Bookish Bromances

bookishbromances

There’s one thing I love to see in books, sometimes even more than the romances themselves, and that is: a good bromance! I mean, seriously, is there anything better than watching/reading about friendshio? Especially between 2 guys? I think it’s magical :D.

1. Will & Jem – The Infernal Devices

Will and Jem are the definition of bromance. They are more than brothers. The way they love each other is epic!

2. Jace & Alec – The Mortal Instruments

Like good parabatai, the bond between these two is beyond words… now, I just wish that the show would do it justice.

3. Dorian & Chaol – Throne of Glass

I loved this friendship in the first book and I hated that Chaol’s relationship with Celaena made a dent in it. Luckily, it is all good now, right?

4. Harry & Ron – Harry Potter

Even fighting sometimes, they always had each other’s backs.

5. Tamlin & Lucien – A Court of Thorns and Roses

The way Lucien makes fun of Tamlin… LOL! These two are adorable!

6. Aedion & Rowan – Queen of Shadows

They are hostile for a moment there, but they develop a true bond and it’s beautiful.

7. Seth & RyanSecond Chances

What Seth and Ryan go through during the two books of this series clearly shows the love that exists between them… #goals!

8. Garrett, Logan, Dean & Tucker – Off-Campus

One of the funniest and greatest part of The Deal was watching the relationship between the 4 friends and roommates. I sill have to read the other 2 books that are already out, but they are awesome together.

9. Thorne & Kai – The Lunar Chronicles

Thorne and Kai share a wonderful moment in Winter that made them apt to join this list. I wish we had some more moments of bonding between the guys, but one can always imagine them :D.

10. Simon & Clive – Wallbanger

I’m cheating here, but come on, can you really blame me? Clive is the most awesome cat ever! And he bonds with Simon just like a person. I mean, Simon puts him on the counter to watch him cook, and goes retrieve him so he can sleep with the… it’s cute as hell!

I am astonished that I actually haven’t read all that many books from the list. I want them to do Jalec justice on the show as well though. Why is it so much easier to find good bromances than it is to find girl-girl-friendships 😦

Haha I love this, I can’t say no to a bromance either. I think my favourite literary bromances have got to be Gimli and Legolas though ❤ I am just a sucker for Lord of the Rings. I also love the brotherhood in The Raven Boys.

I agree with every single one I’ve read, which surprisingly is almost everyone. I even agree with Simon and Clive and I haven’t read that book yet 🙂
I just need the bond between Jace and Alec to work in the show. Right now I really don’t like Jace because he keeps being rude to Alec and it shouldn’t be like that

The parabati tracking is the worst part. I can’t take the bromance seriously when they’re just forcing it on us! Also, why are the fighting so much 😦

As soon I started reading this post, the music Bromance by Nigahiga Ft. Chester See started playing in 8Tracks ahah Plus, I think you spoiled Throne of Glass a little bit, it’s okay though 🙂
I love bromances, specially Percy Jackson and Jason Grace and if we’re talking about TV shows, Stiles and Scott from Teen Wolf will always be the definition of bromance.

Heronstairs is like the ultimate brotp! I haven’t find any bromance that could compete with them, they’re so beautiful<3 And also Chaol and Dorian, even though I only have read Throne of Glass, but I really love their dynamic and friendship 😀

So many awesome bromances! My favourite is probably Will and Jem, but I love Jace and Alec (and I completely agree, I don’t like their relationship on the show. Jace is treating Alec in a way he would never treat him in the book), Harry and Ron and Dorian and Chaol too of coure ❤️

  8. Josephine says:

I almost love bromances more than I love general romances! Especially Will and Jem – those two are precious and thinking about them makes me want to cry a little! And Jace and Alec too; they’re great and I remembered loving their friendship.

You simply cannot go wrong with a good bromance. I absolutely adored the Thorne/Kai moment in Winter and wished we got some more of them. My favourite bromance has to be my Raven Boys. Gansey, Adam, Ronan and Noah all have such a distinct identity but they always have each others backs. 😀
