Welcome back for day 3! On the first day I gave you a quote from Eleanor & Park, and on the second day it was from My Heart and Other Black Holes. Today I’ll give you a quote by none other than the brilliant J.K. Rowling, from her book (and Harvard commencement speech) Very Good Lives: The Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Importance of Imagination.

Very Good Lives: The Fringe Benefits of Failure and the Importance of Imagination (J.K. Rowling)

>>>>  Nº 27 on My 2015 Reading Challenge – A book you can finish in a day <<<<

J.K. Rowling, one of the world’s most inspiring writers, shares her wisdom and advice.

In 2008, J.K. Rowling delivered a deeply affecting commencement speech at Harvard University. Now published for the first time in book form, VERY GOOD LIVES presents J.K. Rowling’s words of wisdom for anyone at a turning point in life. How can we embrace failure? And how can we use our imagination to better both ourselves and others?

Drawing from stories of her own post-graduate years, the world famous author addresses some of life’s most important questions with acuity and emotional force.

Sales of VERY GOOD LIVES will benefit both Lumos, a non-profit international organization founded by J.K. Rowling, which works to end the institutionalization of children around the world, and university-wide financial aid at Harvard University.

Oh my, she’s funny, and witty and marvelous! You can read this commencement speech J.K. Rowling gave at Harvard back in 2008 online, or you can watch the video below. But the book is gorgeous, the illustrations are wonderful and the sales of the book benefits the LUMOS foundation.

Also, a very easy read, it took me all of 30 minutes 🙂 !!!
