The Emoji Book Tag

booktag_emoji

Hello. Welcome to another book tag! Trisha Anne @The Bookgasm and Anette @Anette Reads tagged me for the Emoji Book Tag, where you take your five most recent or most used emojis and come up with books that fit the emotion.

Smirking Face

I’m so sorry, I love this emoji, I find it kind of indecent! And when I see it, the first book and couple that comes to my mind is Warner and Juliette from Ignite Me, Tahereh Mafi.

You know why, right? If you’ve read it, then you know. If you haven’t, why?!

Heart Eyes Emoji

This emoji I use a lot, usually in context of ships and so on, but know I’m gonna associate it to a book I read recently that I loved (apart from all the others books featured on this Tag), and that is The One Thing, by Marci Lyn Curtis.

I adored this book! It recently came out, and I need to get my hands on a physical copy.

Smiley Face Emoji

Oh, HAPPY FACE! A book that left a smile on my face, and makes me smile just from thinking about it is Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell.

I loved this book so so much, and I miss it! I’ll need to re-read it soon 😀 !

Bawling Emoji

The most recent book where I cried like crazy was Queen of Shadows, Sarah J. Maas. All kind of tears went on in there: happy, sad, angry, more happy, ecstatic, …, I was an emotional mess for the last 25% of the book.

Totally worth it though!

Pained Face Emoji

Let’s say that this my shocked face, and none better than The Wrath and the Dawn, Renée Ahdieh to fit it.

Why? Because of that ending! It totally took me by surprise and left me a mess of shock and other feelings.

That’s it! This was a fun one! I think a lot of people already did this tag, so I’m gonna go ahead and tag EVERYONE who wants to do it.

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Author Duos

top 10 tuesday

It’s tuesday again! Here we go for another Top Ten Tuesday 😀 , a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is:

Top Ten Author Duos You’d LOVE To See Write A Book Together (aka my (Jamie’s) world would explode if Gayle Forman and Jandy Nelson wrote a book together) — might be hard to come up with 10 but still would be fun! Bonus points if you tell us what kind of book you’d like them to write!

I’m rubbish at this pairing thing, really, I have a hard time thinking about who would go well with who… So, with that in mind, my duos will be purely on these authors interactions on Twitter 😀 , because I’m a sucker for those moments when 2 (or more) of my favorite authors start interaction on twitter! Enjoy!

1. Sarah J. Maas & Victoria Aveyard

Let me start by saying that Victoria Aveyard is a Queen on Twitter. The girl not only tweets a lot, but she tweets with everyone of the authors I like, so I kind “buddy-ship” her with everyone! And Sarah is a Queen herself… so, there’s that!

2. Rainbow Rowell & Jenny Han

How cute would this book be?

3. Tahereh Mafi & Ransom Riggs

I’ve never read anything by Ransom Riggs, I will though, but I haven’t yet. But, he’s married to the fantastic Tahereh Mafi, and she’s awesome, so how cool would be a book by these 2?

4. Renée Ahdieh & Sabaa Tahir

Renée and Sabaa apparently became friends because their books came out around the same time, they go on twitter a lot to promote each other, and that’s amazing. Also, both books are just beyond fantastic, and I would totally read some epic adventures written by the pair of them.

5. Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera

They are friends people! They are actually very close friends! Can they write about Simon being BFF with Aaron?

6. VICTORIA AVEYARD & RENÉE AHDIEH

Have I mentioned that Victoria is a Twitter-Queen? Well, here she is with Renée, so I would like it to happen in book form as well.

7. Sabaa Tahir & Sarah J. Maas

I would like Sarah J. Maas to write with everyone, because she can’t do no wrong. And neither can Sabaa. So, girls, get working!

8. Jasmine Warga & BECKY aLBERTALLI

Again, they are friends! And both their books are fantastic. So Becky and Jasmine?! Hell yeah!

9. aDAM sILVERA & Leigh Bardugo

Now, I haven’t read anything by Leigh Bardugo yet, but these two interactions on twitter are cute enough to make me want this.

10. Sarah J. Maas & Susan Dennard

This is a no-brainer really. I’m not familiar with Susan Dennard’s writing, but she’s Sarah’s BFF – come on, look at them! I know they’re writing something online, and I need to check that out soon.

The Rose & The Dagger: Cover Reveal

coverreveal

Today the cover for The Rose & The Dagger, the sequel to The Wrath & The Dawn by Renée Ahdieh, was revealed (you can find the original article here). The book is set to come out May 3rd, 2016, and I honestly can’t wait. The ending of the first one left me completely heartbroken and I need the sequel… now!

What do you guys think? When I first saw it, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the blue, but now it has grown on me and I think the cover is gorgeous, just like the first one 😀 .

Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Books To Read If You Like Kick-@ss Female Heroines

Hello, it’s Tuesday again, which means it’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday post, a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is:

Ten Books To Read If You Like This Super Popular Book/Author (ie: you could list 10 different popular/bestselling books or authors with readalike suggestions for each or give 10 books for one best-selling/popular book or author like 10 authors to read if you like John Green or ten books to read if you like Gone Girl. Idea is to give good readalikes that may be less well known).

Top Ten Tuesday

I was struggling with this one a lot! I don’t usually make connections between authors or books and i couldn’t come up with anything more than 5 book, no matter which combination I tried. So, after contemplating not doing it this week, I decided to spin it a bit and make it a theme instead of an author or book. So, Ten Books To Read If You Like Kick-@ss Female Heroines! I’m sorry before hand for totally missing the goal of this week’s topic…

1. Throne of Glass Series (Sarah J. Maas)

throne of glass

This series is full of gorgeous, super strong women. Such as Aelin, Nehemia, Lysandra, Manon, …, I love how strong, powerful and human they all are.

2. The Wrath & The Dawn (Renée Ahdieh)

Shahrzad is one of my favorite female character ever. Despina is pretty bad-@ss herself.

3. The One Thing (Marci Lyn Curtis)

Maggie is so strong and sassy! I love the hell out of her.

4. The Infernal Devices (Cassandra Clare)

Tessa Gray, Charlotte Fairchild, Sophie Collins, Cecily Herondale. These four ladies are worth several men!

5. Eleanor & Park (Rainbow Rowell)

Eleanor is a different kind of strong female character. She doesn’t fight or anything, but she managed to survive some awful situations and still manage to live.

6. Harry Potter series (J.K. Rowling)

Hermione Granger is on everyone’s mind when we think of kick-@ss women, right? But I’ll raise you Molly Weasley, Minerva Mcgonagall, Nymphadora Tonks, Luna Lovegood, Ginny Weasley, Alice Longbottom, …

7. A Clash of Kings (George R. R. Martin)

One name for you: Aria Stark. Sure, this series has other female heroines, such as Daenerys, but Aria is my favorite.

8. Memoirs of a Geisha (Arthur Golden)

Chiyo goes through some bad stuff throughout her life…

9. The Hunger Games (Suzanne Collins)

It’s not because Katniss is broken that she stops being freaking amazing.

10. My Heart and Other Black Holes (Jasmine Warga)

I really admire Aysel. Yes, the only thing she wants in the beginning is to end her life, but she goes through a big transformation and goes because of it. She makes my list!

#TackleTBR: Bookish Scavenger Hunt!

Hello people! I’m doing my second challenge for the Tackle your TBR Read-a-thon! Today’s challenge is hosted by Jess @Princessica of Books and it’s an ultimate bookish scavenger hunt.

I’ll give you a set of categories and you scavenge your bookshelves finding books that fit into those categories! Pretty simple and super fun 🙂.

A 2015 Debut Author’s Book!

DSC04754

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard and More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera were two amazing debuts this year.

Books that You Have Read at Least Twice!

DSC04757

I’ve read the Twilight series and the Harry Potter series at least twice… 😉

A Cover-Lust Book (a book that has a beautiful cover)!

DSC04759

I couldn’t really talk about gorgeous covers without including Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi, which is probably the most beautiful cover I own. Other covers that I love are My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

A Book You Always Recommend!

DSC04760

Why haven’t you read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell or Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli? GO read them right NOW! This two books are amazing, and I’m always half-tempted to pick any of them up and re-read them…

Something on Your Bookshelf That is Not a Book!

DSC04761

I love my Hermione wand…

A Book That Has A Kick- Ass Butt Female Protagonist!

DSC04765

The Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas has the amazing Celaena (though I like her new name better… my “Fire-breathing bitch-queen”). Then in The Wrath and The Dawn by Renée Ahdieh there’s the amazing Shazi. And Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is pretty amazing as well.

Top Ten Tuesday: Hot Hot Hot!

Welcome to another Tuesday, which means another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is a FREEBIE! It might sound easy, but nope, not really! lol. After reading a few struggles on twitter about this week’s theme (this is partly your fault Jesse – go check out his post! 😛 ), and still suffering from a huge book hangover due to Ignite Me – where I totally blame the sexy scenes, I decided to make today’s theme: Hot and Steamy Scenes, whether it was a hot steamy kiss, something more or something considerably less… words can go a long way!

Top Ten Tuesday

Fair warning, the passages might be graphic! And there will be SPOILERS! If you are not comfortable with steamy scenes from some YA books, turn away! And if you haven’t read these books and don’t want to know anything, again, turn away!!! You have been warned! 😉

1. Warner & Juliette – Unravel Me

I mentioned above how I’m still suffering from a huge book hangover thanks to Ignite Me, right? Unravel Me is to be blamed as well. How else start this list, if not with the wonderful chapter 62 from Unravel Me? If you read the book, you know what I’m talking about… This WILL NOT be their only entry on this list…

unravelm_2

2. Tamlin & Feyre – A Court of Thorns and Roses

This book is all kinds of hot. There are 3 scenes that I totally needed to fan myself to get over, and I’ll mention 2 of them on this list, but the first one is the hall scene…

acotar_1_

3.  Warner & Juliette – Ignite Me

Let’s be honest, for the last 25% of the book they can’t keep their hands off each other, and it’s cute and hot and OMG…. but that moment!!! WOW! Does Tahereh Mafi know how to write sexy scenes or what?! I’m not going to put the whole scene here, because it’s amazing and you should READ IT! I know it almost by heart now, from the countless times that I read it…

ignitem_

4. Jace & Clary – City of Fallen Angels

Jace and Clary have some pretty steamy throughout the 6 books, a favorite of mine is the one outside the manor, yeah, when they still believe they’re brother and sister… moving on… my second favorite is in City of Fallen Angels, in the alley…

sofa

5. Tessa & Jem – Clockwork Prince

Let’s never ever forget that the first time that Tessa and Jem kissed, they almost slept together. It took Will a lot more to get there 😉 (but then poor Jem had to wait even longer). Still, this scene took my breath away, and I loved every second of it.

Clockwork Prince - Dirty Sexy Bedroom Scene (Cassandra Jean)

cp_1

6. Shazi & Khalid – The Wrath & The Dawn

Shahrzad and Khalid’s first kiss is hot hot hot and epic. I’ll even mention the fact that this is their first truly intimate moment, even after they had slept together twice. It’s so so beautiful!

twatd_

7. TAMLIN & FEYRE – A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES

Ok, so as I said before, Tamlin and Feyre have some hot scenes on this book, but the actual sex scene actually made me blush so much that I was truly aware that it shouldn’t be read on the train…

acotar_2

8. Laia & Elias – An Ember in the Ashes

I’ve said it before, I love Laia and Elias together, and I can’t wait for the next book, when they definitely have to spend some more time in each other’s company… Still, the one time they were all alone, it was pretty hot, right?

aeita_1

9. Will & Tessa – Clockwork Prince

Clockwork Prince was a busy book for Tessa! She rolled around in bed with Jem, and then had a very steamy make out session with Will, on the Lightwood’s balcony in the middle of a party, under the effect of some mood altering drugs… it was still a pretty great scene!

cp_2

10. Magnus & Alec – The Course of True Love (and First Dates)

There are so many damn couples in the Shadowhunter’s world, that it’s hard to move away from it. I love Magnus and Alec, they’re my favorite couple in The Mortal Instruments, and their first date is just hilarious! But it’s also super sweet and you should totally read it, if you haven’t already. (I mean, Alec falls down the stairs…)

bc_am

Special Mention – Tessa & Jem  – After the Bridge

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention this story, first because it’s Jem and Tessa, secondly, because the whole story is pretty hot, steamy and emotional. Have you read After the Bridge? If not, you can find it here. Let’s just say that while Will always had the fame, Jem was a complete surprise…

Zombie Apocalypse Book Tag

zombieap_booktag

Hello, welcome to another Book Tag. I saw this a while back in Casey’s blog, @Inspired By The Page, and she was kind enough to tag me in the comment section.

Here are the rules

  1. Pick any five books randomly (or not randomly, your choice).
  2. The first name you see when you flip open the book on a random page, will be the person who is the answer to the question.
  3. Each book must answer two questions.

heartdivider_

Given that I have limited choices of books with me – most of my read books are back in Portugal,  these were the chosen ones:

zombie tag

#1: The first person to die?

Ignite Me – KenjiKenji

No, no, no, no… Kenji would never be the first person to die, no way, he has mad skills and he can become invisible. Given that Zombies are not exactly known for their brains (no pun intended), they wouldn’t be able to find him. So, no way that Kenji would go down first.

#2: The person you trip to get away from the zombies?

LukeCity of Ashes – Luke

Again, there’s no way I would such a thing to Luke… I love Luke to death, he’s one of my favorite characters from this series, so there’s no way that I would trip him. He WOULD totally sacrifice himself though…

#3: The first person to turn into a zombie?

peterkP.S. I Still Love You – Peter K.

Hmmmm, I guess I could see that… Poor Peter, he wouldn’t deserve it though.

#4: The person that trips YOU to get away from the zombies?

Heir of Fire – Chaol

I don’t think so… unless it was between me and Dorian, I don’t see Chaol doing that, I might not ship him with Aelin, but he’s a good guy.

#5: The idiot of the team?

shaziThe Wrath and The Dawn – Shahrzad

Well, NO! If there’s one thing that this girl is not, is idiot… I mean, she managed what so many didn’t… so, nop. (this game is not being very accurate…)

#6: The “brains” of the team?

warnerIgnite Me – Warner

Wow, finally something I can get on board with. Of course Warner would be the brains, he’s pretty damn smart and with a tactic and military kind of mind… yep, nailed this one!

#7: The team’s medic?

JaceCity of Ashes – Jace

LOL! Hmmm, I’m having such a hard time picturing this one, Jace a medic? No way! Unless the patient was Clary, I don’t see him bandaging anyone. He’s not even the best at drawing Izrates…

#8: The weapons expert?

P.S. I Still Love You – Margot

LLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOLLLLLLLLLL!!!! I’m sorry, can she trade places with Jace? Because that would be more accurate and believable.

#9: The brawler?

Heir of Fire – Manon

Yep, yep, yep! I can see this. Totally! Manon likes her fights, and she likes to win.

#10: The Team Captain?

tariqThe Wrath and The Dawn – Tariq

I will admit, that I opened the book randomly 5 times to see if ANY other name popped up instead of Tariq, but all the freaking times, his freaking name come out. How is it even possible? Tariq would be a lousy Team Captain. He’s too focused on his own personal needs to think of what’s best for the “team” (and by team, I totally mean Shazi!)

To sum it all up…

  • First to die: Kenji
  • Person I trip: Luke
  • First to turn into a zombie: Peter K.
  • Person who trips me: Chaol
  • The idiot: Shahrzad
  • The brains: Warner
  • The medic: Jace
  • The weapons expert: Margot
  • The brawler: Manon
  • The captain: Tariq

Most of these were misses, but it sure was fun! Consider yourself tagged if you want to do this one 😀

August Book Haul

How has August came to an end already?! o_O This month went by way too fast… WOW! So, once again, welcome back to my August Book Haul.

August_book_haul

This month I bought very few books. I was amazed at myself really! But I ended up hauling a lot of them, mostly e-books, given that this was my first month in NetGalley and Edelweiss… So, without further ado, I present the physical books I got this month.

abh

Funny haul, ah? I bought 3 traveling books for my upcoming trip to Seoul and Japan in October. The first two are for my mom’s collection – we always buy these and in truth, we just open them on the plane… Then I got A Geek in Japan, because I so fell in love with the concept of this book, and I’m a geek and I’ll be in Japan!

Then I got the amazing The Wrath and The Dawn by Renée Ahdieh and after reading Shatter Me, I couldn’t resist and bought the novellas, Unite Me by Tahereh Mafi, and I already read Destroy Me.

I also got the amazing audiobook of You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost) by Felicia Day.

Now the longer part… eBooks! I got my kindle on the first week of August, but I bought a few books even before I got it. The firsts (and so far only) books that I bought for my Kindle were: The Outlander Series 7-Book Bundle – Outlander, Dragonfly in Amber, Voyager, Drums of Autumn, The Fiery Cross, A Breath of Snow and Ashes and An Echo in the Bone. I want to get to this series eventually, but honestly I bought it because the price was too good to pass up… a little over 2$ for 7 HUGE books! It was a true steal, and I’m super happy about this buy.

Then I accumulated a few books from NetGalley, Blogging for Books and Edelweiss:

august_bh

And that’s it for my August Book Haul! I’ll be doing my wrap-up tomorrow (probably) and my September TBR on Tuesday 😉 .

The Wrath and The Dawn (Renée Ahdieh)

One Life to One Dawn.

In a land ruled by a murderous boy-king, each dawn brings heartache to a new family. Khalid, the eighteen-year-old Caliph of Khorasan, is a monster. Each night he takes a new bride only to have a silk cord wrapped around her throat come morning. When sixteen-year-old Shahrzad’s dearest friend falls victim to Khalid, Shahrzad vows vengeance and volunteers to be his next bride. Shahrzad is determined not only to stay alive, but to end the caliph’s reign of terror once and for all.

Night after night, Shahrzad beguiles Khalid, weaving stories that enchant, ensuring her survival, though she knows each dawn could be her last. But something she never expected begins to happen: Khalid is nothing like what she’d imagined him to be. This monster is a boy with a tormented heart. Incredibly, Shahrzad finds herself falling in love. How is this possible? It’s an unforgivable betrayal. Still, Shahrzad has come to understand all is not as it seems in this palace of marble and stone. She resolves to uncover whatever secrets lurk and, despite her love, be ready to take Khalid’s life as retribution for the many lives he’s stolen. Can their love survive this world of stories and secrets?

Inspired by A Thousand and One Nights, The Wrath and the Dawn is a sumptuous and enthralling read from beginning to end.

This book will be stuck in my head for quite sometime, and it should, because it’s beautiful and wonderful.

First off, Renée Ahdieh has such a way of writing that it is almost poetic… the way she uses words… wow, I fell in love with the writing before I even fell in love with the story. I will, from now on, buy and read everything that she writes!

The first few pages were a bit of a torture to get through though and it had to do with the terms I was not familiar with, and those weird long names (some, I still don’t know how to pronounce… I’m looking at you Shazi!). But then I decided to stop pretending that I could enunciate the names anyway, and the rest of the book just flew by. On that note, be aware that there’s a glossary at the end of the book, so you don’t have to wonder for 90% of the book (like I did) what effendi, delam, jan, jonnam, mankalah, qamis, rida’, sayyidi, shamla, …, means. Most of the word’s meanings I got pretty fast due to context, but others are harder, so check that glossary.

twatd_4

Now onto the characters… Shahrzad is now one of my favorite female characters ever! She’s so fierce and determined, brash, stubborn… she knows what she wants, and she doesn’t play, she wins!

twatd_0

From the epilogue we know that what happens to the Caliph’s wives is not really because he’s a monster, so when Khalid is actually there, it’s impossible to hate him. More, the more the book advances and we get more glimpses into his real self, the more I loved him. But I think that what I love most about him is the fact that he sees an equal in Shahrzad and he doesn’t underestimate her, not even for a moment. He knows what she’s capable off, he respects her for it, and loves her even more.

twatd_5

Let’s just say that that scene in the room, with the dagger and the kneeling, almost killed me…

I loved Despina, seriously, she’s amazing. I loved that she called Shazi “Brat-Calipha”, this girl has balls! I also loved Jalal, Khalid’s cousin, the way he protects both his cousin and Shazi, and the relationship he develops with her… amazing, when he calls her delam (my heart) towards the end, I was smiling at myself, because he loves her just like he loves his cousin, she’s family.

Right at the beginning I was really enjoying Tariq and Rahim, I liked their banter and they both seemed like fun. But then Tariq started to get a bit on my nerves, he’s not a bad person, but he needs a reality check… NOW!

I thought the plot was well constructed and I didn’t find it slow at all. The romance itself, yes, slow, deliberate, they truly fall for each other, step by step, and honestly it’s magnificent. I need them together, always, because they are better together!

twatd_3

There will be SPOILERS now…

Now some final considerations. That ending broke me, it left me completely heartbroken… I just wanted and needed one more chapter, a few lines from Shazi to know that she wants and is trying to get back to him. I can’t wait a year to know that, it’s torture.

I have a feeling that Shazi’s father will be the greatest villain in the upcoming books, his callous use of magic will bring all sort of problems, considering that he’s already seeing himself as a king. Ultimately I think he’ll have to die, and the only way that I can see it happen is if Shazi does it – because Khalid would never forgive himself if he has to do it.

People, I need Despina and Jalal and their baby together and happy. Like, now! Seriously, I ship them HARD! Jalal and Despina are great alone, but I need them together, it can only be more greatness.

Tariq’s uncle… WTF?! I knew he would use Tariq’s information about Shazi and Khalid, but I didn’t think he would be willing to kill his daughter’s best friend.

I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book…

One last thing… all those descriptions of food left me so hungry! I wanted to jump into the book and start eating everything that Shazi was describing.

Top Ten Tuesday: Perfect Male Specimens 101

It’s Tuesday again! Where is the time going?! o_O … So it means, it’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday, and today’s theme is: Top Ten Books That Would Be On Your Syllabus If You Taught X 101. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

Top Ten Tuesday

I have to admit that I was a bit at a lost here, I had no idea what to write about, but luckily Kat @Life and Other Disasters, gave me a fantastic idea, she said “Or books that have the perfect fictional crush in them.” and I LOVED IT! With that in mind, welcome to my Top Ten Books with Perfect Male Specimens 101.

1. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

By now it comes to no surprise to anyone, but I have a huge crush on James Carstairs. But these books have multiple sources of perfect (or close to it) male specimens, being Will Herondale a perfect example of a man who makes most of the book community swoon (am I right?). Other perfectly good example, for me, of a swoon-worthy man in this series is Gideon Lightwood (the scones under the bed… wow). Between Jem, Will and Gideon, a lot of crushable guys here.

2. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Levi is as crush-worthy as they come. I couldn’t stop myself from loving the hell out of him in Fangirl, even when he kind of messes up, because his character feels so real and so absolutely perfect. He always sees the bright side of things and people, he’s always happy, and the poor guy can’t stay away from the girl he loves for one single day… wow.

3. A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

77493_originalWe (all of us who have read Sarah J. Maas books) can all agree that she’s a master at creating men, especially Fae hunks. Now, all the 3 main males from this book are pretty swoon-worthy, and I’m not even mentioning how gorgeous and hot they are, but I’m super partial to Tamlin…

Poor Tamlin, who has forgotten how to flirt, who thinks that “your hair is clean” is enough for… something… oh, but he learns! Soon it’s all “let’s go for a swim” “dance for me” and all those other stuff, so yeah, pretty crushable (especially from all of Feyre’s accounts of their intimate moments).

Then we have Lucien (the red hair kills me), who left his family and all he had for his love. WOW! And then Rhysand, the most beautiful man that Feyre has even seen – and she lives with Tamlin and Lucien. Rhys is kind of amazing and full of potential, I just want to see more of him.

4. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

Romance is never the main plot of this book, but the perfectness that is Elias is hard to ignore. This guy, who has trained to be a ruthless killer for years on end, has so much more to him… he’s kind, compassionate, he doesn’t want to kill, or fight, he just wants to be free. He’s attracted to his BFF but doesn’t act on it because he doesn’t want things to be weird and he doesn’t want to lose her. He helps a slave (and something more than help…)… The whole time I was reading about him, I couldn’t help but sigh and swoon.

5. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

It will be weird if you haven’t read this book before, so you really need to take this class seriously and read it, only then will you understand why a guy who has all his wives murdered at dawn can be so perfect and honestly, one of the most perfect male specimen that I found in any kind of books.

But trust me, Khalid is perfect, truly perfect! Again, once you ignore the fact that all his brides die. But the relationship he has with Shazi, and the kind of love he has for her, is seriously relationship goal.

6. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and PS I Still Love You by Jenny Han

One name people, Peter K.! This guy is seriously swoon worthy – I feel kind of weird saying this because he’s definitely way too young for me. But he’s so sweet and he cares so much, that it’s impossible not to fall a bit in love with him while reading these books.

7. Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas

Remember when I said in point 3 how amazing Sarah J. Maas is at creating fictional men? It doesn’t end there. Throne of Glass is full of amazing men, all of them are pretty hot and pretty great. I’m a bit more partial to Dorian (prince, fights for what he loves, etc) and Rowan (200 years suffering for a lost love), but you might like Chaol better and that’s totally ok, because he’s pretty amazing as well. Or maybe Aedion?! I know Aedion rocks my boat, but that’s just me… Not even going to mention Sam, because I haven’t read The Assassin’s Blade yet.

8. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Come on, a list of books with perfect men, you couldn’t really expect that I wouldn’t include the one fictional character that has been driving women crazy for more than 100 years, right?! Oh Yeah, the one and only, Mr. Darcy! I don’t think I need to explain this one…

9. Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

I just find Lincoln pretty perfect, because I relate so much to him. The way he loves is so full and complete…

And I think Christine and Beth say it best:

“Every woman wants a man who’ll fall in love with her soul as well as her body.”

“I didn’t know someone could love me like this,” she said. “Could love me and love me and love without…needing space.”

10. The One Thing by Marci Lyn Curtis

Mason Milton, people! Read this book, for real, as soon as it is out. It’s so worth it!
