Review:

He’s hot. Like, stop breathing kind of hot with his killer body, vivid blue eyes, and constant five o’clock shadow.

Did I mention his body?

Watching Hollis Knightly, Olympic diving gold medalist, man-pony specialist — and cocky bastard — stand up on the diving platform in nothing but a small piece of Spandex? Yeah, I’m beguiled.

And easily seduced.

I want to keep things light but he won’t leave me alone. And hell, if he’s not wearing me thin.

What is supposed to be a simple summer fling with a very hot man, has now morphed into a f*cked-up mess of feelings, attachment, and dare I say it… love. But I don’t do relationships. And Hollis Knightly does.

I read this book as a buddy read with Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much, so go there tomorrow to check her review of this book.

OMG people! I thought Stroked Long and Bodi had killed me, but WOW, they are nothing compared to Hollis and the amazingness that was this book! – Sorry Bodi…

Meghan Quinn just keeps getting better and better. The humour she infuses on her books is beyond amazing, and the depths she went to in this one? WOW. I was crying and laughing like crazy at the same time. Very well done.

strokedhardteaser_crotch

So far in this series all characters have been fantastic, but somehow I wasn’t prepared for the awesomeness that is HOLLIS KNIGHTLY. Let’s talk about Melony first, shall we? Melony is a strong independent woman, who has made a life for herself. Having been raised by a single mom, she knows not to depend on men. Even more, she knows she can’t trust them to stay… this was so sad! I loved Mel, but it hurt that she wasn’t able to live this part of her life.

strokedhardteaser_hollis

Enter Hollis! I knew he would be hilarious, but I wasn’t expecting him to be so damn great. Contrary to what’s “normal” in romance novels, Hollis is not a player. Oh no. He does relationships. He ONLY does relationships. And he’s sweet, hot and sexy. He’s witty, and OMG, the things that come out of his mouth!!! Also, he reads romance novels, and wallows with ice-cream… I mean… come on… HOW COULD MEL RESIST HOLLIS AT ALL?!

strokedhardteaser_dobetter

Well, she does! The poor girl tries to say no. But Hollis just knows that she’s THE ONE, so he keeps going after her. Eheh. It was funny to read Mel trying to resist the guy, because he was pretty hard to resist. The relationship was so beautiful, because Hollis wooed the hell out of that girl. The problems were deeper than just a pure resistance from Melony’s part, and it seriously broke my heart.

I loved the ending! The ending of the novel and the ending of the series, I mean… that extra scene? LOL! I also loved how involved Reese and Paisley were in this story :D. The BFF relationship between Hollis and Reese is great, and it’s amazing how they can be so amazing friends, when they’re so different.

strokedhardteaser_temp

Guys, I recommend this book and this whole series. It’s amazing. Funny. Emotional. And it has Olympic swimmers and divers!!! What more can you want? Give this series a chance, you won’t be sorry you did.

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.

Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking

Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

Reese King: Olympic medalist, underwear model, Greek god.

His body is chiseled from rock, sculpted by the weight room, and refined by water.

On a daily basis his skin is completely bare for everyone to see, tan and defined, only covered up by a minuscule piece of spandex. There is no denying his sex appeal.

I hate to admit it, but I’m head over heels infatuated with him.

There is one HUGE problem though. His achingly gorgeous abs, inked up arm, and cocky swagger belong to my boss, the high-profile, reality star bitch from hell and certified heinous human being, Bellini Chambers.

What I think is going to be an easy job assisting a glorified wench turns into a cluster f*ck of epic proportions.

From his dirty-blond hair and breathtaking smile, to the abs from heaven and the irresistible V in his waistline, everything about Bodi Olympic-gold-medalist Banks screams hot piece of @$$.

Yet there’s more.

Dark shadows lurk behind his soulful, serious eyes.

I’m enamored. He’s captured me.

How can running an art foundation with Bodi Banks turns into a slow-burning, epic romance, even though he tries to push me away at every chance? How can I stay away from a broken, routine-driven man whose soul cries to be forgiven for a crime only he believes he committed? Or is that a lie?

**STROKED LONG can be read as a stand alone.

I read this book as a buddy read with Cátia @The Girl Who Read Too Much, so go there on Monday to check her review of this book. SPOILER ALERT: she also loved it!

First of all, I loved the writing style. YES! First person is completely me and I love it. This is my third Meghan Quinn’s book, and I’m in love with her writing, for sure. Luckily in this one, we only have the two main POVs, Bodi’s and Ruby’s – I don’t know if I could have dealt with anymore insight into Bellini’s brain! I’m now thinking that if Stroked didn’t have her POV, I might have enjoyed it even more.

strokedteaser_willy

I’m totally in love with the two main characters of this book. I was intrigued by Bodi in book 1, because he was so difficult to read, but here we finally understand the reasoning behind the way he acts, and his obsessive compulsive behaviours, and honestly? It broke my heart. I really liked his evolution, and how he was able to open up to Ruby, at least a little bit, and include her in his life.

I LOVE Ruby! Her behaviour is hilarious and her rants are amazing. While Bodi is all broody and quiet, Ruby is a ray of sunshine! She’s so strong and understanding. I love her. I love him. I love THEM!

strokedteaser_rudder

The romance was amazing and I liked that it evolved slow. They first became co-workers, then decided to be friends, and then finally, finally, they went beyond that. Their talks – and texts – were AWESOME!!! It made sense that way, because Bodi was so closed off and it was so hard for him to became close to someone. So, when they’re finally in a relationship, they are IN. I just loved them together, even when it was clear how they would fall apart, I just wanted my babies to be happy.

strokedlong_seamonster

The fall-out was very well done, and it made a lot of sense, even though I didn’t want it to happen. I really liked how their friends and family were supportive of both of them, and helped them to come together again.

I didn’t find this book as predictable as the first one, and the only big problem I had with it was the repetition, mainly on Ruby’s POV. I loved that the ending was real, and it wasn’t all sunshine and roses.

strokedlong_air

People, if you guys like hot romances and olympic swimmers, then read this book. NOW!

When I read the blurb, I got the idea that this book would have some kind of triangle or cheating, something along those lines, but that’s not the case at all. Just to put your mind at ease 😉 .

This was my second book by Meghan Quinn, and once again I really enjoyed the writing. The book is told in 3 different POVs, two main ones, Paisley and Reese, and then Bellini has the occasional POV (that I found to be more for comic relief than anything else).

StrokedTeaser1

I really liked Paisley and Reese, both were complex characters, who complemented each other quite well. I really liked their connection and their chemistry, either as co-workers and as a couple. But I loaded Bellini… yeah, I know that was the whole point, but I really hated her, even though her chapters were hilarious.

StrokedTeaser2

I found great the importance that Paisley gave her job and her goals, and I really liked that there was no actual mixing business with pleasure here. I absolutely loved the Olympic theme throughout the book, and I found Reese kind of inspirational.

StrokedTeaser3

About the side characters, I thought Reese’s friends were amazing, and I can’t wait for the next two books to read a whole lot more about them. Now, about Paisley’s BFF Jonathan… I was slightly disappointed in him and in the direction of his storyline.

StrokedTeaser4

I found the plot a bit predictable, but still very entertaining and well achieved. I will definitly recommend this book, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next two. Olympic swimmers and divers?! Gimme gimme!
