The Autumn Book Tag

Here we are, for another Fall-themed book tag! This time I was tagged by TRAVELLING IN MY BOOKCASE and Trisha @The Bookgasm, thank you both so much. Now, let’s do this.

What is your favourite thing about Autumn?

EVRYTHING!!! I love the beginning of the cold weather, the occasional rain, the cold wind on my face, the fact that I can snuggle in my comforter without being all hot and stuff. I like the hot drinks and the heavier food. I like that all the TV shows are back – even though I’m behind on all of them right now. I love everything about it.

What book reminds you of your school days?

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. I read this one while in college and I remember being on my one hour commute to college in the morning (and by morning I mean 7 a.m.) and reading this book nonstop. Yes, by “school” I’m going with college, because really, I’m old, and any other kind of school was too long ago.

What book cover reminds you of Autumn?

You won’t know this one, Unless you’re from Portugal, and in that case you’ll obvious recognize this book, because you probably have it too. The cover of A Floresta by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen always reminds me of Autumn…

What is your favourite horror or Halloween story?

Not applicable because I don’t read either.

What is your favourite horror or Halloween film?

I also try not to watch horror movies. I always liked Practical Magic, is that considered a Halloween movie?

What Fall book release are you most looking forward to?

I feel like I’m a bit late for that, considering that we’re almost at the end of November and Winter will be here in a few weeks… But I was really excited for the release of Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, though I’ve had the book for almost a month and I still haven’t read it.

What Autumn movie release are you most anticipating?

Again, I’m super late for this one!!! Mockingjay part II for sure, and I watched it just yesterday 😀 .

What are three books you plan to read this Autumn?

I plan to finish Cress by Marissa Meyer and get to Carry On by Rainbow Rowell in the next week or so.

This is it for this tag! I won’t tag anyone because, let’s face it, this season is almost over and soon we’ll be flooded by the Winter Tags…

Fall Time Cozy Book Tag

Hey people, here we go for another book tag. This one’s Fall themed (see, I even changed the colours to reflect that 😀 ) and I was tagged by Joey @Thoughts and Afterthoughts, so thank you Joey 😉 .

Crunching Leaves:

The world is full of colour. Choose a book that has reds, oranges and yellows on the cover.

City of Fallen Angels (Cassandra Clare) – My guess is that this is many people’s answer…

Cozy Sweater:

It’s finally cold enough to don warm cosy clothing. What book gives you the warm fuzzies?

Fangirl (Rainbow Rowell) – this book gives all the warm feelings possible and then some… I want to re-read it… bad!

Fall Storm:

The wind is howling and the rain is pounding. Choose your favourite book OR genre that you like to read on a stormy day.

A stormy day is just perfect to read, right? Anything will do really, but I’m picking a book (I like to put cover here, it looks good!).  A good contemporary is perfect for a stormy day.

Cool Crisp Air:

Who’s the coolest character you’d want to trade places with?

Joey is right, this is a weird question! I wouldn’t mind trading places with Beth from Attachments (Rainbow Rowell). She’s awesome, I like her so much, but the best part about trading places with her – not mentioning her job, which is mostly watching movies – would be hanging out with Lincoln… I wouldn’t mind that at all.

Hot Apple Cider:

What under hyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?

Hmmmm, ok, this is a double edge sword right here. I’m gonna say The One Thing by Marci Lyn Curtis. I’ve been raving about this book for a while now, and for good reason, this book is absolutely fantastic, so I think that everyone should read it. From the other side, sometime hyping a book can have some problems.

Coat, Scarves and Mittens:

The weather has turned cold and it’s time to cover up. What’s the most embarrassing book cover you own that you like to keep hidden in public?

Hmmm, is there such a thing as an embarrassing book cover?  A couple of years ago I would think so, if in public, I would probably try to hide my Twilight or Harry Potter books, but now, honestly, I don’t give a f**k. You can judge all you like, I don’t care. I’ll relish in the fact that I probably read way more than most people who will snicker at my book, and I’m happier because of it. So, if reading makes me happy, I’m not ashamed of something that makes me feel like that.

Pumpkin Spice:

What’s your favourite fall time comfort food/foods?

Is this a thing? Do comfort foods have seasons? (We are not big in the whole pumpkin thing here in Portugal and Spain). Still, there’s one seasonal thing that I wait all year to find at Starbucks, and that is the Chocolate and Hazelnut Muffin, I love it so so much, but we only have it during November and December, and then it is gone. Usually i have a Toffee Nut Latte with my muffin (only during Christmas season). Oh, and I love Eggnog Latte, but we don’t get those here, I had it in London and loved it.

This is it. As usual lately, I won’t tag anyone specifically, instead I’ll tag EVERYONE who’s interested in doing this tag, so consider yourself tagged!

Book Traveling Thursdays: Fall is finally here!

Hello, welcome back to Book Traveling 168709Thursdays, which a weekly meme created by Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @Danielle’s Book Blog. The goal is to share the covers of a book related to that week’s theme, which you can see at the Goodreads group, indicating the original cover, the one of your country, your favorite and least favorite.

This week’s theme is “Fall is finally here! Choose a book that brings you nostalgic ‘fall feelings’“. Fall feelings?! Oh Man! I can’t think of any… the closest thing that comes to me is Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell… it starts in August, and part of the action is during the fall. But I read it in the spring. But I have a fall feeling about it… maybe(?!). I’m going with it!

Original & Favorite cOver:

I love love love this cover! This is the original US cover and it’s just gorgeous! I own the yellow one, which is also nice, but not as nice as this one.

Both covers from Portugal and Spain are very close to the original one, the only difference being the placing of the name and the raving from John Green. Wait, did you noticed it? Portugal has a cover for this book! This is the only Rainbow Rowell book that exists in Portuguese.

The first British edition is so bad. I usually don’t mind these covers, but the drawings here have nothing to do with the characters and story. Then the Indonesian cover is pretty bad, I mean, what is that? Other pretty bad one is the one from Italy, because once again, it has nothing to do with the story. And finally the one from Latvia, the cover is not that bad, but the drawing is all wrong and why did they translate Rainbow’s name?
