What a romantic episode! I can’t believe we waited 46 episodes on the first anime for Mamoru and Usagi to get together, and now, on episode 7, here they are, professing their love for each other. I loved it!
Things I really loved about this episode:
(Venus?! Did you lost your tiara?! =| )
I’m loving this reboot, loving it, I love the pace of it, I only miss the bonding time between the girls, and now, with Venus being introduced in the next act, I hope we get some more girl time.
I’ve been loving SMC so far. How could I not? It’s my childhood anime, I always loved it, to this day my cousins recall how I would stop anything to watch it and record it, and then watched it again.
But since act 5, SMC has broken completely free from the previous anime and has gained a life of its own, and man, it’s epic! The introduction of Mako-chan was amazing and with much more depth to it than the original run (which I saw only yesterday!), but this week’s episode took the anime in a whole different way, by introducing Tuxedo Mask properly in just the 6th episode (and giving Mamoru’s back story in the 7th, in a couple of weeks).
By the way, I reckon this guy right here is the source of my “black hair/blue eyes” fantasy… and he just got cuter on this one…
But act 6 was about a lot more than introducing Tuxedo Mask, was about deepening his bond with Usagi, and Usagi coming to her own in her new role as the team leader.
I loved that although Minako wasn’t introduced yet, her presence was strong in this episode. She told Usagi that she believes in her and later, when Usagi is dreaming (in Mamoru’s bed, might I had), Minako’s is the first face she sees (along with Artemis).
I love that Mamoru actually took Usagi to his bed (forward much?!) and that it didn’t take her a long time to realize that they are one and the same!
Can’t wait for Act 7, when Mamoru will ter Usagi his life story. 😀 😀 😀
I’m over a week late, but whatever, Makoto Kino a.k.a. Sailor Jupiter has arrived to Sailor Moon Crystal, and man, it was glorious!
Confession time here: I’m biased towards Jupiter, she’s my favorite Sailor! I love that they captured in this episode everything that makes her so amazing and different. They were able to portray her strong side, a warrior as well as a feminine girl, who loves to make and sew and is in love with the idea of love.
And how is it that Usagi is even more amazing in this new anime than in the first one?! She’s amazing! And not even mention the fact that she has crushes on all her friends: “oh, Ami is so smart” and “Rei is so beautiful” and “Makoto smells so nice!”… really girl, get a grip!
I’m loving it!
The third episode of Sailor Moon Crystal is upon us, and with it, the introduction of Rei Hino, a.k.a, Sailor Mars!
Sailor Mars was my first favorite Senshi (then Sailor Jupiter came along and she was renegated to a second place…), so this episode left me giggling all the way through 🙂 !!!
Now, 3 episodes in, we have all our core Sailors and next week we’ll have the ball =D ! I’m loving the pace of the new anime, and more than anything I’m loving the interactions between Usagi and Mamoru.
Now, how long will we have to wait for Jupiter?!
Woah! Yesterday, not only did we get another episode of Sailor Moon Crystal (Act 2 – Ami / Sailor Mercury), but we also got a full version clip of the opening theme “Moon Pride“, which gives us a deeper look into the Sailors and the Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion.
Watch it below, but be warned that it’s full of spoilers (which are only spoilers if you never saw the anime or read the manga!)…
20 years! I still can’t believe it! And now Sailor Moon is back!!!
I was always a huge Sailor Moon fan, since the moment it started airing in Portugal in 1994. Through the following years, I watched it regularly, going to the point of programing my VHS (yes, those still existed…) to record the anime in the spanish channel while I was at school, because they were like 5 episodes ahead of the portuguese channel… Yeah… I did that! And then I would come home from school and watched them… sometimes more than once. I also collected the trading cards.
A couple of years ago I found the whole anime online (PT version) and binged watched the whole 200 episodes, plus the movies. I also have the whole soundtrack in my iPOD, and I’m not even ashamed of that!
So when I read a while ago (thanks Tumblr) that they were doing a remake, that would follow the manga a little more closely, I was so damn excited. First of all, because it’s so funny, then, it was the first ever anime/cartoons/or any other thing that basically had an all women cast, kicking some ass. I mean, you Tuxedo Mask there but that’s just it!
It’s also the first anime I saw (20 years ago) that was bold enough to portrait several same sex relationships. Yeah, in some countries Haruka and Michiru were “cousins”, but come on… And that wasn’t even the first or only, there was Zoisite and Kunzite, because you know, Zoisite was slightly feminine, but he was definitely a MAN, and that was awesome. And I will not even mention the Sailor Star Fighters, who are all originally female (and in the manga they just crossdress as men).
So, Sailor Moon Crystal is a reboot of sorts of the original series, that will stick closely to the Manga. The story so far isn’t far out from the first episode of the original anime, the design is clearly different, so are the colours and general effects, but the heart and soul is still very much the same. It’s awesome!
I can’t believe I now have to wait until July 19th for the next episode =/ !!!
