Legends of Tomorrow: Hawkgirl and Hawkman

God, I love September! TV shows about to start and all this info surfacing… *bliss*… The CW has released the first picture of Hawkman and Hawkgirl from the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow, Falk Hentschel plays Carter Hall/Hawkman and Ciara Renée is Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl.

I really like the suits, and I can’t wait to see the wings. It’s definitely better that the costume Carter Hall used in Smallville.

Like their DC Comics counterparts, in the series Hawkman and Hawkgirl are the reincarnation of a pair of devoted lovers originally from Ancient Egypt. Fated to be born again and again in different eras, they two always find each other and generally end up fighting for their current era’s version of truth, justice and the [Appropriate nation-state] way. (Worth noting however that the Legends version of Hawkgirl combines two versions of the character.) The characters will debut on this season’s Arrow/The Flash crossover episode before returning as series regulars on Legends. – Deadline

On a different note, a second teaser was released for the Arrow, and it’s so funny and romantic… take a look.

Arrow, Flash and Supernatural Sneak Peak

The CW has been releasing some sneak peaks for the upcoming season, so I give the Arrow, The Flash and Supernatural trailers for season 2, 4 and 11 respectively.

cw_arrow_flash_spn

First Arrow, it’s been out for a while, so there’s not much to say, right? This season already looks a bit lighter and I like that. I especially like to see Thea a bit on the cray-cray side, Nyssa fighting Malcom, Nyssa (just Nyssa, I like her – is it too wrong to ship her with Laurel?!), everyone keeping busy while Oliver is away, … And Felicity and Curtis Holt! How cute 😀

The Flash is going to be insane! Parallel worlds?! WOW!!! I can’t wait for it! 😀 😀 😀 And Lisa is back, and I wish she doesn’t leave… I like Cisco around her 😉 .

Supernatural looks creepier than usual, and scarier… what the hell is going on with people? Why are Sam’s eyes pried open like that? Why is Crowley dressed as a priest? Why is Castiel beating him up? I need some answers!

Arrow: Diggle Suits Up

Finally, after 3 seasons, Diggle is finally getting his own suit… granted, it’s a bicker jacket and a helmet, but I bet there’s more to it 😀 ! Also, that helmet looks like something Magneto would wear…

Also, a new poster for the show has come out, and it features the Arrow’s new green suit… What do you think?

Wally West is coming to The Flash

The CW has announced yesterday another addition to The Flash cast. Keiynan Lonsdale is joining the second season of the show as a series regular, playing none other than Wally West.

wallywest

Who is Wally West you ask, and why does the name sound so familiar?! Well that might be because he’s also known as the Kid Flash, the Barry Allen’s Flash sidekick, and he is the third person to go by The Flash.

In the comics Wally is Iris’s nephew, though I imagine that for the show they will probably make him her cousin or something. But what does this mean? Is Barry getting a sidekick so early in the game? Will Wally be introduced in the series for long-term plans? What? What? I’m getting quite excited about this second season!

Arrow will now be Green!

This promo picture from Arrow was released a few days ago – but I had totally forgot about it until today. It shows Oliver’s new get-up! 😀 It’s greener! We’re slowly getting to the Green Arrow we all know.

The Flash: Fast Enough

Let me start by saying that I was consciously putting off watching this episode because I knew it was going to be heartbreaking and then I would have to go through a lot of months without this show, and I’m still not ready for that!

the-flash-fast-enough_article_story_large

The Flash did everything right this season, but that finale, oh boy, that was something else.

  • First of all, the acting. This cast took it out of the park, especially Grant Gustin, Jesse L. Martin, Rick Cosnett, Carlos Valdes and John Wesley Shipp. When the episode ended, I was all tears.
  • This episode shows so well that in this show (or at least in this season), the focus was much more on Barry and his fathers, than on Barry and his love interests, and that is amazing. More so because Barry and his dads are AMAZING!

  • Each time Barry has a scene with Joe it’s probably gonna be my favorite of that episode – they’re just that good. But on this one, it was the Barry/Henry scene that made me lose it completely. What Henry tells his son is just so profound, he rather be in jail than see his son become something less than what he is… come on, that’s love!
  • But Joe is not behind, he rather lose Barry as a son, in order for him to grow up with both his parents… more tears – what was the game plan here, Flash writers?!
  • I loved Dr. Stein on this episode, how determinant he was for almost everything. I liked especially of his talk with Eddie!!! I’m looking forward to see more of him in Legends of Tomorrow.

  • Cisco and Wells… I could watch more of them. I’m kind of hoping that now that the Reverse Flash has ceased to exist, that it somehow means that the real Harrison Wells never died, and that somehow he and Cisco might bond. But that’s asking a lot, because if they go there, they would have to erase and change a lot of things, and I guess that’s more of a parallel timeline or something like that. Though Tom Cavanagh is confirmed for season 2, so…

  • Cisco is on his way to becoming Vibe, while Caitlin is seen as Killer Frost when Barry is trying to create the wormhole.

  • I was really ok with Eddie taking control of his destiny and going to get the girl – though we knew it was doomed from the start. But he was right, the universe in which Iris bears the name Allen, is not their universe, so in reality they could have happened.
  • If it wasn’t of course for the fact that Eddie needed to stop existing… he had to go and be a hero… I will miss him dearly!!! But ultimately he did what he had to do to completely erase the Reverse Flash. Well done… you were a real hero Eddie.
  • There’s one thing that I’m not 100% convinced about: Ronnie and Caitlin. I love Caitlin. I like Ronnie. I do not like them together! I did not like that wedding. At all! Sorry…

  • Grant Gustin is amazing! Have I said that already?! This show has been so great because he inputs a heart to Barry and the Flash, while maintaining a comedic side… He has been wonderful and should truly be commended by the success of this series.
  • Oh… and that scene with Nora Allen?! WOW!

Oh… I’m gonna miss you Flash!

Arrow Season 3 finale (and some other thoughts)

So, I know I’m a bit late with this… the season finale was already a while ago – and I had Arrow up to date – but I’ve been mulling over about what to say about it.

Arrow-Season-3-Wallpaper

  • First off, it’s not exactly news about now, but this 3rd season was definitely not up to par with the previous ones. After giving it a bit of thought I figured out some stuff that did not work for me, which not to say that I didn’t enjoy this season – I did – but not as much, and here’s why: too much Olicity angst!
  • I feel I should clarify that I’m a totally Olicity fan, I ship those 2 hard! But the episodes were way too much about them, whether together or apart, and it just didn’t work. Stephen and Emily have amazingly undeniable chemistry, so it’s always fun to watch them together… however it’s not great fun that they kept angsting about not being together for most of the season. After Oliver’s decision on the first episode, I wished that they had talked about it – while obviously still loving each other – but not actively mentioning the problem at almost every single episode. It got tiring.
  • Other things that’s been largely talked about was the Hong Kong flashbacks. Here, I have to be honest, I liked the storyline. I wished it had taken less time, because the story was not that complex, but still I liked it, mostly because it introduced my favorite character from this season: Tatsu! I really liked Tatsu and Maseo, and I cried hard when she killed him… oh, the tears! I wished their story had ended differently, but I’m kind of glad that it didn’t. I also enjoyed immensely when Tatsu joined “Team Arrow” in Nanda Parbat and I wished that she had stayed with them, her skills would come in handy.

tumblr_nnypf7yoL51tvraino1_500

  • Speaking of Nanda Parbat, we spent quite a few episodes with people flying in and out of there, but where the hell is it?! Because my first instinct would be to say that it’s somewhere in Asia, where you can get to and from in about a couple of hours flying?!
  • Laurel… until the middle of the season my dislike for her was at a high, as always, but then, I don’t know, she became cool… I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m really liking Laurel right now. She stood up to Oliver and her father, she learned a lot from Roy and the team, she bonded with Felicity and she actually started to have a purpose on the series… well done! And, I really like her with Nyssa (and I wanted Nyssa to stay…).
  • Other character that I didn’t care about before and now I do, is Thea. She grew up a lot – and I’m not only talking about her fighting skills. I’m just sorry that now that she’s ready, she doesn’t have Roy with her… oh, I’m really gonna miss Roy – by the way, he was amazing this season.

tumblr_noclbc3aAn1t5d7t3o2_r1_540

  • Quentin Lance… WTF man?! The last third of the season I just wanted to throw him out of the window. I mean, I get it, what Laurel and Oliver did was wrong, they should have let him know about Sara’s death, but his behavior?! No excuse for that! He kind of redeemed himself in the last episode, only for them to let us know that he was drinking again?! Oh man… this sucks!
  • About Ray, I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical about him in the beginning, I mean, he liked Felicity and Felicity belongs with Oliver. Still, he grew on me. He’s funny, smart and a damn good person…
  • … which leads me to one of my biggest problems with the last couple of scenes from the last episode, in which, in front of everyone – including Ray – Oliver declares himself to Felicity and asks her to go away with him. I’m OK with the content of the scene – though I might argue that Oliver goes from 80 to 8 in less than no time. What I’m not OK with was the lack of respect it showed towards Ray, from Oliver and Felicity, because PDA with your new boyfriend while your ex watching is not cool… especially considering that the man just gave you his company (not that you know, but still…).
  • Also, I felt that Oliver just spent the whole season repeating the same mistakes on a loop. After 3 years, I would expect him to trust his friends more and not go around doing things by himself and trusting the wrong people.
  • Which, by the way, what the hell Oliver?! You let Malcolm take control of the League of Assassins?! That smells like bad news already.

I think thinks of anything more to say, except that I really hope that next season is slightly better and that they do the Olicity thing right!

What I’ll be watching new next season (The Cw)

This one is super easy, The Cw only has 3 new shows starting next season. I’ll probably watch two of them (Yep, not watching Containment, it doesn’t look like a Cw thing… if it endures and the reviews are Ok, I’ll give it a look…).

cw

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

I’m obviously watching this!!! Too bad it only starts mid season…

When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends! With Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill, Caity Lotz, Ciarra Renee, Franz Drameh, Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

It looks weird… but hey, so did Jane the Virgin and that worked out GREAT, so I’ll be giving this one a chance.

Rachel Bloom is Rebecca Bunch, a successful driven, and possibly crazy young woman who impulsively gives up everything in a desperate attempt to find love and happiness… in suburban West Covina, CA.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Trailer

Just a couple of hours since the picture release, we now have a trailer, a proper, hella cool trailer!

I’m so freaking happy about this trailer, the show looks amazing (AMAZING!!!), it’s like The Flash and Arrow and Smallville and Doctor Who all rolled into one, with a pinch of Prison Break! Epic! =D

Oh, and hell yeah Caity Lotz is playing White Canary! Lazarus Pit, you really outdone yourself with this one!

First look at Legends of Tomorrow

The Arrow/The Flash spinoff finally has some graphics and is set to premiere midseason. It looks so cool!!!

DC's Legends of Tomorrow

It also gives us a first look at Caity Lotz’ character, which seems to be the White Canary, though confirmation, when, how and why, we still don’t have.

“When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat — one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known? DC’S Legends of Tomorrow stars Victor Garber (The Flash); Brandon Routh (Arrow); Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who); Caity Lotz (Arrow); Ciarra Renee (Pippin); Franz Drameh (Edge of Tomorrow); with Dominic Purcell (The Flash); and Wentworth Miller (The Flash).”
