Welcome back to Top 5 Wednesday! This meme was created by gingerreadslainey and is hosted by Sam @ThoughtsOnTomes and you can check out the  Goodreads group here. This week’s theme is Books That Would Make Good Video Games.

Since I’ve been in video game hell (in a good way) for the past year, this topic is timely. Remember, not all video games are action games! The Sims has proven that 🙂

So… I mostly read contemporaries and they’re not the best ones for this topic, so I’m going for Books That Would Make Good Teen Movies.

Beware the Ides of March! What books (or characters) did you feel betrayed by, for whatever reason…big or small.

Here are some books that I felt betrayed by, mostly because the blurb and the publicity forgot to mention some pretty important things…

Welcome back to Top 5 Wednesday! This meme was created by gingerreadslainey and is hosted by Sam @ThoughtsOnTomes and you can check out the  Goodreads group here. This week’s theme is Favorite Non-Written Novels .

This was a hard topic to name, but this is about all books that are not ‘written’ novels! So graphic novels, comics, manga, audiobooks, etc. Shed some light on books in other forms.

Once again, I’m finding this topic too similar to one of the TTTs from a few weeks ago, where the theme was graphic novels or comics. So, today, I’m turning to audiobooks, with a romantic twist. I’m showing you 5 Romance books that totally work as audiobooks for me, whether I listened to them fully, or just parts of it.

Top 5 Wednesday: Book Trends You’re Tired Of

t5w_gold

Welcome back to Top 5 Wednesday! This meme was created by gingerreadslainey and is hosted by Sam @ThoughtsOnTomes and you can check out the  Goodreads group here. This week’s theme is Book Trends You’re Tired Of .

What are some things you are tired of seeing that are trends in publishing? Maybe something that pops up on a lot of covers these days, or the popularity of certain tropes in a particular genre? Let it out!

This is a tough topic, so let’s see what I can come up with.

t5w_8-2-17_1

This is a huge trend nowadays, and I just don’t get it. Look, not that I don’t find them funny, or I’m not interested in reading them, but COME ON! Books like Born a Crime I want more of, but memoirs just for the sake of them being famous people? Yeah…

t5w_8-2-17_2

Again, this one is iffy. Some books are amazing, but some? Totally “pointless“.

t5w_8-2-17_3
I love when my favorite books are optioned for TV or movies, but you know when the book is not even out and there’s already a huge buzz around it because of it? Yeah… I don’t think that’s always positive.

t5w_8-2-17_4

I think these covers are cute! But this is clearly a trend, right? I mean, look at all those legs!!!

t5w_8-2-17_5

I get it, most authors live either in the US, Canada or the UK, but I would like to see more countries featured in contemporary books, and not only for a year abroad or a summer vacation.
