April TBR

april_TBR

Hello 😀 . Today I’ll show you my TBR for this month. In March I managed to read 22 books by some miracle. Granted, one was a super short novella and another one was a short story, but still, it was the most I ever read in a single month, and most books were finished in the span of 24 hours. So, I hope I have a similarly awesome reading month in April, though I won’t aim that high, because that’s crazy.

I’m going for 15 books, of which 2.5 of them are already finished (yes, it’s still the 3rd day of the month…).

AprilTBR

  1. The Girl From Everywhere by Heidi Heilig – Me and Cátia are both about halfway through with this book. It’s good, but neither of us has been in the mood for it.
  2. Changing His Game (The Reynolds Brothers, #1) by Justine Elvira – I actually finished this book already (and I was so disappointed).
  3. Roommates by Erin Leigh – And I finished this one already too…
  4. Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare – This beauty will be a buddy read with Kat @Life and Other Disasters and Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much. After weeks of waiting, Cátia is finally getting her book on monday, and we will begin this journey. It will probably take us a bit to get through it, but we will!
  5. Once Upon a Dream (Twisted Tales #2) by Liz Braswell – I didn’t like the first one a bit, but I’ll give this one a shot.
  6. Catch You (Love Me, I’m Famous 0.5) by M.H. Soars – Warning, the next 5 book are buddy reads with Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much, because we love to request the same ARCs on Netgalley.
  7. The One That Got Away (Kingston Ale House #1) by A.J. Pine – Another ARC I’m reading with Cátia
  8. Crazy, Stupid, Fauxmance (Creative HeArts #3) by Shellee Roberts – And another one… I’m so excited for this one, because I read the second book of this series last month.
  9. Pieces of You and Me by Erin Fletcher – Another ARC I’m reading with Cátia.
  10. That Thing Between Eli and Gwen by J.J. McAvoy – And another!
  11. Tone Deaf by Olivia Rivers – The author asked me if I would like to read and review her book… hells YES! (Kat @Life and Other Disasters is also reading this one…)
  12. Anything You Want by Geoff Herbach – Me and Kat @Life and Other Disasters are finally getting to this one. And Sara @Freadom Library is joining us 😀
  13. Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover – I’m going to Portugal later this month, which means I’ll finally be able to buy CoHo’s ebooks!!! (Kindle store’s prices differ from Portugal to Spain, and they’re way nicer at home).
  14. The Year We Fell Down (The Ivy Years #1) by Sarina Bowen – I bought this book this month (for free), so I’m hoping I get some time to get to it. Everybody says wonders of Sarina Bowen, and I fell in love with Him and Us.
  15. #Junkie (GearShark #1) by Cambria Hebert – I stumbled upon this book by accident, and after loving  Him and Us so much, I think I’ll enjoy this one as well.

This is what I plan to read this month of April, I might not get to all the books, but I’ll try to finish all my ARCs – the goal on Netgalley keeps beeing the 80% ratio… not far now.

I also think that some books will take a little bit of time, such as Lady Midnight. Not only is the book huge, but buddy reading implies that we have to keep a steady pace between the 3 of us 😉 .

Shadowhunters Renewed for Second Season

rs_1024x691-151120133053-1024.shadow-hunters-freeform-2.ch.1112015

It’s official! Freeform as announced that Shadowhunters will be back for a second season.

I have to admit that I’m slightly torn here. For one, I’m super happy because I do love this book series and I want to see the characters and the story I love playing out on TV. On another hand, I’m not entirely happy with the path they’re taking this series on, and I’m afraid it will get even more derailed…

Either way, I do hope they take this opportunity to listen to some critics of the first season, and build up from that. 😀

March TBR

march_tbr1

Hey guys! 🙂 After a successful reading month of February, when I read only romances, I want to keep the ball rolling and read a bunch of books this month too, and see if I can finally lift my Netgalley ratio closer to 80%. So, here are the books I plan on reading this month of March.

march_tbr

  1. Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff – I actually started this one 3 days ago, and I’m buddy reading it with Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much
  2. The Girl From Everywhere by Heidi Heilig – I got this eARC from Netgalley and the plan is to also read it with Cátia 😀
  3. Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare – Now, as soon as this book is out, I’m buying it!
  4. Extreme by Lark O’Neal – I received this book for review from Xpresso Book Tours and I started it yesterday and OMG!! 😀 😀 😀
  5. Scandal: The Complete Series by Alison Foster – I also got this book for review from Xpresso Book Tours.
  6. Never Stop Falling by Ashley Drew – I’ll be reading this one as part as a blog tour from  Xpresso Book Tours.
  7. In Your Dreams by Ginger Scott –  I’ll be reading this one as part as a blog tour from WordSmith Publicity.
  8. Playing Defense by Cate Cameron – eARC from Netgalley, probably reading it with Cátia.
  9. Wanting More by Jessica Ruddick – eARC from Netgalley, probably reading it with Cátia (yeah, we have a lot of books to read together this month 😛 ).
  10. South of Sunshine  by Dana Elmendorf – eARC from Netgalley
  11. Kindred Spirits by Rainbow Rowell – It’s already on my kindle, ready to be read.
  12. The Crown and the Arrow (The Wrath and the Dawn 0.5) by Renee Ahdieh – Khalid is waiting :D.

From this list, only 2 books and 2 novellas aren’t ARCs/Galleys, but I’m positive that I’ll be able to get to them all :). What about you? Are you reading any of these books?

The Book Love Tag

lovetag

Hello guys! Today I’m doing a Valentine’s themed book tag created by Anette @Anette Reads, who was super cool to tag me. If you haven’t checked out her blog yet, I suggest that you do it ;-). Ok, let’s do The Book Love Tag!

1. Your favorite book couple.

THIS.IS.SO.HARD!!!!

I have too many! I’m going to go with Warner and Juliette from the Shatter Me trilogy. Ignite Me was perfection for me just because of these two <3!!!

2. Your top 3 book boy/girlfriends.

▫ Jem Carstairs (The Infernal Devices) – Jem was the first!

▫ Rowan Whitethorne (Throne of Glass series) – Made the list as soon as he appeared in Heir of Fire :D.

▫ Garrett Graham (The Deal) – This is a recent one… but what can I say? 😍😍😍

3. Imagine your favorite book couple. Who would propose, and how? (If there’s already been a proposal: who would be more into organizing the wedding?)

Back to Warnette then… ok Warner would totally propose – I’m not sure that Juliette even understands the concept fully. In my mind, he has had the ring for ages, but instead of doing it “right”, he would just blurt it out, in the most awkward and incoherent way possibly, probably during or after sex (because they spend most of their time in bed anyway). That’s how I imagine it :D. It would be cute as hell though, because it’s Warner, and Juliette is everything to him.

4. Unpopular opinions time! Name a popular pairing you can’t stand.

Oh, wow. I don’t think I have an answer for this one… how about I tell you a couple that I do like, but not as much as 99% of the people do? Will that work? Ok then… Celaena and Sam Cortland. I loved them together, sure, but I don’t think they were right for each other at all. That’s why I’m kind of glad that he died… =/

5. What’s your favorite and least favorite romance trope?

Oh my gosh… I have so many favorites!!! I’m a sucker for enemies turned lovers though, and if there’s a step in the middle where they are super friends, all the better. Wallbanger and The Deal do this so good! That’s probably why I loved both books so much :D.

My least favorite is probably insta-love. It’s not that I don’t like it, if done well, it can totally work, because people are attracted to each other at first sight. But more often than not is not done very well :(.

6. Do you ship non-canon couples often? Name some if you do.

I usually don’t. I’ve a very canon type of girl :D. I did ship Haymitch and Effie on The Hunger Games trilogy, so I was super glad that one particular scene was added to Mockingjay pt 2. I was also shipping Rowaelin when they were still claiming to be friends and nothing more, but I was so sure that it would evolve :D.

7. Your opinion on love triangles. Go!

Love triangles… hmmmm…. if done right, I love them! The problem for me is when it’s so obvious that one of the members is just a filler.

8. Favorite and least favorite love triangle?

My absolutely favorite, obviously, is Will/Tessa/Jem triangle of The Infernal Devices. I love it! It’s so well done, because both guys are equally deserving, and you totally understand what she sees in each of them. Better yet, Jem and Will love each other, they love each other so much that they’re more than willing to step aside to let the other one be happy. ❤ I love them!

jem_will_tessa

Least favorite… hmmmm…. The Hunger Games? What was even that? Why was Gale even considered a love interest?

9. Sometimes romance just isn’t the way to go. Favorite friendship?

I’m going to redirect you to a post I did last week about Boys/Girls platonic friendships in books, ok? Here it is. Juliette and Kenji from the Shatter Me trilogy are probably my faves though :D.

10. What’s your favorite scene with your bookish OTP?

Chapter 62 of Unravel Me… not saying anything else!

11. Imagine your favorite book couple again. Who’s most excited about Valentine’s Day (either ironically or genuinely)?

Oh, does Valentine’s Day still exist after everything that went on? Ok then. I would say that Warner is probably more excited about it, he likes to surprise and do things for Juliette, so I think that would definitly have something very special prepared for her.

Top Ten Tuesday: Memorable First Kisses

top 10 tuesday

Hello, welcome back to another Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is:

Valentine’s Day is next week…let’s do a Valentine’s Day themed freebie! Top Ten Books That Would Make Great Valentine’s Day Reads (or anti-Valentine’s day reads), Top Ten OTPs, Top 10 fictional crushes, top ten great love declarations in fiction, swoony quotes from books etc. Get creative!

This is getting harder and harder to find themes… I decided to go ahead and to Memorable First Kisses! 😀

1. Ron and Hermione – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I don’t think I could start this list any other way. Ron and Hermione’s first kiss is epic and totally memorable. The book one, ok?

“There was a clatter as the basilisk fangs cascaded out of Hermione’s arms. Running at Ron, she flung them around his neck and kissed him full on the mouth. Ron threw away the fangs and broomstick he was holding and responded with such enthusiasm that he lifted Hermione off her feet.”

 (source)

2. Cath and Levi – Fangirl

I just loved their first kiss (and every single one of the others, because they’re adorable!).

“He nudged his nose against hers, and their mouths fell sleepily together, already soft and open.”

 (source)

3. Simon and Baz – Carry On

Well, given that Cath is above, it’s only fair that Simon and Baz epic first kiss follows. I was literally holding my breath on that scene. I actually had to stop and sit down on the subway bench to read it properly. And yeah, I had people waiting for me 😛

“He shakes his head, and he’s saying something, and I think I might kiss him. Because I’ve never kissed anyone before. (I was afraid I might bite.) And I’ve never wanted to kiss anyone but him. (I won’t bite. I won’t hurt him.) I just want to kiss him, then go.

“Simon…,” I say.

And then he kisses me.”

4. Thorne and Cress – Cress

I ship these two so hard, and their first kiss was just the most adorable thing ever.

“I guess it’s time.”

While Cress’s thoughts continued to churn through the horrible things that could happen to her, she felt herself being suddenly spun around and dipped backward, a supportive arm scooping beneath her back. She yelped and caught herself on Thorne’s shoulder.

Then he was kissing her.”

                      (source)

5. Caroline and Simon – Wallbanger

I admit that I’m a fan of angry first kisses, and Simon and Caroline’s first kiss was sort of perfect in that way.

“”Why are you such a manwhoring asshole?” I asked, my face inches from his.

“Why are you such a cockblocking priss?” he asked, and when I opened my mouth to tell him exactly what I though, the fucker kissed me.

Kissed me.

Placed his lips on mine and kissed me. Under the moon and the stars, with the sounds of the waves crashing and the crickets cricketing.”

6. Magnus and Alec – The Mortal Instruments

This technically isn’t in any of the books, but it is on Cassie’s site, so I’m gonna roll with it, you can read the whole thing here: Kissed: Magnus and Alec’s First Kiss.

“Magnus’ finger was under his chin, tilting his face up, and then they were kissing. Alec heard a small hitching gasp come from his own throat and then their mouths were pressed together with a sort of controlled urgency. Magnus, Alec thought dazedly, really knew what he was doing. His lips were soft, and he parted Alec’s expertly, exploring his mouth: a symphony of lips, teeth, tongue, every movement waking up a nerve ending Alec had never known he had.”

7. Rowan and Aelin – Queen of Shadows

This should come to no surprise. Rowan and Aelin are definitly one of my favorite ships, and their first kiss was awesome… come on… we waited a long time for it! It was full of tension and I loved that it was Aelin who kissed him :D.

“Her finger shook as she brushed them against his mouth, and his control shredded apart right there.

“What are you waiting for?” he said, the words near guttural.

“Bastard,” she murmured, and kissed him.

Her mouth was soft and warm, and he bit back a groan. His body went still — his entire world went still — at that whisper of a kiss, the answer to a question he’d asked for centuries. He realized he was staring only when she withdrew slightly. His fingers tightened at her waist.

“Again,” he breathed.”                                                                                            (source)

8. Shahrzad and Khalid – The Wrath and the Dawn

The first kiss between Shazi and Khalid is so damn important! Yep, they had been married for a while and done a lot in the time, but not kissing, that was special.

““What are you doing to me, you plague of a girl?” he whispered.

“If I’m a plague, then you should keep your distance, unless you plan on being destroyed.” The weapons still in her grasp, she shoved against his chest.

“No.” His hands dropped to her waist. “Destroy me.”

The bow and arrow clattered to the ground as he brought his mouth to hers.

And there was no turning back.”

9. Penryn and Raffe – Angelfall

I ship Penryn and Raffe with all force, so when she made a move and kissed him, I was thrilled, even if he says the worst thing right after it. But come one, did we really believe Raffe at that point? Not a chance!

“I place my hand on his cheek. It’s warm and pleasant. Maybe too pleasant. When his eyes don’t open, I tentatively touch my lips to his.

At first, I get no response and I consider backing off.

Then, his kiss turns hungry.

It is not the gentle kiss of a couple on a first date, nor is it the kiss of a man driven by simple lust. He kisses me with the desperation of a dying man who believes the magic of eternal life is in this kiss.”

                                                                                                                                             (source)

10. Eden and Tyler – Did I Mention I Love You?

After butting heads for half the book, Eden and Tyler finally find some common ground in their step-sibling relationship… yeah, it’s just not what it was supposed to be! They kiss, and then kiss again, and then there’s a huge headache for both of them, because being in love with someone you shouldn’t is not easy.

“His words have just left his lips when I reach out for him, grasping his face in my hands and feeling the warmth of his skin. I slam my lips into his, overwhelmed by the sensation as my eyelids flutter closed and a deafening silence consumes us. It’s agonizing the way my heart thuds against my chest, but exhilarating the way his lips feel against mine.”

Hello, welcome back to another Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is:

Freebie Week! Pick a topic near and dear to your heart! Something you wished was on our official list!

You know the saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover“? Well, yeah, I do that. A LOT! Even when I really want to read a certain book, I’ll choose the prettiest edition of said book, because I love my cover. So, in honour of that, I’m using this freebie to showcase some of my favorite owned book covers. I’ll use PHYSICAL books that I already own, even if they haven’t been read yet.

This Week on TV: Shadowhunters

thisweek_

As we all know by now (or at least SHOULD know), Shadowhunters premiered this week on Freeform (formerly known as ABC Family). After watching episodes 1 and 2, I wanted to share with you guys my thoughts on it. 😉

I’ll start by saying that my expectations were very low. First of all, it’s ABC family, so I wasn’t expecting a masterpiece in terms of budget. Then they went with pretty inexperienced actors for the main roles, and from the promos we could see that some of them weren’t exactly that good. Then Kat @Life and Other Disasters and Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much did a good job at lowering my expectations, given that they had both seen the episodes before I got a chance to.

But to be totally honest, the movie was pretty terrible, so I went to the series thinking that nothing could suck more than that, and I was pleasantly surprised really, because it wasn’t half as bad as I was dreading. So I’ll just present my opinions in the form of list because I don’t want to rant too much about it :).

good_

  • Alberto Rosende as Simon was definitely a brilliant casting choice. And to be honest, he was one of the best parts of these episodes. Keep the good work! Book-Simon for me is a pretty meh characters until he starts dating Isabelle, but Series-Simon is funny as hell, and that boy CAN ACT!

  • Matthew Daddario nailed Alec! This is very important people! First-book-Alec is not likable, and we don’t get to actually know him, Movie-Alec was just too terrible to even mention, but Series-Alec was perfect :D. Matthew just nailed it, totally nailed it, he felt like Alec and I was so happy that the writers at least got some character totally right. By the way, I loved that he was the first one seen on the first episode :D.

  • Simon and Clary felt like best friends. They did, as much as I had a problem with Kat’s portrayal of Clary, her best scenes were definitely with Simon. Maybe Simon just makes everything better.
  • It was funny! I had a few problems with the writing, but the overall feel of the series was fun and action packed, so, well done with that, because that is just how the books are.
  • Alan Van Sprang was pretty great as Valentine. He managed to show us just how crazy Valentine is, while making it pretty clear that Jocelyn is super important to him. Well done.
  • Dot, I liked Dot. At first I wasn’t understanding why they were changing so much of Doroteia, but I like how they did. They made her a support system for Jocelyn and Luke, and making her a real warlock, they also opened up more of her storyline. I didn’t like Doroteia in either the book or the movie, so I was pleasantly surprised here.

bad_

  • Kat McNamara as Clary was as terrible as I feared. Well, no, that’s not entirely true. For the first few minutes of the episode, she was way better than I thought she would be, and then she was just awful throughout the rest of the thing.
  • The writing! OMFG, what was that? I swear that some lines made no sense to me and were a bit cringe-worthy. I realize that these were only the first couple of episodes, and I do hope that going forward, that the writers got a better feeling of their characters and situations, because people, these episodes had some bad lines.
  • The delivery! As if the bad lines weren’t enough, we then had a few characters who just couldn’t deliver their lines… at all. Dominic Sherwood had a definite problem saying his lines, and I’m hoping against hope that it was an accent thing, and as the series progresses, it will get better.

  • The seraph blades… no… no… Now, from the moment I saw them in the trailers and sneak peeks, I knew that the weapons would be a problem. They look like plastic! And they’re retractable?! WTF?! And demons use some kind of seraph blades too… what?! Any shadowhunter can use them? No naming? Bahhhh… I didn’t like the ones in the movie either, but these were pretty terrible.

  • The CGI. Now, I know this show is bound to be on a low budget, and I get that, what I can’t for the life of me fathom is that this is the best they could do. Have you seen that portal?! NOOOOO!!!!
  • Clary and Jace have 0 chemistry… and that just sucks :(.

meh_

  • The Institute. I’m kind of OK with the modernizing the institute and having a  bunch of people there… it definitely feels a little more believable than having 3 kids all alone running around saving the city alone, but I’m not sure how it’s all going to play out.
  • Hodge Starkweather… I DON’T KNOW… yeah, Jon Cor is hot as hell, and hot-Hodge being half naked on his first appearance was a bonus, but having him offer up so much info from the get go like that felt weird to me somehow (maybe because he seemed sincere).

  • Maureen and Simon’s “band”. LOL. I have to laugh at this, especially when Maureen call Clary their “only fan”, considering that that is Maureen’s role in the books. I kind of like that they made Maureen older and Simon and Clary’s friend, it will make the inevitable more painful and her craziness less weird. I’m a bit worried though by how much she looks like Maya, and I’m a bit scared that they might choose to cut Maya from the equation, especially considering how close Simon and Izzy are already.
  • Luke and the werewolves. I kind of like that Luke is now a policeman, and I really like Captain Vargas – I hope she doesn’t turn bad – I think it makes sense with this new arc they’re introducing about the mundane blood, I just wish we had some more explanation about it. Also, I didn’t like his scene with the “2 witnesses”, I know we’re supposed to doubt him, just like Clary, but it felt weird to me.
  • I like the new trajectory they’re setting for Isabelle, where she’s definitely less angry than on the books and more lovable. I guess this is explained by the fact that she doesn’t know about her dad’s cheating, so she never started mistrusting men. I kind of like it. It definitly makes her more fun. I just hope it doesn’t make her less of a kick-ass.

confused

  • Why oh why was Jocelyn giving Clary a stele? I get that the wards were getting weak, and that she would start remembering, but it was very unlike Jocelyn to do that…
  • The story is definitely going fast, and I sort of get it, I would obviously like to see new material not covered in the movie, but I’m a bit scared that they’re just going too fast here. Still, I’m still holding judgment on that front.
  • I’m with Kat on this one: why Chernobyl? 😕 I don’t really get it… but hey, maybe it will be explained?
  • The freaking runes!!! Now, I wasn’t a fan of the runes of the movie, but they were somehow consistent… while I think that here they are trying to show the various degrees of a rune, they are not exactly succeeding, because Jocelyn is supposed to have some permanent runes on her. I also didn’t like how they just appeared on the first episode and I was a bit happier when Jace actually drew a rune on the second one. Let’s see how they’ll do it from now on.
  • Magnus Bane. Now, I love Magnus. Book-Magnus is magnificent! What are they doing with him here, I’m not really sure. Magnus isn’t supposed to run. Nop Nop Nop…

Either way, I can’t wait to see the rest of the season, because it sure as hell was entertaining :D.

The Book Courtship Tag

courtshiptag

Hello, and welcome back to another book tag. This time I’m doing The Book Courtship Tag, that has been around for a while. I was tagged by Travelling in My Bookcase, thank you so much. People, go check out her blog! The Book Courtship Tag which was originally created by LovelyLikeLaura.

Phase 1 – Initial Attraction: A book that you bought because of the cover?

I bought Love in the Time of Global Warming (Francesca Lia Block) 95% because of its gorgeous cover. Go on, have a look at it. Isn’t it just amazing? Unfortunately I had a few problem with the book itself, but the cover is just gorgeous.

Phase 2 – First Impressions: A book that you got because of the summary?

I bought The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion totally because of the summary!

Meet Don Tillman. Don is getting married. He just doesn’t know who to yet. But he has designed a very detailed questionnaire to help him find the perfect woman. One thing he already knows, though, is that it’s not Rosie. Absolutely, completely, definitely not.

Phase 3 – Sweet Talk: A book with great writing?

Renee Ahdieh is a genius, and The Wrath and the Dawn has the most amazing writing.

If you haven’t read it yet, first of, how is it possible? And then, go and pick it up now!

Phase 4 – First Date: A first book of a series which made you want to pick up the rest of the series?

Here I have to go with The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. When I read it I wasn’t as heavily into reading as I am right now, but City of Bones made me go out and get the next 2 books, and then the 3 others, and then The Infernal Devices… you get it, right?

Phase 5 – Late Night Phone Calls: A book that kept you up all night?

I’ve been kept late a few times lately, but the last one was More Than Once by Elizabeth Briggs.

Lately I’ve been staying late to read on Fridays… and when I say late is “it’s almost morning” kind of late.

Phase 6 – Always on my mind: A book you could not stop thinking about?

OMG, Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. BIGGEST BOOK HANGOVER EVER!!! Lol. I read this book in one night – so it could totally have fitted on the previous slot – and afterwards I could not stop thinking about it. I wanted more. I needed more Warner and Juliette. I would go back to open the book and read random chapters. I had a problem. I don’t have it now because the book is physically very far away from me.

Phase 7 – Getting Physical: A book which you love the way it feels?

I love running my hands through all my books… I might have a problem… 😛 Now, I’ll choose a very recent one: Cress by Marissa Meyer. I just love my book, and the embossing on the lettering. The Square Fish editions are just so gorgeous and I’m so glad that I decided to get these ones – even if now I have to wait one year for a physical copy of Winter.

Phase 8 – Meeting the parents: A book which you would recommend to your family and friends?

I would like everyone to read Modern Romance: An Investigation by Aziz Ansari and Eric Klinenberg. I chose a non-fiction one on purpose, because I’m sure most of my family wouldn’t want to read fantasy… And this book is just amazing and it blew my mind. I think everyone should read it… and I mean: EVERYONE!

Phase 9 – Thinking about the future: A book or series you know you will re read many times in the future?

Hmmm, so many… but… Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell… actually, I’m thinking that I might pick it up this month if I can get through all of my TBR on time 🙂 . Reading this one on Christmas time would be the most perfect thing.

Phase 10 – Share the love: Who do you tag?

I will tag… EVERYONE!!! This tag has been around for a long time, so you probably have done it already, but if you haven’t, and you want to, consider yourself tagged, yeah?!

Shadowhunters: Posters

rs_1024x691-151120133053-1024.shadow-hunters-freeform-2.ch.1112015

Yesterday, the Shadowhunters poster was finally released, as well as the character posters you can see below. I have to say, these posters look good, but Kat McNamara still has something about her that doesn’t scream “Clary” to me… I don’t know… What to you guys think?

The Ben ‘n’ Jerry’s Book Tag

benjerry_booktag

Hello guys! Today I bring you a new book tag, the Ben ‘n’ Jerry’s Book Tag, created by Aimal @Bookshelves & Paperbacks, and she was kind enough to nominate me to do this – thank you so much Aimal. So, here we go…

1. Vanilla Caramel Fudge: pick a light, fluffy contemporary

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han is the definition of light, fluffy contemporary. And it’s so good!!!

2. Mint Chocolate Cookie: a new release that you wish everybody would read

I feel like I’ve been saying this a lot lately, but the answer has to be The One Thing (Marci Lyn Curtis). If you haven’t read this book, I ask you: what the hell are you waiting for?

3. Karamel Sutra Core: a last book in a series that you were completely satisfied with

I was super satisfied with the ending of The Infernal Devices. Clockwork Princess was an amazing book, and even though I wouldn’t have minded to have another 10 books about Jem, Tessa and Will, I was happy with the resolution and about knowing that it wasn’t the last time I would be reading about any of them.

4. Cherry Garcia: an ending that was bittersweet

So many books have bittersweet endings… but today, I’ll go with Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. I loved the ending, but I’ll admit that I would like to know if they ever find their way to one another again.

5. Strawberry Shortcake: a book containing your OTP of OTPs

I have too many OTPs to count (actually, I’m thinking about making a list of them, what do you guys think?). Either way, like I was saying, too many to count, but I’ll drop my most recent favorite obsession, and that is Penryn and Raffe from the Penryn & the End of Days trilogy. Guys, the last book is killing me!!!

6. Milk and Cookies: two authors that if they collaborated, they would go perfectly together

I’ll redirect you to a recent Top Ten Tuesday post, because I think that any pairing I put in there would be pretty perfect! – Go HERE!!!

7. Boston Cream Pie: a book that had you turning your pages late into the night

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. I went to sleep when the sun was coming up, it was a wild ride and totally worth it, because this book… wow… wow!!!! Not only did it keep me up all night, it also gave me the biggest book hangover I ever had! It was days before I could stop myself going through its pages re-reading certain chapters… To be honest, it only stopped because the book went to Portugal.

8. Chocolate Therapy: a book that makes you feel better after a long day of life

I’ll go with You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost), Felicia Day’s memoir, because this book made me laugh and smile and cry, but it also made me feel less alone. She’s brilliant and I highly recommend this book.

9. Coffee, Coffee, Buzzbuzzbuzz!: a book not yet released that you can’t wait to get your hands on

There are MANY books coming out that I need right now, but most of all I need The Rose and the Dagger the sequel to The Wrath and the Dawnby Renee Ahdieh, because of that ending. That ending tore me apart!!! I need to know that Khalid is Ok, that Shazi is OK, that Shazi is going back, what she’ll do with her magic, how they’re going to break the curse, …, and I need to see Despina and Jalal actually talking. So yeah… I need it!
