Sunshine Blogger Award

blogaward_2

Today I’m doing another Blog Award post. Oh yeah! I’ll be doing the Sunshine Blogger Award for the 4th (?!) time. A huge thank you to the lovely bloggers who nominated me for this: Sam @A Blast of Random, Yasaman @Following Muses, Shannon @Clockwork Bibliophile and Eve @Eve Messenger’s OtherWORDly Endeavors. THANK YOU!

Rules:

  1. Thank the people/person who nominated you.
  2. Answer the questions from your nominators.
  3. Nominate eleven other bloggers and give them eleven questions.

Sam @A Blast of Random asks:

1. Did you listen to the Hamilton soundtrack?

Yep, I did. When all the Hamilton craziness started.

2. If your answer to that question is Yes (or ‘OMG YES!’ preferably), which are your favourite songs (I know it’s impossible to choose just one), favourite character, favourite voice to listen to? Go on! Fangirl/ fanboy!!

If your answer to that question is No, what exactly are you even doing with your life?! While that question started out rhetoric, now I’m curious. What’s happening? What’s new? What are you excited about in the short term? Tell me.

My answer was yes. But you know, I think it’s a soundtrack that, no matter how amazing, doesn’t work as well without the actual play, you know? I would love to see that though. But it will probably never happen 😦 .

3. Do you have any tattoos? Would you like any (more)? Describe them. If no, why not?

I do! I also have a photo, will that do? I wouldn’t mind having another one. The pain didn’t really bothered me that much.

tattoo

4. If you were a Greek God (or Goddess) what would you be the God of?

I always felt a good affinity with Athena, goddess of reason, intelligent activity, civilization, strength, strategy, crafts, justice, arts and literature, and Apollo, god of light, music, poetry, knowledge and the sun.

5. Why do you think cats can’t fly?

Hmmm, because they don’t have wings?!

6. Which F.R.I.E.N.D.S. character are you? (Take this Buzzfeed quiz and post a screenshot of your answer!)

I’ll just leave the image and ask… WTF?!

friends

Yasaman @Following Muses asks:

1. How did your reading habits change over time?

Well, in the last year or so, I went from reading mostly YA fantasy to reading mostly NA contemporary, and I have no regrets.

2. Do you like to listen to music while reading?

Nope. No, no, no. Can’t do it. Sounds distract me too much.

3. Are there any books that your whole family loves?

Hmmm, yeah… the Twilight series. And by “all”, I’m only counting the female portion of my family.

4. You have the opportunity to tell an author to write one more book in your favourite series and they have to do it. Which series do you choose?

I would probably go with Penryn and the End of Days series by Susan Ee, because I felt like there were still so much to tell. I wanted more from those characters.

5. Which book got you into your favourite genre?

I’m chosing the New Adult Contemporary genre, because I love love love it. It was probably Right Where You Are by L.E. Bross that first really got me into it. I love this series.

6. A book that you don’t plan on reading, but everyone has read?

I never ever plan to read Divergent by Veronica Roth. I really didn’t like the movies and I’m a bit over the whole dystopian genre.

Shannon @Clockwork Bibliophile and Eve @Eve Messenger’s OtherWORDly Endeavors asks:

1. Why is your favourite genre of books your favorite?

My favorite genre right now is contemporary, either New Adult or Young Adult. I think they’re mostly easier and lighter reads, because they don’t need all the world building. They also deal with more relatable characters and issues.

2. Have you ever felt connected to a character because they have experienced something you have?

You can see the answer above for this. And yes, obviously yes. The more you read, the more likely you’ll find something to identify with, right?

3. What is your favourite book-to-movie adaptation?

I thought that Me and Earl and the Dying Girl movie adaptation was way better than the book, so that!

4. What was the last book you read and did you enjoy it?

The last book I finished was Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover, and I loved it!

5. What’s your least favourite book that you’ve ever read?

My least favorite book that I’ve read this year was Lessons of the Heart by Jodie Larson. You can check the reasons why I didn’t like it here, on my review.

6. What’s the prettiest cover on your shelf?

SO MANY!!! I’m saying my The Mortal Instruments covers today, though. Look at them!

Real Neat Blog Award #4

blogaward

Hey guys. I haven’t done a blog award in some time, but I thought I should. I was tagged by McKenzie @Bookish Things and Tea, Sara @Freadom Library, Cat @Bubblegum Yellow, Yasaman @Following Muses and Demmi @wordsandlyricss for my 4th Real Neat Blog Award, THANK YOU GUYS!

wpid-real-neat-blog-awardTHE RULES:

  • Thank and link the blogger who nominated you.
  • Answer the 7 questions the nomination has provided.
  • Nominate 7 other bloggers.
  • Create 7 questions for your nominees

I won’t be nominating anyone, because this is my 4th time doing this award =).

McKenzie @Bookish Things and Tea

1. What’s your go to happy book?

I think most of the New Adult books I read would have the potential to make me happy, but I’ll say one of the last ones I read that made me smile like crazy, and that was Smut by Karina Halle.

2. Favorite candle scent?

I do love apple scents, so I’ll probably say that :).

3. Do you prefer paperbacks or hard covers? Why?

Hard-covers look prettier on the shelves, for sure, put I like paperbacks better. They’re easier to hold and lighter, and take less space.

4. If you could take a year off from everything without any repercussions, what would you do during that year?

If I had the money for it, I would travel non-stop. Maybe live a few months in my favorite cities, and then just travel.

Demmi @Words and Lyrics and Sara @Freadom Library

1.Do you watch horror movies? If so, what’s the one that scared you the most?

Hmmm, no, not really. I don’t actually like them.

2. What’s your favorite book genre and why?

It’s a toss between New Adult, Young Adult and Fantasy. I like the three of them, it really depends on my mood though.

3. Imagine you’re stranded on a remote island with only one book character to keep you company. Which character would that be?

I’m still choosing Rowan Whitethorn from the Throne of Glass series. I mean, the dude would not let me go without food. Then there’s the whole magical thing about him. Plus he’s super hot!

4. Which seven characters would you invite to a party?

Hmmmmmmmm… this is tricky. Simon (Simon Vs), Aedion (Queen of Shadows), Cath (Fangirl), Penryn (Angelfall), Simon (Wallbanger), Magnus Bane (Shadowhunters)and Shahrzad (The Wrath and the Dawn).

Cat @Bubblegum Yellow

1. What is one book you really love that everyone hated?

Well, not EVERYONE hated this book, but I saw a lot of bad review of it, unfortunately, and that is Anything You Want by Geoff Herbach. I absolutely loved this book, and it kind of saddens me that a lot of people didn’t. 😦

2. Who is the one author you love so much that you’d even read their grocery list?

This shouldn’t surprise no one! Rainbow Rowell!

3. If you could change the title to any book, what it would be? (the book and the new title)

More than changing the title, I would change the COVER! Hustler is an amazing book, and the title fits, but the cover makes the title mean a different kind of hustler and that’s not cool. The cover has nothing to do with the book itself.

4. If your best friend was a character from a book, who would she/he be and why?

I would love to have a BFF like Killer of Tone Deaf, by Olivia Rivers. He’s an awesome friend and an amazing person. Also, he loves Doctor Who, and cries when David Tennant’s Doctor regenerates, and he’s funny.

Yasaman @Following Muses

1. What is your favorite genre? How did you discover it?

One of my favorite genres is New Adult and it was mostly by accident that I stumbled upon it. I requested a book on netgalley that had both indications (NA/YA) and it all began from there. I really love it. It’s always a fun read.

2. If you don’t enjoy a book/story do you skip or skim parts of it?

I try not to. I do it if the writing is bad, and if the book is not pulling me in. It happens so rarely though.

3. If you could trade lives with a fictional character (books, tv or film) who would it be and why?

I wouldn’t mind trading places with Tessa Grey, because she had the most amazing 2 husbands ever! I mean, Will AND Jem?! #goals!

4. Do you have a best friend (or more) and how did you meet?

I do. I met her during our masters degree. Not much there… we both live in Lisbon, while the masters was a long distance away, and we started traveling together and that was it. She’s family now.

And it’s done. Thank you again to all the wonderful bloggers who nominated me 🙂 .

The Book Fangirling Blog Award

blogaward_2

Hey guys :). How you doing? Today I’m doing the The Book Fangirling Blog Award, and I was nominated by Emma @Em Does Book Reviews, Megan @Meganqm1 and Carrianne @Carrianne’s Cuppa n’ Critiques. This is my second time doing this award, you can check the other post here.

The Rules:

  • Create a post to accept your award
  • Add the blog award button to your blog
  • Answer the questions I have set below
  • Nominate between 5-10 book bloggers who you think deserve this award
  • Come up with your own 5 questions for your nominees (at least one question about fangirling)

Emma @Em Does Book Reviews Questions:

1. Who do you normally fangirl with? In real life or over the internet?

This is easy. I fangirl with Kat @Life and Other Disasters and Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much. I do it like all the time. We have opened chats on every social media just for fangirling with each other. 😀

2. Who was your first ‘ship’?

Haruka and Michiru from Sailor Moon, for sure. I mean, I was shipping other people by then, such as Usagi and Mamoru, or Jean Grey and Scott Summers from X-Men… but Haruka and Michiru are OTP!

3. Have you ever read or written fanfiction about a book you loved?

I’ve read a few chapter of Shatter Me fanfic, but mostly one shots. Somehow I have a lot of trouble connecting to fanfic. Then I read Wallbanger and later found out that it was initially fanfic from Twilight, so I’m guessing that it happens sometimes.

4. What was the last book/character/ship you fangirled over?

Oh, I fangirl all the time about a lot of books, characters and ships. But lately I’ve talked a lot about Jamie and Wes from Him and Us by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy.

5. If you could be flatmates with one fictional character (no romance!) which character would you choose to live with?

I wouldn’t mind being flatmates with Magnus Bane, because he’s glorious, and I would always have coffee :D!!!!

Megan @Meganqm1 Questions:

1. What is your favourite book of all time?

Oh boy… that’s a tough question! I’ll say one of my favorite books of this year (is that good enough?!). Carry On by Rainbow Rowell… Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff… Wallbanger by Alice Clayton… Us by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy…

2. What was the last book you read and what did you think of it?

I finished Love on the Ledge by Zoraida Córdova just yesterday evening, and I really enjoyed it. It’s not my favorite NA book, but it was a good story, and the romance was awesome.

3. Do you like audio books?

It really depends. I liked a few audio non-fiction books, for fiction it really depends on the narrator.

4. Post a photo of describe your book situation at home?

  NLmAF8fi  SrOfX9RC

5. Least favourite book?

One of the worst books I read last year was Nirvana by J.R. Stewart… just… NO!

Carrianne @Carrianne’s Cuppa n’ Critiques Questions:

1. If you could steal a character’s clothes, whose would you steal?

I think I wouldn’t mind having Emma Carstairs wardrobe. I like the idea of all the vintage clothes (and also all the gear).

2. If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

No no no no no… sorry, can’t!

3. What trope would you like to see more in books?

Hmmm, isn’t it the definition of trope something you see a lot?! Either way, I’m a sucker for the best friends to romance trope, and the enemies to lovers one too… I love those!!! 😀 So, more of that would be always ok 😉 .

4. Favorite bookish loot? If you don’t have any, then favorite book cover?

I mean… look at them!

DSC04549

5. Which scene would you like to be a part of and in what book?

Anything Shadowhunters related. I just love the world!

One Lovely Blog Award

blogaward

Hello. Today I’m doing another round of weird facts about myself. I was nominated for the One Lovely Blog Award by Brooke @Brooke’s Books, Zhana @Confessions of an addict and Sara @Freadom Library. Thank you! And you guys should go check out their blogs.

THE RULES:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and include a link to their blog
  2. List the rules and display the award
  3. Add seven facts about yourself
  4. Nominate seven other bloggers and let them know about their nomination

Let’s see what facts I come up with today… I think I’m doing this food related! Yep, sounds good 😀 .

1. I don’t appreciate plain chocolate, my favorites are the ones with hazelnut or almonds in it. Actually, anything with hazelnut is awesome.

2. I’ll drink tea over coffee 98% of the time. I drink it at least 3 times a day and my favorite is Earl Grey. Though I’m a sucker for a peach tea I have that I bought in London a couple of years ago. I save it for special occasions though, and it’s hidden so my dad won’t drink it.

3. I love to eat salads. If my fridge is stocked with raw veggies, tomatoes, onions, avocado and fresh mozzarella cheese, I’m happy!

4. Actually, tomatoes are one of my favorite things ever. I used to eat them like apples when I was younger. My favorites are the the elongated ones, oh boy… love them. Incredibly, my dad doesn’t appreciate tomatoes one bit.

5. Another that I love to eat raw is carrots. I’m just too lazy to peel them whenever I’m in the mood for them. Interesting fact: my mom hates raw carrots!

6. I love omelettes, but they’re only perfect if they’re onions and tomatoes omelettes. It’s my favorite! Whenever I’m at a hotel and I can ask for it, that’s the 2 ingredients that go in my eggs.

7. I love to drink occasionally – simmer down, I don’t do it nearly enough – but 98% of the time, I’ll choose a beer over everything else. My favorite is stout and if it’s Guinness, all the better. I LOVE IT!

Versatile Blogger Award

blogaward_2

Hello! Today I’m doing the Versatile Blogger Award. I was nominated by Beth @betwixt-the-pages, Jesse @Books at Dawn, Trang and Lashaan @Bookidote, Deanna @A Novel Glimpse and Inês @MsCarrowl. Thank you guys!!!

Here are the rules:The Versatile Blogger Award

  1. Show the award on your blog
  2. Thank the person that has nominated you.
  3. Share 7 different facts about yourself.
  4. Nominate 15 blogs of your choice
  5. Link your nominees and let them know of your nomination.

I have written so many posts with facts about myself, that today I’m doing this a bit differently. I’m going to say 7 things that really piss me off about living with other people. 😀 – Just to give you some context, I share a house with 3 other people!

1. I hate when my roommate, the only one that shares a bathroom with me, leaves the bathroom a mess. This includes hair EVERYWHERE, the bath mat all crumples, and make up stains everywhere in the sink… bah!

2. I hate that there are 4 of us living in the same house, but two of those don’t think it’s their job to take out the trash.

3. I hate that one of my roommates lacks the ability to do dishes properly… I mean, dude, it’s not hard! When you clean them, make sure that you really clean them! I’m so tired that everytime I put away the cutlery and dishes, some have to end up in the sink again, because they weren’t washed properly. And YES! I know which of my roommates does it.

4. I hate that one of them sees problems with everything and complicates things way out of proportion.

5. I hate that some of them leave the kitchen a mess when they use it. I mean, bread crumbs everywhere. Tomato juice on the counters. Bahhh, people, is it that hard to clean after yourselves?!

6. Speaking of kitchen, where do you guys think the dishwasher detergent comes from?

7. I hate when I go to get a plate and there aren’t any in the cupboard. Why you ask? Well… we are four, and we have about 10 flat dishes, and sometimes most of them are MIA… yeah, they are usually in one of my roommate’s room… the same guy who has trouble doing the dishes properly. Don’t really know why…

To sum it up, I kind of hate living with people I’m not friends with. And we don’t share enough house space and time to actually become friends. This things piss me off, big time.

This was a little something different from the other awards :P, it was just men venting away 😀

Siblinghood of the World Bloggers Award #3

blogaward

Hello!!! Today I’m doing my third Siblinghood of the World Bloggers Award. Bear with me, ok? It’s going to be a long post… I was nominated by a lot of people, which I will list below, and to all of them: THANK YOU!!!!

Now, I’ll change the rules a bit because that’s 16 nominations, which translates to 160 questions, and no one wants that! So I’ll do a couple of questions per nomination, that’s cool right? 😉

THE RULES:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link to their blog in your post.
  2. Answer the questions that the blogger who nominated you has provided.
  3. Nominate ten other bloggers (or up to 10).
  4. Create ten questions for your nominees and notify them of their nominations.

Bridgit @outofthebooks89

1. Which book would you be hesitant to lend out because you’d be scared you wouldn’t get it back?

Probably my Illuminae copy, because it’s the hardcover and it’s beyond gorgeous.

2. Do you prefer e-readers or physical copies of books?

This is such a hard question for me. Until a few months back my answer was an unequivocal “physical copies”, but the truth is that I love to read on my kindle. It’s faster, usually cheaper, and I can jump to another book whenever I feel like it… so… e-reader?!

Jesalin @Life : books, the arts, and nature

1. Marvel or DC? If neither, tell why.

MARVEL without a doubt. I was always more into Marvel, even as a kid. I read comics, and watched cartoons, and loved it. DC was always more “meh”.

2. Are you a vegetarian? If not, have you ever considered being a vegetarian?

I’m not. And I never considered being one, I love meat way too much. Mind you, I almost live without eating it, I usually only eat meat about once a week, while I eat fish a lot more. Still, a lot of my meals don’t include any type of animal protein, but I still couldn’t give it up.

Caroline @BeulerBookReview

1. Favorite pet in fiction?

Clive from Wallbanger, for sure!

2. All time favorite book store? (Argue your case convincingly and maybe I’ll review it)

My favorite bookstore, that I’ve been to anyway, was a Waterstones near UCL in London… heaven! I also loved the one in Reading.

Monique @To Curl Up and Escape

1. When you write your reviews do you plan what you’re going to say or write it out then and there?

A little bit of both? I mean, if there are some strong points I want to make about a certain book, I’ll plan that, but the writing comes at the moment.

2. Do you have to read a book before seeing the movie?

Not really. Most times it happened the other way around, I’ve watched the movie, liked it, and then read the book…

Jordan @I Will Never Own Enough Books

1. Favorite and least favorite Disney Princess.

My favorite has to be Rapunzel – yeah… I really loved Tangled. My least has to be a toss between Snow White and Sleeping Beauty =/, they were boring as hell.

2. What are you studying in college? Or if you aren’t there yet, what do you plan on studying?

I’m still there, lol. Let’s see, I took my degree in Biology, in the field of Microbiology and Genetics, then I did my Masters in Human Evolution and Biology, and now I’m finishing my PhD in Anthropology and Diversity. 😉

Karma @cup of tea with that book, please

1. Has any book made you cry?

How about I tell you the last book that made me cry? Because I do cry a lot… The last one was Isla and the Happily Ever After. I seriously cried on that one.

2. If you were running a country, what book characters would you want to be in your cabinet?

This is so hard! Ok, Warner (Shatter Me), Kai (The Lunar Chronicles), Hermione (Harry Potter), Penryn (Penryn and the End of Days) and Aelin (Throne of Glass).

Kara @Ink and Paper

1. How many books do you have on your bookshelf/to read list?

To freaking many to count.

2. Do you have any books on your bookshelf that you have been meaning to read but will probably never read?

Yes, a few. Some of them were gifts, other some that I bought while I was still reading in Portuguese, and I’m pretty sure that I’ll never get to those.

abookesia

1. Choose a book that you think is very underrated.

The One Thing by Marci Lyn Curtis. I’ve been saying this for a while now, but you should really read this book!!!

2. Choose a book that you think is very overrated.

The Maze Runner by James Dashner… =/ sorry!

Bianca @Ultimate Fangirl

1. If you could hang out with a book blogger/booktuber for a day, who would they be?

I’m going with book bloggers here, and I would say that I would love to hang out with Kat @Life and Other Disasters and Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much, because we talk every single day!!! 😀 😀 😀

2. Friends or How I Met Your Mother?

Well, Friends, because I’m still not over that crapping ending of How I Met Your Mother!

Rogan @Signing On

1. If you imagine your life a year from now, where do you hope to be?

I hope to be anywhere else in Europe, hopefully working on my field.

2. Do you prefer funny books or sad books?

FUNNY!!!

Tricia @ItIsTrish

1. What was your favorite dinosaur?

It has always been the Brachiosaurus… boring I know ;-).

2. Who was your first celebrity crush?

First, I don’t recall, but I had a huge crush on Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 :D.

Lashaan and Trang @Bookidote

1. If you were stranded on an island, which human fictional character would you want by your side for the rest of your life and why?

Captain Thorne! His sense of humour would come in handy if I had to be there for the REST OF MY LIFE! lol

2. Your favorite fictional character comes to life for a whole day before going back to his or her next adventure; that you know of or not. What would do?

First of all, I would chose for Rowan Whitethorne to come to life, and about what we would do, I’m pleading the 5th :P.

Floriane @flowlessbooks

1. Hardbacks or paperbacks?

I’m a fan of paperbacks, they’re easy to carry, they’re usually cheaper too.

2. Tea, Coffee or chocolate?

TEA!!! All the time. Coffee once at least. Chocolate just to eat :D.

Daniela @Daniela’s Bookshelf

1. Do you prefer Sci-Fi or Fantasy?

Usually fantasy, I can suspend my disbelief easier if it’s fantasy.

2. For you, what is the most important bookish release this year?

Probably The Rose and the Dagger by Renée Ahdieh, because I really need the sequel and it’s the last book off the series, so it will wrap everything up.

Ronyell @Rabbit Ears Productions Blog

1. What movies are you looking forward to in 2016?

All the Marvel ones. Deadpool, that I watched last week, and Captain America: Civil War mostly.

2. What job do you wish you were working at?

Hmmm, I like what I do. I love doing research, so I just wish that I had already finished my PhD and snagged a good Post-Doc position.

Jasmine @How Useful It Is

1. You only have 2 hours before bedtime: books or movies?

It really depends on my mood, but lately? Books!

2. Have you visit a bookstore during your vacation out of town/country?

Yes. I do it each time I go someplace new, especially if it’s an english language country. Heck, I even went to bookstores in South Korea and Japan :D.

Sunshine Blogger Award

blogaward_2

Hello people! Being sunday and all, I thought it would be perfect to do yet another Blog Award post! This time Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much and Rogan @Signing On nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award (my third).

Rules:

  • Answer the 11 questions from the blogger who nominated you.
  • Nominate some wonderful bloggers and write 11 questions for them to answer

Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much asked:

1. Is blogging what you thought it would be? Why or why not?

Not really, I wasn’t expecting the kind of interaction we all have, I thought it was more of a lonelier endeavour, you know?

2. Where is the coolest place you have traveled to?

I have to say Japan, because…well… JAPAN!

              IMG_20151018_205750    IMG_20151019_223632

3. Do you have pets? And if so, what kind and why do you love them so much?

Not at the moment. =/

4. Is there any hyped book that you refuse to read? Why?

A few probably. I won’t read 50 Shades of Gray, that’s for sure. But I also have no interest in reading the Divergent series.

5. What book/movie/TV show is over-hyped?

Am I supposed to do the 3 categories? Ok…

Book: The Maze Runner

Movie: (I’m gonna skip this one)

TV Show: Grey’s Anatomy

6. What’s the book that got you into reading?

Twilight. Yep people… TWILIGHT!

7. What is something you’ve always wanted to do, but have never done for no good reason?

Interrail. When I was younger I wanted to do it badly, because my eldest brother had done it a couple of times when I was a kid, and I love travelings, and I wanted to do it so badly. But it’s just one of those things that it’s no fun to do alone…

8. What is your biggest pet peeve?

I get totally enraged when people don’t respect the common rules of living and working together. Like, here at home, when I get to the kitchen and someone used it and left it dirty, or when they see the garbage is full but they don’t take it out. At work is the same… I’m a bit OCD when it comes to things that we all use.

9. What’s your favorite TV show?

Right now I would have to go for shows that still grab me every week, so probably Criminal Minds, Law & Order SVU, Marvel’s Jessica Jones and Marvel’s Agent Carter.

10. What’s your guilty pleasure?

Definitely cinema’s popcorn. But our cinemas in Portugal, not these ones here that suck.

11. Share a blog post you wrote that meant a lot to you and tell us why you picked that one.

Girl, you know I have over 1000 posts on this blog, right??? Picking one is tough as nails! But I’m going to say the first discussion post I made here, about the importance of sex in novels.

Rogan @Signing On asked:

1. What book would you recommend to a seven year old with a high reading ability?

I feel like the right answer here is Harry Potter! Right? Is there any other option?

2. Hairbrush or comb?

Hairbrush, mainly because it’s faster. I do not take enough care of my hair, I have to admit to that.

3. Would you rather be the lawyer for someone who murdered someone or who participated in child trafficking?

I’d rather not to be a lawyer at all, especially for those people. But if I had to choose, I would rather defend someone who had murdered someone else. I can think of a few excuses for that, I can’t think of anything for child trafficking.

4. On a lighter note, what is your favourite season?

Autumn for sure…

5. Duvet or blanket?

Duvet, always!

6. Painting or sketching?

Neither?! I’m not good at any of those…

7. Be able to write a poem or be able to write a book?

I would rather be able to write a book, because I’m not a fan of poetry in general.

8. Would you rather have the ability to read and comprehend any classic you want, easily, or the ability to stop time whilst reading a classic (NOTE: THIS POWER ONLY APPLIES TO THE READING OF CLASSICS)?

Read and comprehend every classic. If time stopped, wouldn’t it be worst?

9. Non-fiction or Short Story collection?

It really depends… in general, I’m going with short story collection.

10. Black or white?

Black for clothes, white for everything else.

11. What Hogwarts house would you be in according to your own opinion of yourself?

Ravenclaw, all the tests get it right.

This concludes this award! I’m not going to nominate anyone at the moment, because I still have a few awards to get through and all. 😉

The Infinity Dreams Award

blogaward_2

I’ve been neglecting my award nominations for some time, but it’s sunday, and I like doing these awards posts on sunday, so here we go :D. I was nominated by a LOT of people, all of whom I thank tremendously, and I urge you all to go visit the blogs I’m about to mention:

  1. Thank and follow the blog that nominated you.
  2. Tell us 11 facts about yourself.
  3. Answer the questions that were set for you to answer. – because I was nominated by 9 people, I have 99 questions here and that is freaking a lot! So, I’m picking 3 questions per blogger to answer.
  4. Nominate 11 bloggers and set questions for them.

CÁtia @The Girl Who Read Too Much asked:

1. Glass half full or half empty?

The glass is always full, lol, either with water or air :P.

2. Tea or Coffee?

I can’t live without coffee, but I have to say tea, because tea is life!

3. Describe yourself in ONE word.

Stubborn! 😀

Rogan @Signing On asked

1. Do you have any IKEA furniture?

Oh, do I?! Hell, YEAH! Well, my home is mostly IKEA. 😀

2. If you had to wear one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?

Sweatpants and sweatshirt. Is there anything more comfortable than sweats?

3. If you could only ever eat cereal or toast for breakfast, which one would you pick?

Toast!!!! I’m not a huge cereal person, I would rather eat toast every day, with different toppings, of course.

Melanie @Melanie Noell Bernard asked

1. Would you rather be the absolute best at one thing or be pretty good at a bunch of different things?

I would rather be pretty good at a bunch of different things. I don’t feel the need to be the best at anything, and being good at some stuff would be more than good enough.

2. Has a movie ever inspired you to read the book?

Well, yeah, a lot of them! Twilight, The Hunger Games and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, to name a few.

3. Have you ever binge-watched a TV show? If so, which one?

OH BOY!!! SO MANY!!! I’m a huge binge watcher, it’s my favorite way of watching tv shows. I suffer a lot during normal programing because I love binge watching. The biggest binge I did was 12 seasons of Law & Order SVU. But it was not by far the only one.

Ari @The Daydreaming Bookworm asked

1. What is your MOST anticipated release for 2016?

HMMMMM (such hard questions!), I would say it’s The Rose and the Dagger by Renée Ahdieh. The ending of the first book kind of killed me and I NEED to know what happens next.

2. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

London, it has been London for a long time, since I first stepped there when I was 11. I just love the city, the cold, the life, …, everything. London is HOME.

3. Do you lend out your books?

I don’t! Ok, don’t think I’m that mean. First of all, I don’t lend them because nobody ask me for them, because I read in english and my family doesn’t. Then I’m not that fond of the idea of parting with most of my books, though I don’t have that problem with some of the others…

Rae @bookmarkchronicles asked

1. If you could go anywhere in the world for a week, all expenses paid, where would you go?

I would probably go to  Australia, because I feel like it’s a place where I would not likely go otherwise, and I would really like to go there.

2. What book(s) are you currently reading?

I’m currently reading Carry On by Rainbow Rowell and I’m loving it. Rainbow Rowell is a genious! Simon is hilarious, Penny is a wonderful friend, and Simon is so in love with Baz that I’m curious as to why Penny hasn’t point it out yet. 😀

3. What’s your favorite dessert?

My favorite thing ever is sweet angel hair, also known as Aletria. It’s like sweet rice but with angel hair pasta and it’s so damn good. Portuguese girls, do you like aletria?

Jesse @Books At Dawn asked

1. Name an author who you will always auto buy from. Even if the book is blank.

Rainbow Rowell! I was a bit skeptical about Carry On prior to starting it, and I wasn’t sure how she would be outside of contemporaries, but now I’m sold, and I tell you: I will buy ANYTHING that this woman writes – even if her book is blank.

2. What author will you never read from again? Why?

I’m not sure I’ll never read anything by him again, but J. R. Stewart didn’t leave a good impression with Nirvana and I’m not very keen to trying him again.

3. Which book do you regret buying?

It’s not that I regret it exactly, but at the end of the day I didn’t enjoy Popular: Vintage Wisdom for a Modern Geek by Maya Van Wagenen, and I had a lot of problems with it.

Sammie @Sammie’s Book Nook asked

1. Why do you love reading, books, etc?

Escapism! Books allow me to travel within my own mind, from the comfort of my bed :D.

2. Name the book that has made you cry the most!

I cry very easily, and I can’t remember ALL the books that have made me cry, because there are a lot, I’m sure. But I cried with My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga, beautiful book.

3. What series do you wish never ended?

The Penryn and the End of Days trilogy, by Susan Ee. I’m serious, I could read 100 books about Penryn and Raffe and their wonderful banter.

Caitlyn @Rhodes of Reading asked

1. Cake or pie?

It really depends on the cake and on the pie, am I right? BUT I’m a sucker for apple pie, so I’m going with that! And Dean Winchester agrees with my choice.

2. How many different cities have you lived in?

I’ve lived in 5 different main cities: Lisbon, Monção and Valença (north of Portugal), Coimbra, and Barcelona (I’ve actually also lived in Sabadell and Sant Cugat, but I’m considering that Barcelona as well).

3. What’s your favorite accent to hear people speaking with? (British, American, Spanish, etc.)

I’m a sucker for british and scottish accents… I mean, how hot are they? The Australian is not far behind either…

Emily @The Little Book Affair asked

1. What was the highlight of your year?

Is it very sad if I say it was my blog? It totally was! This year my blog changed a bit, and I met a ton of people, people that are now super important to my day to day, so yeah, it was my highlight.

2. Do you believe in soul mates?

Oh, wow, tricky one. I do believe that there are people who are more compatible than others, I also believe that sometimes there is more than one someone for the same person. On other cases, and I have at least one in my family, totally make me believe in it.

3. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up?

First thing I do is check my phone for notifications. Then I get up and hit the bathroom, because that’s always urgent.

And I’m done! 😀 I had fun answering all of your questions, thank you guys for all the nominations 🙂 !!!

Book Fangirling Award

blogaward

Hey people! Today I’m doing a brand new Blog Award: the Book Fangirling Award! I was nominated by Anette @Anette Reads, thank you so much Anette. 🙂 This award was created by Book Fangirling, so visit up the original blog 😉 .

blogawardbuttonTHE RULES:

  • Create a post to accept your award.
  • Add the blog award button into your post and put it on the side of your blog as a widget. Visit fangirling for the award button.
  • Answer the questions I have below.
  • Nominate between 5-10 book bloggers who you think also deserve this award.
  • Come up with your own 5 questions for your nominees.

1. What’s the first book you remember being really obsessed by?

Now now… this is a judgement free zone, right? Just kidding, I’m not in the slightest embarrassed by it: Twilight! This was the book (and series) that really got me into reading. Twilight was the only reason I even read Harry Potter. So, I don’t care if it’s not quality writing, it isn’t, but it will always hold a special place in my heart. Also, this book started a revolution in terms of Young Adult Books and made it “cool” to read. 🙂

2. Who’s your book OTP?

My answer to this question would always be Ron and Hermione from Harry Potter, but can I only pick one? Because now I have loads of OTPs… oh well, I might have to do a post about it.

Ron-y-Hermione

3. Do you read/write fanfiction? If so, what kind?

No, I don’t write at all, nothing, not a thing. But after I finished reading Ignite Me, I did wander and started looking at some fan fiction, but I have troubles with it. True that I never searched for one that had a truly feel of the characters I love, I’m sure there are some great ones out there, but the ones I came across either portrayed the characters in a way I couldn’t imagine them, or the setting and plot were just weird. So I gave up on that kind of fanfic. What I did find, and became slightly addicted to, was one-shots fanfic of some of my favorite couples (and yes, confession time now, I do love a good smutty well written scene!).

4. What kind of merch do you own? (Include pictures if you want!)

Book merch? Not much, just Hermione’s wand and now I have two Funko Pop! figures of Hermione and Ron – if you had any doubts how OTP they are!

5. Now for the most important question. What’s your Hogwarts house?

I’m a proud Ravenclaw 😀 .

My questions:

  1. Book series or standalones? Why?
  2. Did you watch anime/cartoons when you were younger? Which ones?
  3. Tell me a music that reminds you of your childhood/early teens.
  4. Favorite movie growing up?
  5. Where do you live? Tell us something about your city (that us tourists can’t read on the books).

I Nominate:

Real Neat Blog Award #3

blogaward_2

Hello fellow bloggers. Today I’m bringing you a Blog Award post, my third Real Neat Blog Award!!! I would like to thank  Jessica @Mud and Stars, Flo @flowlessbooks, Amy @CURIOUSER AND CURIOUSER and Jesse @Books at Dawn for nominating me – THANKS GUYS!!! You should go check out each and everyone of these blogs, ok?

The rules:

  • Thank and link the blogger who nominated you.wpid-real-neat-blog-award
  • Answer the 7 questions the nomination has provided.
  • Nominate 7 other bloggers.
  • Create 7 questions for your nominees

Now, as I’ve mentioned, this is my third time doing this award, so I won’t be nominating anyone, ok? I’ve done quite a few awards in the past few months and I don’t know which awards each blogger had, so for now I’m not nominating anyone.

As I’ve been nominated by a few people, I might skip some answers and reply 4 from each one instead of the 7 asked, ok?

On to the questions…

Jessica @Mud and Stars asked:

1. What would be the one book you’d recommend to someone who says they don’t like reading?

This is a tough one… I would say Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. It’s an easy and fun read, which deals with serious subjects. And given that the book is divided into normal format and e-mail format, it’s not only easy, but also unique.

2. How many books have you read this year, and how many are you aiming to read by the end of 2015?

So far, 60 😀 !!! I’m quite happy with that number, but I’m aiming to reach at least 75 by the end of the year.

3. Which book on your shelf has the most beautiful cover?

I love the Shatter Me series covers. LOVE THEM! So for me, those are my favorite covers for sure. They are just so gorgeous, and shiny, and Oh My… those colours…

4. Which main character from a book do you think is most similar to you?

Hmmmmm, ok, this is really though. I’m probably a mix between Lincoln from Attachments, with Cath from Fangirl, and something else that I can’t quite identify. To sum it up, Rainbow Rowell knows me best.

Flo @flowlessbooks asked:

1. What is your 2015 favorite read so far ?

Is it too much of a cliché if I say Queen of Shadows?! Because yeah… that’s probably the one… But I read so many fantastic books this year…

2. Which book deserves more hype in your opinion ?

I think I said the same thing yesterday, but The One Thing by Marci Lyn Curtis, totally deserves all the attention, because that book is just amazing.

3. What is the most original book you read ?

Did I mention that I read some pretty freaking amazing books this year? Yeah? But I think the most original one I read was More Happy Than Not, by Adam Silvera. That twist!

4. Book boyfriend/girlfriend ?

Can I have 2? It would be Jem from The Infernal Devices and Rowan from the Throne of Glass series. Now, I know these two guys are nothing alike, but they would both fit very well with my personality. Also, they are both gorgeous and sexy (and you just know that they have a LOT to offer). Also, the silver hair… maybe I have a thing for silver hair…

Amy @CURIOUSER AND CURIOUSER asked:

1. If you could live in any time period which would you choose?

I would love to visit some points in the past, but I don’t think I could live in there, so I would chose the present or near future. There’s no way I could live without my running water and plumbing systems…

2. E-readers or physical books?

For a long time I was dead set against e-readers, and now, I’ll admit, that my Aelin (name I gave my Kindle – I will soon change it to “Fire-breathing bitch-queen”) is like my best friend. I read faster on my kindle too, and it holds so many books. Still, nothing can quite beat the feel of a physical book in my hands, the way it feels and smells… so, I’ll say physical 😉 .

3. What’s the last film you went to see at the cinema?

I haven’t been to the movies in a while month?! That’s unacceptable! The last one I saw in the theatre was The Man from UNCLE, which I loved.

4. Where do you see yourself in 5 years time? What would your ideal life be like?

In the best case scenario, I see myself holding a postdoc position, possible my second or third, ideally in London (or some place cold). It would be nice to have someone by then, lol. My ideal life though, would be to win the lottery tomorrow, play up all of my parents debts, and disappear for a year and travel the world, alone. Then find a job in my field, invest some money into a bookstore and just live day after day.

Jesse @Books at Dawn asked:

1. You’ve been in a relationship with your man/women and things are getting serious, but out of the blue they ask you to choose them or your books. Which do you choose and why?

Are you kidding me Jesse? What kind of question is this one? I would never be with a person that would make me choose between anything I loved. If a person puts you in a position where you have to chose, they’re not right for you… at least that’s what I think. So, damn the guy, I’m keeping my books!

2. You’re being held at gunpoint but the shooter says he will set you free if you burn three of your books. Which three would you choose?

First of all, I would make very clear that I believe that burning books is a sacrilege. But at gunpoint, whatcha gonna do, right? Then I would finally say 3 books that I wasn’t particularly fond of: Girl Online by Zoe Sugg, Popular: Vintage Wisdom for a Modern Geek (A Memoir) by Maya Van Wagenen and Digital Fortress by Dan Brown (because I have 2 physical copies of this book).

3. With wanting more diversity in books nowadays, what is one aspect you believe should be represented more and why?

Mental illness. I think there’s still a huge stigma concerning it, and it affects so many people nowadays, that it should totally be represented more.

4. Your favorite author is going to call you for a once in a lifetime chance to talk. You can only ask them one question. Who is the author and what is the question? Why?

I would be pretty stupid about it, lol, I would definitely want to get a call from Sarah J. Maas today and I would asked her with whom Aelin will end up with. To make it clear, I’m ok with either choice she has (or will have in the future), I just want to make sure that my baby Rowan is ok with her choices too… 😉

And that’s a wrap people… 😉
