James Carstairs. But these books have multiple sources of perfect (or close to it) male specimens, being Will Herondale a perfect example of a man who makes most of the book community swoon (am I right?). Other perfectly good example, for me, of a swoon-worthy man in this series is Gideon Lightwood (the scones under the bed… wow). Between Jem, Will and Gideon, a lot of crushable guys here.
Levi is as crush-worthy as they come. I couldn’t stop myself from loving the hell out of him in Fangirl, even when he kind of messes up, because his character feels so real and so absolutely perfect. He always sees the bright side of things and people, he’s always happy, and the poor guy can’t stay away from the girl he loves for one single day… wow.
We (all of us who have read Sarah J. Maas books) can all agree that she’s a master at creating men, especially Fae hunks. Now, all the 3 main males from this book are pretty swoon-worthy, and I’m not even mentioning how gorgeous and hot they are, but I’m super partial to Tamlin…
Poor Tamlin, who has forgotten how to flirt, who thinks that “your hair is clean” is enough for… something… oh, but he learns! Soon it’s all “let’s go for a swim” “dance for me” and all those other stuff, so yeah, pretty crushable (especially from all of Feyre’s accounts of their intimate moments).
Then we have Lucien (the red hair kills me), who left his family and all he had for his love. WOW! And then Rhysand, the most beautiful man that Feyre has even seen – and she lives with Tamlin and Lucien. Rhys is kind of amazing and full of potential, I just want to see more of him.
Romance is never the main plot of this book, but the perfectness that is Elias is hard to ignore. This guy, who has trained to be a ruthless killer for years on end, has so much more to him… he’s kind, compassionate, he doesn’t want to kill, or fight, he just wants to be free. He’s attracted to his BFF but doesn’t act on it because he doesn’t want things to be weird and he doesn’t want to lose her. He helps a slave (and something more than help…)… The whole time I was reading about him, I couldn’t help but sigh and swoon.
It will be weird if you haven’t read this book before, so you really need to take this class seriously and read it, only then will you understand why a guy who has all his wives murdered at dawn can be so perfect and honestly, one of the most perfect male specimen that I found in any kind of books.
But trust me, Khalid is perfect, truly perfect! Again, once you ignore the fact that all his brides die. But the relationship he has with Shazi, and the kind of love he has for her, is seriously relationship goal.
One name people, Peter K.! This guy is seriously swoon worthy – I feel kind of weird saying this because he’s definitely way too young for me. But he’s so sweet and he cares so much, that it’s impossible not to fall a bit in love with him while reading these books.
Remember when I said in point 3 how amazing Sarah J. Maas is at creating fictional men? It doesn’t end there. Throne of Glass is full of amazing men, all of them are pretty hot and pretty great. I’m a bit more partial to Dorian (prince, fights for what he loves, etc) and Rowan (200 years suffering for a lost love), but you might like Chaol better and that’s totally ok, because he’s pretty amazing as well. Or maybe Aedion?! I know Aedion rocks my boat, but that’s just me… Not even going to mention Sam, because I haven’t read The Assassin’s Blade yet.
Come on, a list of books with perfect men, you couldn’t really expect that I wouldn’t include the one fictional character that has been driving women crazy for more than 100 years, right?! Oh Yeah, the one and only, Mr. Darcy! I don’t think I need to explain this one…
I just find Lincoln pretty perfect, because I relate so much to him. The way he loves is so full and complete…
And I think Christine and Beth say it best:
“Every woman wants a man who’ll fall in love with her soul as well as her body.”
“I didn’t know someone could love me like this,” she said. “Could love me and love me and love without…needing space.”
Mason Milton, people! Read this book, for real, as soon as it is out. It’s so worth it!

So I was either going with Cassandra Clare, J.K. Rowling, Sarah J. Maas or Rainbow Rowell, I went with the latter ;-). So, let’s have a look at Attachments, which I mention before how much I love it.
Original Cover:This cover is a mistery to me, because I think it was replaced rather quickly by the one below with the chairs (and thanks for that, because this one kind of sucks!).
I think that all of Rainbow Rowell’s original covers are amazing, all of them, but not this one! Let’s all agree that the original one is the one below in the favorite department?!
Cover from my Country (Portugal) & Cover from the country I live in (Spain):So, given that I’m currently living in Spain, I thought it would be good to put both covers, unfortunately Attachments hasn’t arrived to either country! I know, right? HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?! So, the next best thing? I’m giving you the cover from Brazil (hey, at least is Portuguese!).
Favorite Cover:
No doubt my favorite cover is this one, which incredibly came out just a few days after that atrocious pink one above, so honestly I think this is considered the “original” one.
I have the UK version, which is nothing much, but one day I will get this hardcover because it’s so damn pretty and I love it!
Least Favorite Cover:The Turkish cover is BAD! Really BAD!!!! I mean, what were they even thinking is this cover? It has absolutely nothing to do with the original one, and honestly it doesn’t even fit the story =/.
