Oh YEAHHHH!!! I’m so happy about this news! NBC announced that Law & Order SVU will return next year for its 18th season :D. Well done!

This Week on TV (6 – 12 April)
Jane the Virgin: Chapter 17
I’m not liking this, they’re putting a pretty big edge between Jane and Rafael and I’m not comfortable with it. I hate to see them so distant 😦 …
What it is that Michael ex-girlfriend is playing at?! I get that she wants Michael back, but why the hell befriend Jane if she knows full well who she is?!
I really like Petra! Since her mother went away, I like her more each episode. What I’m not liking is the fact that she’s still very much into Rafael. But let’s all admit it, she’s pretty smart, finding out that Aaron is indeed Roman it’s pretty cool – I actually believed that she felt something for him…
Let’s give it to Rogelio, saying that he’s getting there with Xo, but she needs to get along with his mother in order for him to say “I love you”.
iZombie: Liv and Let Clive
This one is probably my least favorite episode of iZombie so far.
On the case, Liv eats the brain of a murder victim, killed by the Chinese mafia, and has visions that lead her to believe that Clive is a dirty cop. The brain also gives her mad Kung-Fu skills and a huge onset of paranoia. Turns out that obviously Clive was not dirty, but undercover, and he really did not want Liv to see that side of him… ohhhhh….
Meanwhile, Liv, worried that Major’s girlfriend is making the move to move in with him, convinces Ravi to be his roommate. Against all odds, that actually works out great, they end up having a few (gaming) things in common and I suspect that from now on Liv will spend much more time with her boss and ex-boyfriend. By the way, if I haven’t said it before, here it is, Ravi is my favorite, he’s just amazing!
Blaine, turns out, is quite the intrapeneour. He has created a few (a lot) of zombies and has a full business catering to their needs. His life style involves frequent trips to the hairstylist, manicures and tanning. Oh, what a life!
Forever: Best Foot Forward
The case was kind of cool this week =D, it went a totally different way than I expected and that is always refreshing.
Henry’s flashbacks to the 20’s were important, it showed what some people are willing to do for their art, even if it’s quite hard to grasp around it.
Abe works with Lucas in order to find Abigail, and tadda… Lucas finds her – obviously he doesn’t know that Abe’s mom is in fact Henry’s wife, but hey… they found her!
On that note, Abe goes to tell his dad that his mom is located right at the time that Jo was about to explain to Henry why the hell she did not want to go to Paris with her boyfriend – spoiler alert Henry, I think it has something to do with the fact that she has feelings for you… just saying!
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Afterlife
Fitz-Simmons!!! Fitz-Simmons!!! I was never so happy so see a sandwich… mind you, I cried when I saw that stupid sandwich… you go Fitz-Simmons! After months of seeing them apart and not being able to communicate, it was truly wonderful to see them so in sync, even though apparently they were anything but. For a moment there I thought that Simmons’s loyalties were wavering, but then she showed that not only is she loyal to SHIELD, but she’s also very loyal to Coulson and her team. You go girl!
Meanwhile, Coulson and Hunter try to find Skye, and when they don’t find her, and after Coulson remarks that the new SHIELD are not the bad guys, they decide that they can’t stand still, they’re going to fight back. Coulson asks for reinforcements, a.k.a. Deathlok, and the three of them go on to find what HYDRA is doing with powered people, with the goal that it will lead them to Skye… it involves however to ally with someone bad, Grant Ward. I laughed so hard at Coulson’s interactions with Hunter, they’re both so hilarious. I understand the need to bring Ward back, given that he’s still a part of the show and all that, but I’m not missing him at all in this series…
Skye wakes up in the place they call Afterlife (hence the title of this episode). She meets her transitioner, Lincoln (Luke Mitchell), who heals her injuries and prepares her for training. But she’s smart and an agent after all and she knows he’s not telling her everything. She then finds that Raina is there and Skye is prepared to make her pay for everything she did, but then someone stops her, an elder. Not only a freaking elder, but Skye’s mom! You know, the one her father told us was dead?! Apparently not so!! Very much alive, how?! No idea! But she wants to be Skye’s trainer, for obvious reasons, though poor Skye has no idea.
Skye’s dad though is kept looked away, with Gordon being “the key”. Gordon is creepy, there’s something that he says that I’m pretty sure it means that Cal and Skye are not meant to be alive for much longer. Still, he has his role to play, and he takes Jiaying to see her husband (ex?!), and while she confirms that Skye is there with them, she points out tells him that he’s not going to see her. Outch! I’m starting to not like this Inhumans very much, apart from Lincoln, he seems nice and cute and hot.
Weird Loners: Weird Dance
I’m still not sure about this new show… I really hope that Stosh stops trying to stick his tong down Karen’s throat – especially if she’s eating at the time… gross!
Zara is pretty much my favorite so far.
Law & Order: SVU: Granting Immunity
Distribution of child pornography and anti-vaxers on the same episode… genius!
I really like the way they handled the problems and complications that arise from unvaccinated children. It’s a real problem people! And that first sequence, when we actually see the dissemination process was super well done.
Poor Nick, do all his children have to move away?! And are he and Rollins still together?!
And poor Liv, how many more times is little Noah going to go to the hospital?! They both deserve a break.
Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders
The backdoor pilot for the new spin-off series and I loved it. Taking Criminal Minds beyond the borders sounds beyond interesting and I can´t wait to see them deal with all the diplomatic problems that it entails.
I quite liked the team, but if I had to pick my least favorite it was Anna Gunn’s Lily Lambert. I honestly don’t know why, maybe I’m just not a fan of Gunn’s acting… but the way she calmly talks, it kind of annoys me (I also had this problem while watching Gracepoint).
(How weird is it that on this episode there was a “Fitz” and a “Simmons”?!?!?!)
(A series with Daniel Henney?! Yes please!)
Young & Hungry: Young & Munchies
Silly me that only this week realized that Young & Hungry was back! I had a wonderful time watching that gang again.
First of all, I really like the intro, I don’t remember ever watching it during the first season.
Josh is funnier than ever, now that he knows his feelings for Gabby and (unfortunately) knows that she’s happy with someone else, his character gained a whole new and bigger dimension. Meanwhile, I just want to slap Gabby, sorry girl, but she should be with Josh!
The Big Bang Theory: The Fortification Implementation
Howard’s got himself a brother! That’s pretty cool, I always love when there’s some development in the characters outside the main duo. This has potential, I can’t wait to see what they’ll do with it.
Amy and Sheldon have their first sleep over… on a blanket fort on the living room, but hey, it’s better than nothing and it will involve both of them in their pajamas, so…
Wil Wheaton is back, man, that guy is always funny. Penny and Leonard’s fight however, not so much. The initial argument, about her having a job now, I can tolerate. The second one, about her making way more money than him… bah! I see his point, man, he studied all his life, it’s not the same as Bernadette and Howard, where she makes more than him, but she has a PhD and he doesn’t. Here, Leonard has studied so much, and still Penny makes twice what he does?! He can’t believe it. And I can’t believe what he said… Poorly done!
This Week on TV (23-29 Mar)
Scorpion: Young Hearts Spark Fire
While trying to rescue a group of hikers from a mountain, team Scorpion’s helicopter crashes, eventually causing a wildfire. While Sylvester stays behind with the pilot, the rest of the team goes and tries to find the hikers.
My favorite bits of this episode involved Toby. First, Toby diagram with the explanation on why he knows that Walter is in love Paige, to which Walter denies (though not very convincingly). Then there’s all those wonderful interactions between Toby and Happy… after their kiss last week, he’s acting all protective of her (though she thinks it’s annoying) and ends up telling her that he’s in love with her. I was so glad that she did not run!!!!
The Flash: Rogue Time
After the all the distress that was last week, when Barry finds himself on the day before, he decides to change a few things up and arrest the Weather Wizard before he’s able to do any real damage. Dr. Wells warns him of the consequences, but really how could this day be any worse than the previous one?!
Well, Captain Cold and Heat Wave return (with Cold’s sister), they kidnap Cisco and his brother and force him to disclose the Flash’s true identity. Meanwhile Barry, so sure now of Iris feelings, decides to make a HUGE move on her, only to be punched by Eddie – sorry dude, but you totally deserved that!
In the end Barry has a talk with Cold, where he considers that he doesn’t have to kill people to get what he wants and then he decides to relocate… all very civil! I get why they did this, they’re clearly paving the way for the new show, but although I can comprehend that Cold doesn’t really have to hurt people, he really likes to be in control, I don’t see Heatwave playing by the same rules… so it will be definitely fun to watch how that plays out.
There was a nice parallel between Cisco and Well’s talk this week and the last. In both Well’s told Cisco that he saw him as a son and was proud of him, but this week he did not kill him!!! Hurray for that! He does kill someone though, Iris’s boss, which leads Barry to suspect that something is up with Wells. Well done Barry, it only took you 16 episodes!!!!
By the way, the time in which Cisco can build 3 extremely different guns out of someone’s house – not a lab – is amazing… more over if you consider that one of those guns fires gold (?!).
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Love in the Time of Hydra
Remember when we were all worrying about Mac when he was stuck in the city?! Oh, well, not I’m wishing he had died right away, maybe that way we could have kept Tripp. The “Real SHIELD” unveiled itself this week to Hunter, they say that stand for truth and honesty and transparency, Coulson, like Fury, keeps way too many secrets and that’s not how SHIELD should run.
Hunter (luckily) is having none of it – I always liked Hunter, but now I love him, and I can’t believe how Mac and Morse are acting… though I still have a slight hope that Morse is indeed a double agent and that she will side with Coulson in the end. Hunter managed to escape this new SHIELD, though he’s unable to contact Coulson.
After May and Coulson talk, he decides to bring Skye to a secure and secret location, where she can be safe and work on her powers… she feels like she’s in prison, but really, amazing timing. Simmons delivers Coulson a new pair of gloves for Skye, that will minimize the effects of her powers, but she’s feeling conflicted about it. Fitz, for his hand, thinks that there’s nothing wrong with Skye, or him for that matter, the real one on the wrong there is Simmons, she has given up to her fears and insecurities and is too much changed. He’s so on the nose with this one, Simmons IS changed for the worst and her new behavior unfortunately falls right in line with the new SHIELD.
The Ward and Agent 33 storyline was just plain weird… I liked that it involved Talbot, but that was it… I found it utterly dispensable.
Arrow: Suicidal Tendencies
Now I’m officially not getting Felicity, I mean, she’s right with all that “I want someone who’s not afraid to be happy”, but after Ray doubted her in that way, I was a little disappointed that she did not give him any crap – she has no trouble doing so with Oliver, so why was she so ready to be all lovey dovey with Ray?!
They better start fixing it!
I get that Captain Lance is hurt with his daughter and everything, he has the right to be, but he’s going a bit off the rails…
And Maseo?! WTF?! Now you’re imitating the Arrow too?! I’m so disappointed, I like(d) him so much.
I will miss Deadshot!
Diggle and Lila’s wedding was wonderful, but I wish we could have seen a bit more of it… maybe Oliver’s best man speech?! Felicity catching the bouquet and glancing at Ollie?!
Law & Order: SVU: Parole Violations
This week the episode dealt with the abuse and power that Parole Officers have upon the parolees, it finally introduced some background and family for Carisi and dealt with the fact that men can be raped by women.
I don’t think they had ever gone there in 17 years, and I’m so glad they finally did. Rape in itself is a taboo, but somehow, when it’s the fact that men can in fact be raped by women, there’s more than a taboo, there’s a huge disbelief. Not so long ago I was having a talk with my mother (highly intelligent and liberal woman) and we were talking about rape and for some reason I brought up this particular subject (men being raped by women) and she (intelligent, worldly woman) said that she did not think it was possible for such a thing to happen… So I’m glad that they finally took on a case that not only shows that it happens, it can happen, and unfortunately how unlikely it is to be acknowledge.
Supernatural: Paint it Black
How can they still put a new spin on old ghost stories still amazes me. Dean, confession, church and nuns?! Funny as usual.
Criminal Minds: Rock Creek Park
The case this week was a bit f* up, even though it wasn’t at all creepy or weird or deadly. But the fact that those 2 people had such a twisted view of things… wow…
But there’s only one thing that matters in this episode (besides the fact that Kate is already showing), was that little bit in the end… REID GOT A DATE!!!! I’m so happy for him!!!
This week on TV (4-6 Feb)
Here’s the rest of last week…
Arrow (Uprising):
Oliver Queen finally made it back to Starling City, our favorite team finally got rid of Brick in the Glades and a weird alliance was formed between Oliver and Malcolm Merlyn.
The only thing I can say about this episode it that it really let me down… man, this small “trilogy” deserved a better ending.
First thing, what’s up with the timeline on this episode?! How far is Oliver? Because he manages to get there (in suit) at about the same time that all the others get there… weird.
I love Sin, I think that she was a great carather to have around for Sara, because it grounded her, I liked that she was the one to tell Lance that the Canary is not Sara, but doesn’t she know that Roy is the guy in the red suit?
Speaking of Roy/Arsenal, at least Lance knows who he is… Lance knows, Thea knows… how exactly don’t they know that Oliver is the one in green?
WTF?! So, Diggle is second on communications and not on the field? What’s up with that?! He’s better than Laurel any day of the week.
Why get Wildcat back?! So they could kill him?! Or almost kill him… not sure what happened there…
I love Tatsu, that said, she could just have come with Oliver to Starling and helped him do what he needs to do… she has mad skills.
Do we talk about Malcolm’s wig…?!?!?!?
When the Arrow got to the Glades, Team Arrow was there, right? So how come they watch his speech from the Arrow cave? And that’s all the reaction we get? How about some tears people?
I get why Oliver made a deal with Merlyn, what I don’t get is why Felicity (who is such a smart woman) didn’t even gave him a chance to explain the reality of the situation. I’m not saying that she doesn’t have her reasons to not jump into his arms – although her justification did not justify it – I’m saying that one thing doesn’t have anything to do with the other. So, she dreamed things could be different between them, ok, nobody said they couldn’t, maybe she should have let the guy explain that he doesn’t want to be dead, he doesn’t want to see his family and friends dead with him… just saying…
That said, I still love Felicity, obviously, but she needs to chill.
Criminal Minds (Hero Worship):
I love any episode that is Reid related. But please tell me that Dylan Einstein, the Forensic specialist will be making a return? Please… if she returns into Reid’s arms, I won’t complaint…
Law & Order: SVU (Decaying Morality):
Finally got my SVU in day and this episode is seriously messed up…
Baby Daddy (Over My Dead Bonnie):
Funny as usual, but I was beginning to wonder how much longer they would drag us through the potential something between Riley and Danny, while Ben was pretty much on to it. This was the episode, a heartbroken Ben finally broke up with his girlfriend, because she made his brother more of a priority than him… wow… Ben is usually the guy who’s unaware of stuff, but in this he was spot on… poor guy. And Riley?! Her defense was “I’ve been in love with you so long that I never thought about my feelings for Danny”… outch!
The Big Bang Theory (The Troll Manifestation):
That was a surprise. Throughout the whole episode I thought it would be one of Sheldon’s nemesis, or Wil Wheton messing with him, but it turned out to be the great Stephen Hawking! WOW!
I would kill for Sheldon’s mad ability of writing and publishing a paper overnight… kill I say!
Also, Amy’s fanfiction!!! OMG!!! We will never unsee that!
Season 17 for Law and Order: SVU
2014/15-TVshows Week planning!
Law & Order: SVU season 16 on the way!
Hell Yeah! Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is amazing… NBC announced yesterday that they renewed the amazing show for it’s 16th season! So, so happy… it’s still one of the best shows on TV, in my opinion.
Law & Order: SVU… please don’t go there…
Last week in SVU we saw Cragen leave and leaving Benson in charge of the unit, while Amaro is still in a bad place due to the shooting and being on desk duty, and Rollins is gambling again.
Poor Olivia has a lot to deal with: her relationship with Brian doesn’t sound like it’s in a good place, Amato is not okay and dumping a lot on her and Amanda is not showing up on time because she’s gambling a lot. So the last shot of yesterday’s episode bummed me out. Why?! Because they showed Olivia drinking… a lot… a lot a lot.
So please SVU, do not go there! Don’t make Olivia have a drinking problem, please! There is already so much going on… she doesn’t deserve that!
TV Shows… just random
Just a few random thought about the last few weeks of tv shows…
2 Broke Girls: I’m sorry, but was just me who thought that the second episode of the season – And The Kickstarter – was a bit (or a lot) offensive? Come on, the girl says that she doesn’t have money not even to dry clean her pants, but she starts a founding project for a $1,500 pants! Really?! Was I also the only one who didn’t like the new day waiter and that thought that the whole Starbucks thing was a bit too much?
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Still the best new sitcom in my opinion… Damn, it just gets funnier! Dean Winters was on this last one, I guess the man just really loves to play a NYC cop.
Mom: After a so-so premiere, the show is finding it’s ground! Funny episodes in the whole, and the guest appearence of Justin Long last week just made it better. Can we have him, like, always?!
Trophy Wife: Funny enough! I’m surely glad they had to recast the daughter…
Welcome to the family: I don’t know if it’s because I just love all the actor, or I really like the show… Second best of the new sitcoms for me, although it’s low rating on IMDB! But Mike O’Malley and Mary McCormack are just so good…
Back in the Game: Still not sure! I like Maggie Lawson and the kids… but I don’t see the story evolving…
The Millers: I know it has Will Arnett and everything… but come on: cemetery plots? Really? CBS’ Mom, The Millers and The Crazy Ones Get Full-Season Orders
The Crazy Ones: It has it’s moments… the learning to drive moment was hilarious.
The Big Bang Theory: Last week episode we got to see that the girls are always the smartest! Amy found a plot hole in Raiders, Bernie didn’t fall for her husband’s crap and Penny, after finding out that Leonard was taking advantage of his “mommy issues” tell-tells on him to his mommy… Genius!
How I Met Your Mother: I can’t even talk about it, I’m finding the ending quite hard to deal with. =P
Castle: Oh Yeah! Kate is back to the NYPD…. Aleluia!
Criminal Minds: The BAU has a new boss, that JJ knows somehow (although it’s clear it’s not an affair) and the boss is cool. I say he’s a keeper! Also, we get Kevin’s voice but no Kevin?! No fair!
Law & Order SVU: Munch is out, Olivia may be in, that is, she might be becoming the new Sargeant. Great cases throughout the weeks, they never cease to amaze me.
New Girl: Nick and Jess are great and everything, but the show has to find storyline beyond their relationship as a couple and how that affects the rest. It’s getting boring and annoying.
Elementary: Guys, can we see more of Rhys Ifans as Mycroft Holmes? And damn, but Watson is amazing me with her training, she’s beyond good.
Law & Order SVU: Farewell Sgt. John Munch
It’s a sad day for all the SVU fans: Sgt. John Munch, a.k.a. Richard Belzer, has retired!
Richard Belzer has played the Detective turned Sergeant in a total of 10 different shows in the last 21 years, spending his last 15 in the Special Victims Unit, along with Benson and co. Although he doesn’t hold the record for the most appearances by the same character (462), no one beats him in the number of cross-overs he did.
The farewell episode opened with Munch retirement dinner, soon interrupted by a call to Olivia from a former and current rape victim. Still, the brief moments in the beginning made us laugh and cry a little, but luckily NBC released the entire Munch speech.
Great to see everybody at ease, as well as familiar faces from the olden days, including Munch first partner at SVU and Olivia’s beau, Cassidy. Missing though, were ADA Barba and Melinda Warner (given that Raúl Esparza is now part of the main cast, it would have been appropriate).
At least, they said that Munch leaving doesn’t mean he’s leaving for good, as he’s now a recurrent cast member. =)
Although extremely sad by his departure, I think it was time and was done quite nicely…
