Getting Schooled (Emma Chase)

Head of the class…

Garrett Daniels has this whole life thing figured out.

The cocky, charismatic former high school star quarterback is an idolized football coach and “cool” teacher in the hometown where he’s not just a golden boy — he’s platinum. He has good friends, a great house on the lake, and the best damn sidekick a man could ask for: Snoopy, the albino beagle.

Then…Callie Carpenter comes home.

And knocks him right on his tight end zone.

Back to school…

Callie has a pretty sweet life herself…on the other side of the country. But circumstances — that she’d prefer to never speak of again — have brought her back home, helping out her parents and substitute teaching at her old high school.

Now she’s facing bickering, raging hormones, constant gossip, awkward weirdness, and drama galore…and that’s just the teachers.

Just like old times…

When Garrett offers to show his former high school sweetheart the secrets of his winning teacher ways, Callie jumps at the chance – and then has to stop herself from jumping him.

Good friends are all they can ever be.

Or…these teachers just might end up getting schooled — hard — by love.

OMG OMG OMG OMG!

Did I say OMG  a few times too many? Deal with it! This book is amazing and it deserves all the praise.

I recently added the romance package to my audible account, and when I saw that Emma Chase had an audible exclusive release, AND that it was on my package, I jumped on it. And oh boy, I loved it, and I highly recommend it to everyone. It’s so so good.

I love second chance romances, and this one is exactly that, with the added bonus that there was never any fall out. Callie and Garrett loved each other always and forever, and they were so cute and perfect, and *swoon*.

The characters are perfect, but Garrett stole my heart. I loved his dedication to his children, aka, his students, and I loved how he knew them, and how he dealt with them. He was a friend, a teacher and educator to his core. He was so good at his job, and his love for it bled through the story. Amazing.

And it was so heartwarming to see Callie grow into her own potential as a teacher too. The way she got to know her students and got invested in their lives was great.

This book was much more than just the romance between Callie and Garrett. The involvement of their students, their colleagues and families… was awesome! It brought another dimension to the story and much more depth.

Now, the romance was definitely AMAZEBALLS. They were each other’s first and only love, and they were seperated for over 10 years because of circumstances and distance. I loved that there was no fuss, no confusion about their feelings and no hiding. It took them a little while to understand how to make it work, but again, no conflict, they were just that in love and sure of each other and THEM!

I loved their story, and their struggles, and I loved how they loved each other, and the relationships they had with each other and everyone around them. Those kids of theirs made me cry on occasion, and I was laughing my ass off for most of the book.

So guys, if you have Audible, go listen to this book ASAP. The story is great and the narrators are the best – I love Zachary Webber as Garrett. If you’re not into audiobooks, the ebook will be out on June 26th 2018, it’s a long wait, but worth it for sure.

Whatever you want to do, do not skip it. Go listen or read it. It’s that great!
