btt_gold

Hello, welcome back to another Book Traveling 168709Thursdays, which a weekly meme created by Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @Danielle’s Book Blog. The goal is to share the covers of a book related to that week’s theme, which you can see at the Goodreads group, indicating the original cover, the one of your country, your favorite and least favorite.

This week’s theme is “With the Oscars coming up soon choose a book that you would like to see as a movie“. I think Adorkable by Cookie O’Gorman would be a fantastic teen romantic comedy. 😀

Original & Favorite COver:

I usually don’t appreciate people on the cover of books, but this is cute and the colors make me happy 🙂 .

LEAST FAVORITE COVER(S):

The only other cover for this book is the Hungarian, and I honestly don’t like it as much. The background images just don’t work for me.

This week’s theme is “There’s still more love to share… Choose a book that deserves more love“. Guys, this one will be super short! I’m spotlighting Tone Deaf by Olivia Rivers, which I read last year and loved, and I wish more people would pick it up.

Original (and only!) COver:

This is it. Honestly I really really love it, the image is great, it is related to the story (sort of) and I really like the font and placement.

Book Traveling Thursdays: A Book With First Love

Hello, welcome back to another Book Traveling 168709Thursdays, which a weekly meme created by Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @Danielle’s Book Blog. The goal is to share the covers of a book related to that week’s theme, which you can see at the Goodreads group, indicating the original cover, the one of your country, your favorite and least favorite.

This week’s theme is “Valentine’s Day is just around the corner… Choose a book that deals with first love“. For this week I’m using Did I Mention I Love You? by Estelle Maskame, I’m considering it a case of first love 😀 , and I kind of miss Eden and Tyler.

Original COver:

I’m not the biggest fan of the original UK covers, to be honest, but they do go well with the book.

COVER FROM MY COUNTRY (PORTUGAL) & COVER FROM THE COUNTRY I LIVE IN (SPAIN):

There’s no Portuguese edition yet, but there’s a spanish and catalan edition 🙂 .

FAVORITE COVER(s):

I love the two US covers, the original and the redesigned one that came out when the third book was announced.

LEAST FAVORITE COVER(S):

I really don’t like the Scottish and Polish covers.

Book Traveling Thursdays: A Book That Was a Big Surprise

Hello, welcome back to another Book Traveling 168709Thursdays, which a weekly meme created by Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @Danielle’s Book Blog. The goal is to share the covers of a book related to that week’s theme, which you can see at the Goodreads group, indicating the original cover, the one of your country, your favorite and least favorite.

This week’s theme is “Choose a book that was a big surprise for you“. I’m cheating a bit here, and I’m using a book that’s not even out yet, and yet I think that you should know about it and add to your TBRs: The Best We Could Do: An Illustrated Memoir by Thi Bui. Here the author tells her story, and her family’s, from how they grew up, to their escape from Vietnam due to the war, and how they settled in the USA. It’s beautiful and it’s important, especially in the current situation that is happening in the US and a bit all over the world. It doesn’t hurt that the illustrations are gorgeous too.

Original & Favorite COver:

Look at this beautiful cover! This is the only cover so far, but I do hope that they edit the book in several languages, but maintain this beautiful art. I was lucky enough to have been approved for an eARC on Netgalley, and the book comes out March 7th by Abrams ComicArts, if you’re interested.

Book Traveling Thursdays: A Book Set In a Fictional World

Hello, welcome back to another Book Traveling 168709Thursdays, which a weekly meme created by Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @Danielle’s Book Blog. The goal is to share the covers of a book related to that week’s theme, which you can see at the Goodreads group, indicating the original cover, the one of your country, your favorite and least favorite.

This week’s theme is “Here’s to different worlds… Choose a book set in a fictional world“. For today I’m using The Winner’s Curse (The Winner’s Trilogy #1) by Marie Rutkoski, which I totally loved, by the way, and you guys should all read.

Original COver:

I love the original US cover. Love it! Especially because of the way the title and name are positioned sideways.

COVER FROM MY COUNTRY (PORTUGAL) & COVER FROM THE COUNTRY I LIVE IN (SPAIN):

The Portuguese cover is similar to the original one, but the tones are a bit different… I like it. I even like that Kestrel is a bit further away. The Spanish cover is just like the original one, which is always good.

FAVORITE COVER(s):

I think my favorite version though, it’s the one I own. I love these Square Fish editions, where the outer cover is just slightly smaller than the interior one. I always love this effect.

LEAST FAVORITE COVER(S):

Without a doubt my least favorite cover is the reprint edition one. I don’t know why they decided to change all the covers when the third book came out, but it was a bad move.

Book Traveling Thursdays: First Read of 2017

Hello, welcome back to another Book Traveling 168709Thursdays, which a weekly meme created by Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @Danielle’s Book Blog. The goal is to share the covers of a book related to that week’s theme, which you can see at the Goodreads group, indicating the original cover, the one of your country, your favorite and least favorite.

This week’s theme is “With a new year come new books… Choose your first read of 2017“. This one is easy… my first read of the year was Falling for the Player by Jessica Lee, a M/M NA romance, that unfortunately was not good… at all. So, this week there will only be one cover.

Original COver:

It’s a pretty standard cover for a NA romance, unfortunately it’s a bit misleading.

Book Traveling Thursdays: A Book I Would Like to Read for the 1st Time… Again

Hello, welcome back to another Book Traveling 168709Thursdays, which a weekly meme created by Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @Danielle’s Book Blog. The goal is to share the covers of a book related to that week’s theme, which you can see at the Goodreads group, indicating the original cover, the one of your country, your favorite and least favorite.

This week’s theme is “New beginnings… Choose a book you would like to read for the first time again“. I’m so bad at this! And I think I’ve used all the books I would like to read as the first time all over again… but I’m going with Night Owls by Jenn Bennett because this book was amazing, and I wouldn’t like experiencing it for the first time again.

Original & Favorite COver:

I love the UK original cover. Luckily it’s the one I own :D.

COVER FROM MY COUNTRY (PORTUGAL) & COVER FROM THE COUNTRY I LIVE IN (SPAIN):

This book is not out in either country yet.

LEAST FAVORITE COVER(s):

These are my least favorite ones. I don’t hate the US cover, but I don’t really like it, even though I think the US title is more appropriate than the original UK one. Then there’s the Brazilian cover, again, I don’t hate it, but I don’t really like it either. Finally the German edition… just NO.

This week’s theme is “2016 is coming to an end… Choose a book you want to read in 2017!“. I’ve been meaning to read I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson for awhile now, so why not use it for this week’s BTT?

Original COver:

I absolutely love the original US cover for this book.

COVER FROM MY COUNTRY (PORTUGAL) & COVER FROM THE COUNTRY I LIVE IN (SPAIN):

I love love love the Portuguese cover, it might be my favorite! The book is also out in Spanish and Catalan and I like that both editions used the original cover.

Favorite COVER(s):

I love the Portuguese edition, the original one and the Chinese cover – isn’t it just pretty?!

LEAST FAVORITE COVER(s):

There are some bad covers for this book, but these are the worst in my opinion: Bulgarian, Russian, Polish and Serbian.

The goal is to share the covers of a book related to that week’s theme, which you can see at the Goodreads group, indicating the original cover, the one of your country, your favorite and least favorite.

This week’s theme is “It’s Christmas Time!! Choose a book that makes you think about Christmas. (If you don’t celebrate Christmas you can choose a book that features any other festivity)“. I used this book last year, but I’m using it again today, because this book actually takes place during the week leading to Christmas day, so it’s appropriate, right? Landline by Rainbow Rowell.

Original COver:

This is the original US cover, I like it, I used to own it, but it is not my favorite.

COVER FROM MY COUNTRY (PORTUGAL) & COVER FROM THE COUNTRY I LIVE IN (SPAIN):

This book is finally out in Portugal, though I don’t really like the cover. I do like the first Spanish cover, a lot, but the second one is just meh…

Favorite COVER(s):

I love the Spanish edition, and the 2 UK versions… :D, they are so cute. I dig the yellow phone a lot, in case you had missed that.

LEAST FAVORITE COVER(s):

My least favorites are: German, French, Swedish, Polish and Dutch covers…

Book Traveling Thursdays: A Favorite Book of 2016

btt

Hello, welcome back to another Book Traveling 168709Thursdays, which a weekly meme created by Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @Danielle’s Book Blog. The goal is to share the covers of a book related to that week’s theme, which you can see at the Goodreads group, indicating the original cover, the one of your country, your favorite and least favorite.

This week’s theme is “It’s almost the end of the year… Choose one of your favorite books of 2016“. I’m gonna use one of my most recents favorite reads, instead of doing the whole year worth, because I would then have chosen A Court of Mist and Fury, and I know Cátia used that already. So, I’m going with Highly Illogical Behavior by John Corey Whaley, which I recently finished and loved.

Original COver:

This is the original US cover, and while it’s not my favorite cover, I do think it represents the book well.

COVER FROM MY COUNTRY (PORTUGAL) & COVER FROM THE COUNTRY I LIVE IN (SPAIN):

WOW, this book is already out in Portugal and in Spain! WOW!!! I don’t like the Portuguese cover at all, while the Spanish were smarter and adopted the original one.

Favorite COVER(s):

This is the UK cover and the one I own and I LOVE IT!!!

LEAST FAVORITE COVER(s):

Yeah, the Portuguese edition is definitly my least favorite cover for this book…
