As it surely comes as no surprise, I read this book with Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much, as buddy read, well… we started it more or less together, and then she finished it when I was still at like 25% of the book – she’s that fast! Check out her blog in the next few days for her take on this book.
This book was super cute and easy to read. The book is told in dual POV, from Grace and Noah’s perspectives, and on the first person – my favorite. The writing flows well and is funny, with a lot of dialogue, which is always a plus for me.
I really liked both main characters too. Grace was a girl who grew up with everything, all the money, all the things, but not nearly enough love and presence from her parents. So she’s determined to make a name for herself, through her hard work, and she doesn’t want things handed to her by her dad. I really liked this, because even though she was clearly spoiled, she understood the value of things. Noah Hunter was just dreamy, I mean, bar owner who built his own house, and is the guardian of his little brother? Dreamy!
The connection and chemistry between Grace and Noah was amazing, their scenes together were romantic and hot, and their connection felt real.
My main problem with this book was how fast things happened all around. While I liked Grace and Noah’s relationship, it did happen way too fast. Since the moment they actually enter a relationship, to the point that every hell breaks loose, it has been a week, and they are in love. That didn’t sit well. I also needed to see them bonding more, and getting to know each other better, especially with everything important that came between them, especially the fact that Jonah was a huge part of Noah’s life. I also wanted Noah’s backstory a little more fleshed out, because the explanation felt way too rushed and glassed over.
Despite this, I still really enjoyed this book. It was fun and entertaining, and a super easy read. So, if you like heartwarming and light NA romances, I would recommend this one to you.
