Doctor Strange First Look

Mystical-Strange-005-EW

Yesterday we got the first look at Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange and he looks kind of glorious. 😀 What do you guys think? I’m super excited by this movie, it combines two of my favorite things: Marvel and Benedict Cumberbatch!

Sherlock: The Abominable Bride

The Sherlock Special, airing on the January 1st 2016, has a name, and it’s eirie… The Abominable Bride. A new trailer was released (below) and I’m super excited for this one, because even though they are clearly out of the time we are used to, they’re still the same 😀 . Also, they confirmed that season 4 will begin production in the Spring of 2016, so we have a light at the end of the tunnel…

Sherlock: Christmas Special Clip

It already feels like Christmas! After so long without having anything “Sherlock“, two goodies in two is AMAZING! A special clip from the Christmas Special was released (see below).

It looks so good (how I have missed Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes…). Is gives us nothing in terms of plot, but it’s great as it is. Also, they announced at Comic-Con that the Special will have a theatrical released in selected theatres.

Hey, I’m back (and I can’t set foot in another bookstore…)

I’m home… after almost a week gone (that didn’t quite go as I expected), I’m back and hard at work again. The trip to the UK was ok, it was nice to see the friends, it was great to go to Oxford, the Phantom of the Opera was pretty good, and the Harry Potter Studio Tour was amazing as always. I didn’t quite spent as much time in London as I had hoped for, neither did I see much, but hey, I do know London quite well, so…

Oxford was pretty great, we went to the Bodleian Library, which by itself is pretty amazing, to top it off, they actually filmed Harry Potter there and our guide was amazing. The next day we made our way to London, to see the change off the guard and a walk through Camden, this was great because although we saw little of the change of the guard, we actually saw the QUEEN!!! Not too shabby!

(yeah, Speedy’s… Sherlock‘s filming location near Euston Square!)

The Harry Potter studio tour was on its Animal Actors Week, so there were actually Fangs and Hedwigs around the studios.

All and all, the most pleasurable moments I had on this trip were my hours at several bookshops… It started back at Blackwell’s in Oxford… OMG, that place is amazing… all I know is that when I left Oxford I had already bought 6 books… yeah, 6! I ended up with 9 new books and having to dispatch my bag (I had no space left, otherwise I would also have bought an amazing edition of The Lord of the Rings that I found at Waterstones).

books(I’m so in love with my Little Women book… seriously, it’s not just the cover, it’s the whole book… gorgeous!)

Benedict Cumberbatch confirmed as Doctor Strange!

It’s nothing that the internet hadn’t been talking about for a while now, but last night MARVEL has confirmed that the role of Doctor Strange will be taken on by none other than Sherlock‘s Benedict Cumberbatch.

Doctor Strange will be released November 4, 2016 and will be directed by Scott Derrickson and screenplay by Jon Spaihts. It will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”

There are a lot of complaints going around the web, I have to be honest, I have no idea how Doctor Strange is supposed to be, I don’t know the character. But either way, I do believe that Ben is the man for the job, just as he is for every role he has taken so far, because let’s face it, he’s probably one of the greatest actors alive today.

#221back #Sherlock #notkidding

Sherlock is back on track! Well, at least they already have a script for the special Christmas 2015 episode and they had a table read today, according to BBC.

The boys apparently also posed for a photo with the attire they’ll be using for the Christmas special, though I’m not sure that’s entirely true… let’s admit that Benedict looks too much like himself in that photo and not at all like Sherlock! And Martin has the mustache back?! Hell no! =P I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but at least things are moving along!!! =D

“Steven Moffat: I would do a Doctor Who/Sherlock crossover”… Say What?!

Everyone who’s a fan of Doctor Who and Sherlock has heard, read or wanted a crossover between the 2 shows for a while, and now, while promoting season 8 of Doctor Who, Steven Moffat, writer and producer of both shows, has ignited that fire stating that we would be willing to do it, as RADIOTIMES informs!

Steven_Moffat__I_would_do_a_Doctor_Who_Sherlock_crossover

“Look I’m going to come clean on this: I would,” said Moffat. “Go speak to Cumberbatch, Freeman, Gatiss and Vertue, OK? They’re all in the way. I’m not the killjoy, it’s that lot. It’s probably not going to happen.” Moffat sympathised with the load groans from the audience: “I know!” he squealed, “What a bunch of killjoys I work with.”

Despite his own enthusiasm for the project, Moffatt can understand why it might be a bad idea. “You know in some ways, I think Mark’s got a point when he says that however good you imagine [the crossover], it would be almost better in your imagination than it would be if the two grand old egotists actually met. They’d just both go off in opposite corners and sulk that there was someone cleverer than them. [Imitating Sherlock/The Doctor] ‘No, I’m not going to do it, he can do it.'”

I love both shows! Two of my favorite shows ever, two of my favorite characters! But really Moffat?! You do understand the concepts of the two shows you run, right?! Because mixing the sci-fi, fantasy and the “impossible and fantastic” that is Doctor Who, with the racional drama that is Sherlock, would never, ever work! So, I only say: THANK GOD FOR THOSE “KILLJOYS”!

Celebrity Crush (and Happy 38th Birthday): Benedict Cumberbatch

I have to admit that the first time I saw a picture of Sherlock‘s Benny I didn’t see what the big whoop was about… But then I watched the series and now I see it. I don’t even have to see it, I only have to listen his voice and goddammit, he has the most gorgeous voice! Am I crazy to root for Smaug in The Hobbit?! So, here it is, my third (and sometimes first) celebrity crush is Benedict Timothy Carlton Cumberbatch, gorgeous man, gorgeous smile, with the sexiest voice ever, who acts like an adorkable 5 year old! Happy B-day!

I don’t live beyond my means. I enjoy luxury and I enjoy the privilege of it, when I can afford it, and I’m in the situation where it’s been given to me, but I’m very conscious of what is wasteful.

I’ve always had an eye on longevity; I’ve got loads more goals to achieve. It’s not like I’ve completely conquered the whole thing. That’s a lifetime’s objective, not an overnight thing.

It’s the blessing of having a weird face – somewhere between an otter and something people find vaguely attractive.

#221Back: The Game is ON!

BBC started to tease Sherlock fans last night on twitter. Today, at 2:21 pm, BBC announced that Sherlock will be back not only for a 4th season, but also for a special, which is to be shot starting January 2015, with the rest of the season being filmed later that year. Which means (by my mental calculations) that it won’t be a Christmas special, right?!

“A special, plus a new series of three episodes — it’s a record-breaking run! Of course, it’s far too early to say what’s coming, but we’re reasonably confident that the very next thing to happen to Sherlock and John, is the very last thing you’d expect…” co-creator, writer and executive producer Steven Moffat .

Mark Gatiss added, “Series Four! At last ! It’s always special to return to Sherlock but this time it’s even more special as we’re doing… a Special! Not only THAT, we’ll then be shooting three more episodes which will take Sherlock and John Watson into deeper and darker water than ever before. The whole Sherlock team are terrifically excited to return for four new adventures. The Game is on — again!”
