The Inside Out Book Tag

Hey, in celebration of the fact that I just watched Inside Out this week and loved it, I decided it was time for this book tag! This time I was tagged by Raven @Dreamy Addictions and Anjie @Love Thy Shelf and Prima @Panda Loves Books, thank you so much Raven, Anjie and Prima 😀 !

A book that brings you joy

For Joy (which by the way, I’m totally getting a POP figure of Joy), I chose a book that gave me great joy last month, You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost), by (the Queen) Felicia Day.

A book that makes you angry

I’m gonna go with Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi, which I just spent the whole night reading. I love book so much, but I was so angry for some parts of it. *SPOILERS* Adam just made me so damn angry throughout this book, the things he says to Juliette, wow, there was a moment there that I had to shut the book and take a deep deep breath!

A book that makes you sad

So many books make me sad… but I’m going for More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera. This book made me cry sad tears 😦 .

A book that Disgust You

I usually don’t go for books that will disgust me, obviously. Right? The obvious answer to this would be something like 50 Shades of Grey, but I have no intentions of reading those books (sorry to whomever enjoyed them). So I’m going for another book in the Shatter Me series… sorry people, but it took over my life this week and I’m having a hard time letting go. It’s a toss between Destroy Me and Unravel Me and both for the same reason: Paris Anderson. I wanted to put more than a couple of bullets in his head, what he did to Warner?! GRRRRR!!!!

A book that brings you fear

For Fear I’m going with An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. Those trials gave me the heebie-jeebies, and I was terrified for Laia and Elias’ lives.

This was fun! For everyone who hasn’t watched this fantastic movie yet, what are you waiting for? For those who saw it and haven’t done this tag yet, consider yourself tagged!

Movie of the Week: Inside Out

I’ll level with you, this has been a terrible month for my relationship with movies. I had a long list of movies that I wanted to go watch at the cinema, but each time I set a day aside to go to Barcelona to watch one, I just didn’t! I was in no mood, none whatsoever. So, the university opened again on Tuesday (1/9) and suddenly I’m not alone anymore, lol, so I thought that handling 6 hours of a lot of people was enough for one day and I left early and headed to the movies. Yes, the only thing that actually made me move was the fact that otherwise I would be listening to people for at least 5 more hours!

Anyhow… I decided to watch Inside Out, because I needed a laugh and thought that was safer than The Fantastic Four or any other action movie. Lucky for me, the movie was still at the closest Original Version Cinema in Barcelona, near Plaça de Catalunya 🙂 . It also gave me an opportunity to find out that a Costa Cafe opened near there (on the same street as a Starbucks, dumb move!) – I had lunch there, had a cappuccino, regretted it slightly… moving on!

This movie, wow, this movie is FANTASTIC!!!! Holy Crap, totally magnificent! It’s my favorite Disney-Pixar Movie, for sure.

I didn’t have much idea of the plot before it started, but I was so pleasantly surprised. I loved Riley and I loved all of her emotions and her islands, so precious. I don’t even have coherent words for it, but I’ll tell you that I was laughing and then I was crying, and then I was laughing and crying at the same time (and wiping my tears with my t-shirt because I forgot my paper-tissues). It’s ok to be happy, it’s ok to be sad, angry, and feel disgust and fear, all these emotions are part of us, and they make us complete. We are all emotional complex, deal with it!

The actors were amazing in their parts, Lewis Black as spot on! Bill Hader was Fear, and I thought he did great as well.

But the ladies were magnificent! Mindy Kaling played Disgust and OMG, she was so funny. Phyllis Smith was my favorite though, I loved Sadness, and I loved how she portrayed her. having watched every season of The Office, I immediately recognized her voice, and honestly, no one could do it as well as she. And of course, Amy Poehler does a terrific job as Joy and I loved her so so much!!!!

I can’t say enough how amazing this movie is. Have you seen it? Did you liked it?! 😀

Tiny Pleasures #8

tiny pleasuresOk, let’s from now on assume that I’ll do this on a monthly (or 2 weeks) basis, and not weekly, because my life is boring as hell, ok? So, The Weekly Small Pleasures is a weekly feature created by A New Life Wandering.

1. The Guild!!!

After listening to Felicia Day’s book, You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost), I decided to watch the thing that had made her (that she made). I was so not disappointed. The show is incredible and I grew super attached to these characters that I saw on screen only for a few hours…

2. Winter is closer!

DSC04646This won’t sound weird at all, if you’ve been paying attention… I hate the summer, truly truly hate it. Between the sun, me sweating buckets and the mosquito bites, I’m super ready for it to be over. So, not only are we in September, but I already made my first Winter-shopping! I bought 2 scarves (thingies) and a beanie! They’re so gorgeous!!! I can’t wait to be cold enough to wear it.

3. Amazing Blogging Month!

This past month was incredible in terms of blogging. I posted every single day, 3 to 4 posts a day, I reached 500 followers, and I met a ton of wonderful new people. So happy!

I had a lovely time talking to everybody and posting like crazy 😀 !!!

4. Inside Out is freaking AMAZING!!!

I don’t know why I put it off for so long, but I finally went to watch Inside Out and OH MY GOSH!!! That movie is phenomenal. So many feels! I was laughing, then crying, then laughing AND crying… what a rollercoaster of emotions!

 5. I’m in love with my new Day Planner!

So so in love with it!!! Isn’t it pretty?! The only issue I have with it is that it’s in spanish… but hey, I can live with that!

6. An Empty University!

IMG_20150821_205505August is a month when nobody goes to the university. And I mean NOBODY! There were days when the sign in sheet only had a couple of pages! I don’t get it, but hey, it meant I was alone in my office (without AC, obviously, because it’s August!) and that I got to see some beautiful sunsets on my way out, without people in the way.

7. I’m going home (for a week)!

I’m spending one week in Portugal later this month. I was there in July, but I already miss home… This time I’ll be able to see my brother (he lives in Angola), so I’m happy about that.
