Yesterday we got the first look at Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange and he looks kind of glorious. 😀 What do you guys think? I’m super excited by this movie, it combines two of my favorite things: Marvel and Benedict Cumberbatch!
The Sherlock Special, airing on the January 1st 2016, has a name, and it’s eirie… The Abominable Bride. A new trailer was released (below) and I’m super excited for this one, because even though they are clearly out of the time we are used to, they’re still the same 😀 . Also, they confirmed that season 4 will begin production in the Spring of 2016, so we have a light at the end of the tunnel…
It already feels like Christmas! After so long without having anything “Sherlock“, two goodies in two is AMAZING! A special clip from the Christmas Special was released (see below).
It looks so good (how I have missed Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes…). Is gives us nothing in terms of plot, but it’s great as it is. Also, they announced at Comic-Con that the Special will have a theatrical released in selected theatres.
This is hilarious!
Jimmy Kimmel, on Jimmy Kimmel live, wonders if Benedict Cumberbatch would have the gravitas and charisma he has if he had a different name. Benedict, of course, was game, and the result is this:
Which name is your favorite?! They’re all pretty amazing, but I laughed so hard at “My name is Bane, but you can call me Batman”!!!!
What an amazing movie! All the buzz, and Oscar’s nominations, for the Alan Turing life based movie adaptation, The Imitation Game, are justified. There might be SPOILERS.
The story is by now not news to anyone, Turing was the father of theoretical computer sciences and his scientific leap helped the allies win WWII. A few years after that he was arrested and convicted for homosexual acts and he chose chemical castration to prison, eventually committing suicide with only 41 years of age (though that is debatable).
The cast is altogether amazing, but Benedict is beyond marvelous – it’s no wonder that he’s nominated for the Oscar for Best Actor (though having just watched The Theory of Everything, Eddie Redmayne is sublime…). There’s one particular scene towards the end that just broke my heart in a million pieces and made me admire Cumberbatch even more than I already did (and that’s saying a lot).
I just had one slight problem with the film, it happens in three different points in time and is told in double flashbacks, or maybe flashbacks and flashforwards, or whatever… it’s especially tricky when you jump from 1944 to 1951 (for example), where the clothes and accessories are not sufficiently different. But other than that, no complaints, totally loved it!
Unfortunately, even though it’s nominated for 8 awards, I doubt it will win any major one =( .
It’s nothing that the internet hadn’t been talking about for a while now, but last night MARVEL has confirmed that the role of Doctor Strange will be taken on by none other than Sherlock‘s Benedict Cumberbatch.
Doctor Strange will be released November 4, 2016 and will be directed by Scott Derrickson and screenplay by Jon Spaihts. It will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.
“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”
There are a lot of complaints going around the web, I have to be honest, I have no idea how Doctor Strange is supposed to be, I don’t know the character. But either way, I do believe that Ben is the man for the job, just as he is for every role he has taken so far, because let’s face it, he’s probably one of the greatest actors alive today.
Sherlock is back on track! Well, at least they already have a script for the special Christmas 2015 episode and they had a table read today, according to BBC.

The boys apparently also posed for a photo with the attire they’ll be using for the Christmas special, though I’m not sure that’s entirely true… let’s admit that Benedict looks too much like himself in that photo and not at all like Sherlock! And Martin has the mustache back?! Hell no! =P I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but at least things are moving along!!! =D

Just as the world was buzzing about DC’s news about the release of their upcoming 10 movies, Marvel and Disney striked again and announced their plans for phase 3 movies. And again, Marvel is already winning and no movies are out yet…
So, I’m pretty excited about Marvel’s phase 3. The question of diversity, that they have been criticized for so long, is being answered, by introducing Black Panther and Captain Marvel. We still don’t get a Black Widow and Hulk movies, but do we really need to? We know by now that the Marvel universe is now fluid, they can and will make appearances in each other’s films – the Civil War being a great example of that. If it’s done well, we don’t have to miss out on any of our favourite superheroes. =) well done Marvel!
So, Benedict was late for his ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, so he did what he had to… several times… check it out!
