Jane the Virgin: Chapter 13

Poor Jane and Rafael… this week they were so excited to get some 3D photos of the baby and find out the sex, then they were totally blindsided by the possibility of something being wrong with the baby…

Jane struggled to make the right decision: do an amnio to find out and risk losing the baby, or do nothing. In the end she decided to do it, because she couldn’t not know (then she changed her mind but it was too late). Rafael continues to surprise! He stood by her side, supported all of her decisions and made sure she felt good about them. Poor guy even slept on the floor by her bed while she was on bed rest… couldn’t he sleep in the bed with her, without anything happening?! She was on bed rest after all… At the end, still not knowing the results, Jane decides she has to let go a bit, and leave some room for surprises and Rafael convinces her to not find out the sex of the baby, for it to be a surprise… oh… I’m pretty sure it’s a boy though!

Michael doesn’t take long to find out all the inconsistencies in Rose’s story and comes to the conclusion that she is, in fact, Sin Rostro!! I’m glad that didn’t take long. But by then it’s too late, Rose is long gone (and blond… what’s up with that?!).

Petra turns down Milos and then karma strikes again… Lachlan kicks her out of the hotel. No problem though, Milos just bought 33% of the hotel and is willing to let her rule, for as long as he can rule by her side. I was a bit disappointed as to how they managed the Petra/Lachlan situation… not enough drama… I thought that maybe he would leave her stranded somewhere, Spain, the desert… whatever… but not in front of the hotel.

Rogelio (finally) gets a job offer, but it would mean that he would have to move to Mexico… I don’t think he’ll do it, I do hope it will finally propel him and Xo to express their feelings. Oh, and Alba has the hots for a gentleman in physical therapy… can’t wait to see what that will lead to…

While reviewing the security camera, Nadine realizes that neither Rose, Emilio nor the Bell Boy were responsible for Zazo’s murder – remember?! The first one?! – And this opens up a new can of worms… then who did it?! As to answer our loud question, Rafael is seen talking to Zazo, but is it Roman?! Or is it his twin Aaron Zazo?! And if it is Roman, then who died impaled by ice?! Ohhhh, so many questions… please tell me that it’s the twin and that Rafael is not a bad guy… I couldn’t stand it (and neither could Jane!)!!!!

Jane the Virgin… just wow!

Jane the Virgin… let’s get real: this is probably my favorite new show! Yeah, you read it. I’m totally loving The Flash as well, but this one, well, it took me completely by surprise, and it’s so different from everything else around it that it just takes the prize.

It’s beyond funny and witty, it has murder, mystery and sex (and a whole lot of “not sex”), and the narrator… OMG… he’s the funniest thing ever. The cast is brilliant and the characters are well rounded and not at all boring, they all have two sides: weather it’s the playboy who had cancer and turned his life around, or the good cop that’s definitely hiding something, or the mother who got pregnant and went against all and had a marvelous baby (and raised her right), or the gay doctor sleeping with her own step-mother, or the grandmother who only speaks spanish, and Jane, obviously, marvelous Jane, who’s a virgin, but not a saint 😉 ! I just love it so much. I spend the 40 minutes laughing and crying, but it’s well worth it.

Congrats to the CW, a network that always produced a “certain” kind of shows, not only is expanding its basis, but might well have the 2 best shows of the year (and not to mention the amazing job they’re still doing on Arrow).
