Book Traveling Thursdays: A Great Conclusion!

btt

Hello, welcome back to another Book Traveling 168709Thursdays, which a weekly meme created by Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @Danielle’s Book Blog. The goal is to share the covers of a book related to that week’s theme, which you can see at the Goodreads group, indicating the original cover, the one of your country, your favorite and least favorite.

This week’s theme is “Everything has an end! Choose your favorite conclusion to a series“. I was going with the obvious and say Clockwork Princess, but then I reconsidered and I’m going with Ignite Me instead, because I loved this book and it gave me a huge book hangover 😀 .

Original COver:

This is without a doubt my favorite cover of this book, and definitly one of my favorite covers EVER. I love everything about it.

COVER FROM MY COUNTRY (PORTUGAL) & COVER FROM THE COUNTRY I LIVE IN (SPAIN):

Portugal doesn’t have a cover yet, and it will maybe never have. But the spanish edition just came out a couple of months ago, and it looks like this. I personally don’t like it, but it’s not the worst cover either.

Favorite COVER(s):

The original US and UK cover is definitly my fave 😀 .

LEAST FAVORITE COVER(s):

My least favorite covers are the Australian, Czech, Turkish and German editions. Do I need to explain any of them?!

The Book Love Tag

lovetag

Hello guys! Today I’m doing a Valentine’s themed book tag created by Anette @Anette Reads, who was super cool to tag me. If you haven’t checked out her blog yet, I suggest that you do it ;-). Ok, let’s do The Book Love Tag!

1. Your favorite book couple.

THIS.IS.SO.HARD!!!!

I have too many! I’m going to go with Warner and Juliette from the Shatter Me trilogy. Ignite Me was perfection for me just because of these two <3!!!

2. Your top 3 book boy/girlfriends.

▫ Jem Carstairs (The Infernal Devices) – Jem was the first!

▫ Rowan Whitethorne (Throne of Glass series) – Made the list as soon as he appeared in Heir of Fire :D.

▫ Garrett Graham (The Deal) – This is a recent one… but what can I say? 😍😍😍

3. Imagine your favorite book couple. Who would propose, and how? (If there’s already been a proposal: who would be more into organizing the wedding?)

Back to Warnette then… ok Warner would totally propose – I’m not sure that Juliette even understands the concept fully. In my mind, he has had the ring for ages, but instead of doing it “right”, he would just blurt it out, in the most awkward and incoherent way possibly, probably during or after sex (because they spend most of their time in bed anyway). That’s how I imagine it :D. It would be cute as hell though, because it’s Warner, and Juliette is everything to him.

4. Unpopular opinions time! Name a popular pairing you can’t stand.

Oh, wow. I don’t think I have an answer for this one… how about I tell you a couple that I do like, but not as much as 99% of the people do? Will that work? Ok then… Celaena and Sam Cortland. I loved them together, sure, but I don’t think they were right for each other at all. That’s why I’m kind of glad that he died… =/

5. What’s your favorite and least favorite romance trope?

Oh my gosh… I have so many favorites!!! I’m a sucker for enemies turned lovers though, and if there’s a step in the middle where they are super friends, all the better. Wallbanger and The Deal do this so good! That’s probably why I loved both books so much :D.

My least favorite is probably insta-love. It’s not that I don’t like it, if done well, it can totally work, because people are attracted to each other at first sight. But more often than not is not done very well :(.

6. Do you ship non-canon couples often? Name some if you do.

I usually don’t. I’ve a very canon type of girl :D. I did ship Haymitch and Effie on The Hunger Games trilogy, so I was super glad that one particular scene was added to Mockingjay pt 2. I was also shipping Rowaelin when they were still claiming to be friends and nothing more, but I was so sure that it would evolve :D.

7. Your opinion on love triangles. Go!

Love triangles… hmmmm…. if done right, I love them! The problem for me is when it’s so obvious that one of the members is just a filler.

8. Favorite and least favorite love triangle?

My absolutely favorite, obviously, is Will/Tessa/Jem triangle of The Infernal Devices. I love it! It’s so well done, because both guys are equally deserving, and you totally understand what she sees in each of them. Better yet, Jem and Will love each other, they love each other so much that they’re more than willing to step aside to let the other one be happy. ❤ I love them!

jem_will_tessa

Least favorite… hmmmm…. The Hunger Games? What was even that? Why was Gale even considered a love interest?

9. Sometimes romance just isn’t the way to go. Favorite friendship?

I’m going to redirect you to a post I did last week about Boys/Girls platonic friendships in books, ok? Here it is. Juliette and Kenji from the Shatter Me trilogy are probably my faves though :D.

10. What’s your favorite scene with your bookish OTP?

Chapter 62 of Unravel Me… not saying anything else!

11. Imagine your favorite book couple again. Who’s most excited about Valentine’s Day (either ironically or genuinely)?

Oh, does Valentine’s Day still exist after everything that went on? Ok then. I would say that Warner is probably more excited about it, he likes to surprise and do things for Juliette, so I think that would definitly have something very special prepared for her.

Bookish BFFs: Girls and Boys Can Be Just Friends!

book_bffs

We’re fast approaching Valentine’s day, and I’ve pledged that this month I’ll only read Romances (and it’s going great so far – 3 down!). But a couple of days ago was Friends’ Day, did you know that? Yep. So it got me thinking about something I really love to read in books: strictly platonic boy-girl BFFs. Oh, don’t get me wrong, one of my favorite type of romance to read is BFFs turned something more, but I do love when a book shows that a girl and a boy can be friends and nothing more. Here are some of my favorites.

1. Juliette and Kenji – Shatter Me Trilogy

I absolutely love Kenji and Juliette’s dynamic. They go to strangers to best friends in no time, because they connect really well together. And although Kenji throws some flirtation around – because it’s Kenji and he just can’t help it – there’s never a moment where it seems like their relation might go that way. Instead, they truly become BFFs, with Juliette using her BFF as a relationship advisor and all.

(source)

2. Cinder and ThorneThe Lunar Chronicles

Their relationship warms my heart! I just love how much they fight and banter and everything, but at the end of the day, they trust each other completely and would do just about anything for one another.

(source)

3. Harry and Hermione – Harry Potter

This is goals! Never while reading the 7 books, did I ever doubt that this was a strictly platonic friendship. NEVER! Harry and Hermione are BFFs and that’s it. Yes, I’m aware that a while back J.K. Rowling said that Hermione should have ended up with Harry, but I’m gonna forget she ever said that, because Hermione always belonged with Ron.

(source)

4. Simon and Penny – Carry On

Oh, they are beyond perfect! I love their friendship. Early in the book, Simon explain how he and Penny are just friends and they never felt more than that, and how some people thought it was weird… yeah, see point nº 3!

(source)

5. Maggie and Ben – The One Thing

Even though Ben is several years younger than Maggie, their friendship is beautiful and one of the many reasons you should read The One Thing by Marci Lyn Curtis. I wish I had a Ben in my life…

So, tell me. Do you like to read about awesome friendships between boys and girls that doesn’t lead anywhere else? What’s your favorite?

Top Ten Tuesday: Bookish Things That I’m Thankful For

top 10 tuesday

Hello, welcome back to another Tuesday. Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is:

Thanksgiving themed Freebie — ten books I’m thankful for, authors I’m thankful for, Ten fictional families I’d like to celebrate Thanksgiving with, a personal non-bookish thankful list, etc. etc.

So, today I’ll share some books, series and other bookish things that I’ve read this year and that I’m Very Thankful For, ok?

1. Shatter Me Series (Tahereh Mafi)

This series kind of opened my eyes in terms of amazingly different writing skills and made me appreciate a whole lot more. Then there’s also the thing that I really loved the story and, mostly, I loved Warner and Juliette. The me that had only read the first book would be disgusted by that statement!

2. Becky Albertalli & Jasmine Warga & Adam Silvera

For introducing me to some amazing diverse books. I was never frantic reader before, so I really didn’t know what I was really missing…

3. ACOTAR & Throne of Glass Series (Sarah J. Maas)

Sarah J. Maas is a genious!! I’m so glad that I started to read these two series, that I absolutely love. She’s a genius, I tell you!!!

4. Penryn & the End of Days Trilogy (Susan Ee)

I just love this trilogy SO SO MUCH!!! I’m so grateful that Josie “made me” read it, because I’m hooked on it. I would like like 100 more books about Penryn, Raffe and the Watchers, PLEASE!!!

5. New Adult books

This is a new thing for me, kind of. I had read romances and Young Adult contemporaries, but in-between of these two genres is something that appeals to me. I like the problems they face, because university and so on is my day to day, and the romances are always super hot (even if the books don’t have that much more to it). More than anything, these books are a great way to pass the time, and mostly easy and fast reads.

6. Netgalley and eARCs

Netgalley has been a blessing, truly. Not only does it provide me most of my New Adult romances, but it has introduced me to some amazing authors and some of my favorite reads of this year – case and point: The One Thing by Marci Lyn Curtis and Your Voice is All I Hear by Leah Scheier .

7. Fangirl & Attachments & basically anything Rainbow Rowell

Rainbow Rowell “gets me”, so each time I read one of her books, I find myself in it, even if just one tiny bit. So I’m so thankful that I bought Fangirl back in February when I went to London, and proceeded to read anything else she wrote.

8. The blogging community

I’m sure I’ve said this a few times, but you guys are all amazing! This community is truly great and I feel kind of blessed for being part of it.

9. My Aelin (that’s my kindle, if you still haven’t figured that out)

I was one of those persons that was adamant that I would never own an eReader. Then I found out that Netgalley existed, and given that I’m an international blogger, that was my only way to snag some ARCs. So, I gave in and bought a kindle for my birthday… and OMFG, I love it so much!!! I have to say that I actually miss it when I’m reading physical copies, and it’s weird, but my Aelin allows me to highlight stuff, and search for quotes, and jump chapters,…, it’s amazing.

10. The pleasure of a good non-fiction

I usually don’t like non-fiction books… at all. I have to read enough scientific papers to cover that part of my life, and I read enough college manuals during my 5 years of undergrad to last me a lifetime. But this year I read, or better yet, I listened to 2 amazing nonfiction books that changed a bit my standing on the genre.

The Ben ‘n’ Jerry’s Book Tag

benjerry_booktag

Hello guys! Today I bring you a new book tag, the Ben ‘n’ Jerry’s Book Tag, created by Aimal @Bookshelves & Paperbacks, and she was kind enough to nominate me to do this – thank you so much Aimal. So, here we go…

1. Vanilla Caramel Fudge: pick a light, fluffy contemporary

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han is the definition of light, fluffy contemporary. And it’s so good!!!

2. Mint Chocolate Cookie: a new release that you wish everybody would read

I feel like I’ve been saying this a lot lately, but the answer has to be The One Thing (Marci Lyn Curtis). If you haven’t read this book, I ask you: what the hell are you waiting for?

3. Karamel Sutra Core: a last book in a series that you were completely satisfied with

I was super satisfied with the ending of The Infernal Devices. Clockwork Princess was an amazing book, and even though I wouldn’t have minded to have another 10 books about Jem, Tessa and Will, I was happy with the resolution and about knowing that it wasn’t the last time I would be reading about any of them.

4. Cherry Garcia: an ending that was bittersweet

So many books have bittersweet endings… but today, I’ll go with Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. I loved the ending, but I’ll admit that I would like to know if they ever find their way to one another again.

5. Strawberry Shortcake: a book containing your OTP of OTPs

I have too many OTPs to count (actually, I’m thinking about making a list of them, what do you guys think?). Either way, like I was saying, too many to count, but I’ll drop my most recent favorite obsession, and that is Penryn and Raffe from the Penryn & the End of Days trilogy. Guys, the last book is killing me!!!

6. Milk and Cookies: two authors that if they collaborated, they would go perfectly together

I’ll redirect you to a recent Top Ten Tuesday post, because I think that any pairing I put in there would be pretty perfect! – Go HERE!!!

7. Boston Cream Pie: a book that had you turning your pages late into the night

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. I went to sleep when the sun was coming up, it was a wild ride and totally worth it, because this book… wow… wow!!!! Not only did it keep me up all night, it also gave me the biggest book hangover I ever had! It was days before I could stop myself going through its pages re-reading certain chapters… To be honest, it only stopped because the book went to Portugal.

8. Chocolate Therapy: a book that makes you feel better after a long day of life

I’ll go with You’re Never Weird on the Internet (Almost), Felicia Day’s memoir, because this book made me laugh and smile and cry, but it also made me feel less alone. She’s brilliant and I highly recommend this book.

9. Coffee, Coffee, Buzzbuzzbuzz!: a book not yet released that you can’t wait to get your hands on

There are MANY books coming out that I need right now, but most of all I need The Rose and the Dagger the sequel to The Wrath and the Dawnby Renee Ahdieh, because of that ending. That ending tore me apart!!! I need to know that Khalid is Ok, that Shazi is OK, that Shazi is going back, what she’ll do with her magic, how they’re going to break the curse, …, and I need to see Despina and Jalal actually talking. So yeah… I need it!

I Tag:

The Disney Book Tag

booktag_disney

Hello fellow bloggers. I was nominated to do The Disney Book Tag by the wonderful Summer @XingSings (thank you so so much!) – I’m not even going to tell you to go follow her, because unless you’ve been book blogging for an hour, you’re bound to have found her already and clicked that “follow” button, am I right? I love Disney, so I’m sure gonna love doing this tag.

1. The Little Mermaid – A character that is out of their element, a “Fish out of Water”.

OMG, I just finished this book, so I’m gonna rave a bit about it: Ana from The Improbable Theory of Ana & Zak (Brian Katcher). – If you haven’t read this book, go pick it up right now! It’s fun and hilarious 😀 . So, poor Ana is literally a fish out of water when she is thrown into a comic book/sci-fi convention, with the King of said con, in the hopes of finding her little brother. A lot happens!!! 😀

2. Cinderella – A character that goes through a major transformation.

Juliette from the Shatter Me trilogy (Tahereh Mafi) comes to mind. She’s so lost and scared in the beginning of the first book and then by the third she’s totally comfortable in her own skin.

(Juliette fan art source)

3. Snow White – A book with an eclectic cast of characters.

I’m going to go with something totally different for this answer… the cast of An Infinite Number of Parallel Universes by Randy Ribay is super diverse and surprising.

I was super pleasantly surprised by the amount of diversity in this book 🙂 .

4. Sleeping Beauty – A book that put you to sleep.

Ok, it’s not really that this book put me to sleep, it’s more that it was so boring for some parts that I wanted to put it down… A Whole New World: A Twisted Tale by Liz Braswell… =/

5. The Lion King – A character that had something traumatic happen to them in their childhood.

Cinder from Cinder (Marissa Meyer) had something VERY traumatic happen to her in her childhood, so much so that she doesn’t even remember it.

(Cinder fan art source)

6. Beauty and the Beast – A beast of a book (a big book) that you were intimidated by, but found the story to be beautiful.

I was so intimidated by An Ember in the Ashes (Sabaa Tahir) when I got it, I don’t even know why, the book is not even 500 pages, but I have the hardcover edition and that book is huge compared to most of my paperbacks.

7. Aladdin – A character that GETS their wish granted, for better or for worse.

Maggie from The One Thing (Marci Lyn Curtis). All she wants is to see again, and she manages that, even if it’s for the worst possible reason…

8. Mulan – A character that pretends to be something or someone they are not.

I think everyone answers this, but here it goes… Mare from Red Queen (Victoria Aveyard). But to give an alternate answer, I’m going with Dahlia Moss, from The Unfortunate Decisions of Dahlia Moss by Max Wirestone 😀 .

9. Toy Story – A book with characters you wish would come to life.

tumblr_nvayytSgPl1r80kcoo1_500I’m gonna go for the obvious one here and say Queen of Shadows (Sarah J. Maas), because I would really like if Rowan, Aelin, Aedion, Dorian, Lysandra, etc, were real. I’m fairly certain that Aelin would not let me live for too long, because I would be unabashedly staring at her Fae Prince and her half-fae cousin.

10. Disney Descendants – Your favourite villain or morally ambiguous character.

Ok, I’m gonna drop a highly hated character here… I hate him too, I really do, but I honestly feel like he’s a great character and I think he’s more morally ambiguous than most characters that I could have said – because he never gets to turn around or anything like that. He’s BAD! Arobynn Hamel!

And it’s done! Have you done this tag? No? Do you want to? Consider yourself tagged! 😉

Top Ten Tuesday: Hot Hot Hot!

Welcome to another Tuesday, which means another Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s theme is a FREEBIE! It might sound easy, but nope, not really! lol. After reading a few struggles on twitter about this week’s theme (this is partly your fault Jesse – go check out his post! 😛 ), and still suffering from a huge book hangover due to Ignite Me – where I totally blame the sexy scenes, I decided to make today’s theme: Hot and Steamy Scenes, whether it was a hot steamy kiss, something more or something considerably less… words can go a long way!

Top Ten Tuesday

Fair warning, the passages might be graphic! And there will be SPOILERS! If you are not comfortable with steamy scenes from some YA books, turn away! And if you haven’t read these books and don’t want to know anything, again, turn away!!! You have been warned! 😉

1. Warner & Juliette – Unravel Me

I mentioned above how I’m still suffering from a huge book hangover thanks to Ignite Me, right? Unravel Me is to be blamed as well. How else start this list, if not with the wonderful chapter 62 from Unravel Me? If you read the book, you know what I’m talking about… This WILL NOT be their only entry on this list…

tumblr_mhuqlgP5FE1qdtsbho2_250unravelm_1

unravelm_2

2. Tamlin & Feyre – A Court of Thorns and Roses

This book is all kinds of hot. There are 3 scenes that I totally needed to fan myself to get over, and I’ll mention 2 of them on this list, but the first one is the hall scene…

acotar_1_

3.  Warner & Juliette – Ignite Me

Let’s be honest, for the last 25% of the book they can’t keep their hands off each other, and it’s cute and hot and OMG…. but that moment!!! WOW! Does Tahereh Mafi know how to write sexy scenes or what?! I’m not going to put the whole scene here, because it’s amazing and you should READ IT! I know it almost by heart now, from the countless times that I read it…

ignitem_

4. Jace & Clary – City of Fallen Angels

Jace and Clary have some pretty steamy throughout the 6 books, a favorite of mine is the one outside the manor, yeah, when they still believe they’re brother and sister… moving on… my second favorite is in City of Fallen Angels, in the alley…

sofa

5. Tessa & Jem – Clockwork Prince

Let’s never ever forget that the first time that Tessa and Jem kissed, they almost slept together. It took Will a lot more to get there 😉 (but then poor Jem had to wait even longer). Still, this scene took my breath away, and I loved every second of it.

Clockwork Prince - Dirty Sexy Bedroom Scene (Cassandra Jean)

cp_1

6. Shazi & Khalid – The Wrath & The Dawn

Shahrzad and Khalid’s first kiss is hot hot hot and epic. I’ll even mention the fact that this is their first truly intimate moment, even after they had slept together twice. It’s so so beautiful!

twatd_

7. TAMLIN & FEYRE – A COURT OF THORNS AND ROSES

Ok, so as I said before, Tamlin and Feyre have some hot scenes on this book, but the actual sex scene actually made me blush so much that I was truly aware that it shouldn’t be read on the train…

acotar_2

8. Laia & Elias – An Ember in the Ashes

I’ve said it before, I love Laia and Elias together, and I can’t wait for the next book, when they definitely have to spend some more time in each other’s company… Still, the one time they were all alone, it was pretty hot, right?

aeita_1

9. Will & Tessa – Clockwork Prince

Clockwork Prince was a busy book for Tessa! She rolled around in bed with Jem, and then had a very steamy make out session with Will, on the Lightwood’s balcony in the middle of a party, under the effect of some mood altering drugs… it was still a pretty great scene!

cp_2

10. Magnus & Alec – The Course of True Love (and First Dates)

There are so many damn couples in the Shadowhunter’s world, that it’s hard to move away from it. I love Magnus and Alec, they’re my favorite couple in The Mortal Instruments, and their first date is just hilarious! But it’s also super sweet and you should totally read it, if you haven’t already. (I mean, Alec falls down the stairs…)

bc_am

Special Mention – Tessa & Jem  – After the Bridge

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention this story, first because it’s Jem and Tessa, secondly, because the whole story is pretty hot, steamy and emotional. Have you read After the Bridge? If not, you can find it here. Let’s just say that while Will always had the fame, Jem was a complete surprise…

Ignite Me (Tahereh Mafi)

>>>>  Nº32 on My 2015 Reading Challenge – A Trilogy #3  <<<<

The heart-stopping conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series, which Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, called “a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love.”

With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn’t know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won’t keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner, the handsome commander of Sector 45. The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world . . . but that’s not all he wants with her.

The Shatter Me series is perfect for fans who crave action-packed young adult novels with tantalizing romance like Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Legend by Marie Lu. Tahereh Mafi has created a captivating and original story that combines the best of dystopian and paranormal, and was praised by Publishers Weekly as “a gripping read from an author who’s not afraid to take risks.” Now this final book brings the series to a shocking and satisfying end.

*** Warning, there will be lots of SPOILERS ***

I am obsessed with this book! I started it on Thursday night (actually it was friday already, around midnight or something), thinking I would read a couple of chapters and head on to bed… yeah, that didn’t work out. I stayed up until 6 a.m. reading it and only stopped because I was conscious that I needed to get some sleep before sunrise – by this time I was also fully aware that there was no way I was going into work in the morning. I finished it as soon as I woke up on Friday… and then I re-read a few chapters… several times during the whole weekend.

igniteme_1

So as you might have figured it out by now, I absolutely loved this book, it’s definitely my favorite of the series and I don’t understand why it isn’t longer, because I needed more of it. I have so many questions, and I don’t understand why this is only a trilogy, because I could have had more (or at least some more novellas to keep me tight up).

Warner + Juliette

Have I mentioned before how much I love Warner? Yes? No? Oh well, I love Warner, a LOT! I loved that he finally explained everything to Juliette and that even extremely heart broken, he still did everything in his power to help her and gave her everything she wanted. He was so vulnerable throughout some parts of this book and that was such an interesting thing to read, given how he was always so in control in all the others. I loved all his moments with Juliette, and that what’s kept me awake for the whole night!

igniteme_3

Juliette grew so much in this book. I loved that she stood up for herself and those she loves!

igniteme_6

I also liked that she took her time figuring out her feelings and that she only went to Warner when she knew that she had all the choices but all she wanted was him. But it was hard! He was in so much pain and she wanted him and didn’t say it… oh…. my heart was in physical pain throughout all this.

igniteme_7

But people… the sex! OMG! The sex! If their scene together in Unravel Me was hot (and it was), it doesn’t hold a candle to everything that goes on here, just… wow!

igniteme_10

By the way, “Lift your hips for me, love.” will forever be etched into my brain…

(Also, why do I keep imagining him slightly british when he calls her “love”? I keep going to Tom Hiddlestone accent… don’t know why…)

Juliette + Kenji

This was my second favorite thing about this book: Kenji and Juliette’s friendship. I want a best friend like Kenji! He’s hilarious, so damn funny, and I loved all their talks. I loved that he took the time and had the cool head to actually listen to her. Even if he thought she was a bit mental for trusting Warner, he still listened and understood. Such beautiful moments there…

igniteme_8

Adam vs The World

When I started to read Shatter Me and loved Adam, I talked to Kat @Life and Other Disasters and she told me she didn’t like Adam, that he did something bad. I couldn’t understand, I believed I could never hate him, ship Juliette with Warner, maybe, but dislike Adam? Not possible!

Then I read Fracture Me and my feelings for Adam started to change very drastically, and then I got to this book and I wanted to kill him each time he opened his mouth! It’s not that I don’t understand where it’s coming from, I can understand that, but what he said to Juliette? Some of that stuff is unforgivable in my book.

But I did like that Juliette stood up to him (you go girl!), but this Adam?! GOD! By the end he seemed a bit more mellow, but he was just so stupid throughout everything… I didn’t like it, and I didn’t like him! 😦

igniteme_5

What I loved:

I really liked that ending. I liked that Anderson died with 2 bullets to the head – though Juliette, love, it should have been “One for Warner. One for Adam.” and not the other way around… but hey, I forgive you.

igniteme_9

I loved all the powers and projections and stuff. I’m a huge fan of Warner’s power and how quickly he was able to control it.

I loved Juliette’s relationship with Warner. I loved that he respected her, her powers and her opinions. And that she did the same regarding him. They ended up being a perfectly balanced couple, and I couldn’t have predicted that on book 1.

igniteme_2

WHY I WANTED MORE:

I wanted more of Juliette and Warner. I wanted more of them as a couple, I wanted to know what happened when she took control, I wanted to know it all. I also wanted more bed, tables, walls, bathtubs and disrobing scenes… seriously, they can’t even keep their clothes on!

I also would have loved to have a double POV in this book, I wanted to know what Warner was thinking for most of the book, especially during all those weeks when he couldn’t even look straight at Juliette.

More Kenji! More Kenji with Juliette. More Kenji with Warner. Basically, more Kenji.

igniteme_4

I wanted to know more about Winston and Brendan and all of the gang. I wanted backstories and the works. Novellas, maybe? Can a girl dream?

I wanted Warner bonding with Adam and James. I absolutely loved that Warner was the bigger man and showed interest and getting to know his brothers, but I wanted to see him actually interacting with the both of them as brothers. Also, James would be confused as hell…

I wished that Anderson would have been aware that both his children were against him – not that it would have mattered to him… he was a monster.

I wanted to know all the secrets that Warner was still not telling. Come on, we just know that there’s a lot more stuff, right? I wanted everything!

Rating: 4.7 Stars

4-7

PS: to everyone that told me that Warner would win me over and that I would change my opinion of him from the first book on… you were so so right!

PS2: I’m so unwilling to let go that I actually went looking for fanfiction last night… I never ever read fanfic before…

Most Likely To… Book Tag

Hey people, welcome to another book tag! Becca @Becca and Books created this fun tag and I loved it so much that I decided to give it a go.

mostlikelyto

So, this is how it works:

  1. Put 18 book characters into a jar and shake it up.
  2. Have the first three most likely to… categories ready. Pick three names from the jar and apply them to the first three categories (I’ll be stealing categories from people!).
  3. Keep going until you have none left!

round 1

I think this one is pretty straight forward (they even ended up in the right order!). I think Katniss would be the most likely to kill someone, given that she has killed a lot of people before.

Levi would be the one to get married, he’s such a romantic that I don’t even know if he and Cath would wait until they finished college.

Magnus Bane having a one night stand with a person he hates?! Sure, I can totally see that!

round 2

OHHHH!!! Let’s start with the easy one, Jace would totally get in a bar fight. He already has, right?

Hermione would totally fall in love with her best-friend, at least with one of them, which actually happened: Ron + Hermione = OTP!

And Tamlin would be the one to have kids super young. Now, given that he’s Fae and immortal and stuff, he still IS super young, so he’s totally on time for this one.

round 3

Jesus, this one is a bit weird… So, Jem would probably become a teacher, he’s super patient and smart and gentle, so yeah, that’s what he would do.

Celaena would probably write a book, a memoir, about her time as an assassin. I would totally read that (oh wait, I am reading that… The Assassin’s Blade! 😉 )

Dorian would so cry in the movies, and he wouldn’t even feel embarrassed about it.

round 4

Poor Cath, I can’t see her doing any of this stuff… so I guess she could get a Simon and Baze tattoo?!

Feyre would become a World Leader, at least a court leader, which she will probably be if she marries Tamlin. She would also be that of she chooses Rhys, so really, it’s in her future one way or the other.

Izzy could totally become an actress. I can so see it!

round 5

Juliette IS already a superhero, she has a freaking superpower! So that’s settled, Juliette will become a superhero.

Lucien would totally tweet every event in his life, like “oh, gross! Tamlin and Feyre are getting all steamy again #GetaRoom!”.

And Rowan would so be a stay-at-home dad, while Aelin would be out there ruling her kingdom and stuff… he would be a great full-time dad!

round 6

Kenji would become a dancer in a Beyonce video, he would also go on tour with her. He would also be amazing at it!

The final 2 are so hard!!! Ok, Warner would be the most likely to get his heart broken, because he had it broken already twice, but that will never happen again, because Juliette would never ever ever break his heart again. But he loves her so much that yeah, it’s the most likely thing for him…

And Rhys would starts a grunge band, lol. Or a boy band, not sure about that. Maybe he would be the bad-boy of the band, who gets all the attention but really only has eyes for one person… who in turn loves someone else. Oh, that’s tragic!
