October TBR

octobertbr

Hello! Today I bring you my October TBR. As you might have read at some point – given that I’ve mentioned it A LOT – A week from now I’ll be heading to South Korea and to Japan for 14 days! I’m super excited about it, first of all JAPAN!!!! Then, I’ve only been to Asia once before, and I’m very looking forward to get to know it a little bit better.

I suspect that this will also impact my reading a bit, though I’m not sure if for the better or worse, because from one hand, I’ll have two 20 something hours trips to make. And reading on planes is somehow one of my favorite things. On the other hand, I don’t expect to have much time in the actual places, though South Korea will be mild, given that my companion (a.k.a. my mom) will be working, but in Japan we’ll be running around, and I think that my only time to read will be inside the bullet trains.

But without further ado, here is my TBR for this upcoming month:

octobertbr

1. Cinder by Marissa Meyer – I’ve been wanting to get into The Lunar Chronicles, and now that the Shatter Me trilogy is done and Queen of Shadows read, it is time to start. (I’ve started it this morning, 13 pages in and I already like that Prince… how is this possible?)

2. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer – I hope I manage to read this one as well before I get on that first plane, otherwise it will be the physical book coming along for the ride.

3. Angelfall by Susan Ee – I saved this one for the plane 😀 – See Josie? It’s already on my TBR for this month!

4. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor – Same as the one above

5. Your Voice Is All I Hear by Leah Scheier – This eARC is long overdue, I have to get to it this month without fail.

6. Rikki by Abigail Strom – Also an eARC…

7. The Unfortunate Decisions of Dahlia Moss by Max Wirestone – Ditto, I’m quite excited about this one.

8. Playing the Player by Lisa Brown Roberts – This seems like a light-ish read, so perfect for the travel.

9. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs – As I said in my TTT Fall TBR post, I wanted to read this one around Halloween, just because, I’m not sure I’ll have the time or the will, but I’ll try.

10. The Improbable Theory of Ana and Zak by Brian Katcher – I don’t know if this book will arrive on time… I ordered it along with Everything, Everything and they are bound to arrive on the 7th of this month, well, the problem is that my flight is on the 8th at 6 a.m., so if the books are delayed by one day I won’t be able to pick them up and they’ll be returned to AMAZON… 😦

This is quite an ambitious TBR, especially considering that some of these books are not small, others I have no idea of size, and some are fantasy. But still, the two 20h plane/airport rides + one 2h flight + four 1-2h bullet train rides should provide some time to read. And my kindle is quite stocked if I need further reading material 😉 .

Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Fall TBR

Hello, it’s TUESDAY!!!! Which means it’s Top Ten Tuesday time, a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is Top Ten Books on My Fall TBR, and that is just amazing. So let’s get started…

Top Ten Tuesday

1. The Lunar Chronicles (Marissa Meyer)

I already have the first 3 books, Cinder, Scarlet and Cress, and I fully intent to read it next month 😉 .

2. The Selection Series (Kiera Cass)

I also already have the first trilogy, The Selection, The Elite and The One (and I might even consider reading The Heir…), so I’ll definitely be reading it this fall.

3. Carry On (Rainbow Rowell)

I’m quite excited to read this one 😀 ! (and I’m secretly hoping for an epilogue or something Cath/Levi related).

4. Everything, Everything (Nicola Yoon)

I’ve read so many wonderful things about this book that it is definitely in my fall TBR.

5. The Improbable Theory of Ana and Zak (Brian Katcher)

I’ve been quite excited about this one lately, and it’s burning a hole in my amazon shopping cart… it will have to come home to me soon… very soon, because it sound so so amazing.

6. Me Before You (Jojo Moyes)

After a chat on twitter, I think that I’ll be reading this book soon, so yeah, it’s on my fall TBR

7. Angelfall (Susan Ee)

I bought this book super cheap for my kindle, and I’m so so excited, because I want to get into this trilogy. This one is reserved for my October trip to South Korea and Japan – the advantaged of an e-reader, right?

8. Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Laini Taylor)

Same as Angelfall, I bought this book for my kindle, because it was so damn cheap and I’ve been wanting it for a long long time. Also, it will be read on the same trip as the one above 😉 .

9. The Princess Bride (William Goldman)

I want to read this one bad! I hope I make it during the fall, otherwise, it will be a winter thing.

10. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Ransom Riggs)

I think that this might be the perfect Halloween book, for some reason. So I might give it a go around then. I do want to read the whole trilogy, but it’s unlikely that I’ll have time for all of it this fall, so I’ll be happy if I manage to read this one.

Top Ten Tuesday: Finished Series I Have YET to Finish

It’s Tuesday, September 8th, which means that it’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is:  Finished Series I Have YET to Finish. The thing is, when I start a finish series, I’ll devour it pretty quickly and one book right after the other. So, there aren’t many finished series that I’ve started and have not finished yet. With that in mind, I’ll share the finish series that I want to start until the end of this year.

Top Ten Tuesday

1. The Maze Runner by James Dashner

mazerunner

This is in fact the only finished series that I’ve started and have not finished… I’ve only read the first book yet. I will finish it though, I really want to…

 2. Mistborn (the original trilogy) by Brandon Sanderson

I’m so so curious about this series…

3. The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

maxresdefault

Same for this one, the only reason I haven’t bought it yet is because I haven’t found the 3 books at the same moment.

4. Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan

Percy Jackson and the Olympians

I do own the first 2 books for a while now, maybe  Christmas will me the right time to get into it.

5. Heroes of Olympus by Rick Riordan

heroes-of-olympus

This will follow, as soon as I finish the Percy Jackson series.

6. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

I already have the first book. I bought it super cheap for my kindle! This because I want the hardcover, which are beautiful and expensive. I’ll probably read it on my upcoming trip in October… lots of hours inside airplanes with my Kindle.

7. Penryn and the End of Days by Susan Ee

penryn

Much like the one above, I already own the first book in this series, and I’ll be reading it on my upcoming trip in October as well.

8. The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

tolkien

I will read at least The Hobbit before the year ends… probably… hopefully…

9. The Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness

Chaos-Walking-Covers

I’ve read so many great things about this trilogy that I need to check it out.

10. The Mara Dyer Trilogy by Michelle Hodkin

I’ve been curious about this series for a while, though I don’t know if it’s really my thing. It’s also on the bottom of my To Read List right now.
